Catalog Pick: Floral Mosaic Mirrors from Pier1

I am intrigued by these mosaic mirrors from Pier1. Especially for a very light, white, neutral nursery...I could see one perched above a changing table.

#1 / #2 / #3

That magnolia one would also be killer in a white and green powder room.

Anyone peeped these in person at the store?

Friday Crush

Going into the weekend, I'm loving the CBS Sunday Morning vibe of this mirror by Justina Blakeney available at Lulu & Georgia. It's the perfect whimsical touch for a traditional space; it has the right tone and texture for a beach house; it's delightful for a child's space; etc, etc. It's good and I approve.

Any big plans for this weekend? We are laying low, thank goodness. We'll probably watch Trolls for the eleven-thousandth time. Hope it's a wonderful weekend for you and yours...see you next week!

Friday Crush

Going into the weekend, I thought this basket set should be on your radar. Because it's hot pink and delightful. I don't know what my life would be like without baskets - we have them everywhere. And I love them...perfect dose of storage, texture, empty-space-filler...all good things.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend! See you next week!

Catalog Pick: PB Silver Baskets

This season reignites my love for all things metallic in the home, plus I'm 100% devoted to baskets. I never tire of using them as decorative-objects-slash-storage.

So these silver baskets from Pottery Barn are catching my eye right now. Baskets are baskets are baskets...but these give you a little more eye-candy-return on your investment.

I think they are especially nice for a bedroom where you need some sleuth storage for blankets or clothes. And something about the silver metallic mixed with the natural tone is really soft and dreamy.

Note that it's not too early to put together your list for Santa.

Catalog Pick: Purple and Pink Mirrors from Horchow

IMO, Horchow is for sure and for certain one of the best places to get beautiful mirrors online. Some are more budget-friendly than others but the site also runs a number of sales so there is a good possibility even the priciest mirror can be bought at a discount.

I was perusing the mirror selection once again and two FANTASTIC options caught my eye. Hello aubergine, plum delightful Moroccan situation:

That one is the Patrice Scalloped Mirror and I want it something fierce. And check out this feminine beauty:

That one is the Rosemeade Mirror. Are you most delighted by the blush pink, the gold edging, or the scalloped silhouette?

These are the kinds of pieces that can really make a space feel special...yes, we all use mirrors but a purple or pink mirror? Now that is an unexpected place for those colors. Love.

Catalog Pick: Palm Beach, Lanai Mirrors

Really loving the Palm Beach appeal of these new mirrors from Serena & Lily. The first is actually called the Palm Beach Mirror and the second is the Lanai Mirror. Both are obviously at home in any kind of beach house but I think they would look equally gorgeous in a casual, Chinoiserie-filled space.

Can you imagine the second mirror (Lanai) in a trellis-wallpapered powder room with some lovely sconces???

I have to hand it to Serena & Lily for being a catalog source that always offers something unique. They seem to be ahead of the trend curve and I love the global-inspired feel of so many of their items. And don't get me started on the baby stuff...so good.

Check out all mirrors here...

Chinoiserie Monogrammed Trays

If you need a little retail therapy to get through this Monday, check out these monogrammed trays from Etsy seller Sarah Hansen:

Love the flourishes of her monograms paired with crisp fretwork borders to create pretty ottoman trays with Chinoiserie appeal. Her shop has a great selection of trays in various sizes - check it out here. And she's in Annapolis, so a neighbor to the DC area!

Hope you had a great weekend.

Vintage Textile Pillows

Loving these pillows made from vintage textiles:

Etsy shop BylinaStudio, based in Barcelona, takes bits of embroidered vintage tablecloths, vintage woven towels, even some vintage costuming and creates these beautiful pillow covers. Even though they sport colorful patterns, I think the aesthetic here is really soft and lovely. And though some of these patterns are vintage, they sure have a modern vibe to them.

Check out the full Etsy shop here...

Mirror Score

Yesterday, I found this mirror in gold for $130 and I bought it.

Design by Katie Rosenfeld, Photo by Michael Lee

That is some good design karma, y'all.

If it's not this exact mirror, then it's pretty darn close. It's going in the basement and I am all sorts of happy. Highlight of my week!

Natalini Frames

Today I am sharing one of my absolute MOST favorite products EVER. Natalini picture frames...straight from Italy and crazy delicious.

This is my most recent Natalini frame:

It is the most beautiful jade tone and looks killer on my desk at home. I loved it so much that I bought it in 3 sizes! The same frame.

I first discovered Natalini frames at HomeGoods and it's the only place I can find them. The patterns on these frames are SO lovely and the frames are well-made. And they have that pretty velvet back which makes them nice to look at it even from behind.

Check out some of their other frames:

Who knows how HomeGoods picked up this line but I am so glad they carry them. And of course, being HomeGoods, the frames are incredibly affordable. I think I bought my most recent one in a 4x6 for less than $10. I know.

See the HUGE collection of frames by Natalini here, here and here.

This is definitely one of my go-tos, so had to share. Hope you can hunt some down at your local HomeGoods or perhaps online? Anyone seen these anywhere else???

Spring Origami Wreaths

We are apparently getting our one-and-only snowstorm of the winter sometime tonight or tomorrow. Even so, Spring blooms are on my mind and I found the most lovely Spring accessory on Etsy. Have you SEEN these breathtaking paper origami wreaths on Etsy from shop Lustine?

Woah. So, so beautiful right? I love all the color and dimension. One of these would be the most lovely accessory if you were throwing a Spring luncheon (don't we all throw Spring luncheons?) Hang some of these on windows from ribbons...or on a pair of french doors leading into your dining room. Or even lay one in the center of your table as a centerpiece.

The burst of color in these wreaths has me so inspired. Do you like them?

New Chinoiserie Mirrors at Horchow

Horchow is one of my favorite sources for gorgeous mirrors...usually out of my price range, but I love to look and drool. And I recently came across some new (to me) Chinoiserie mirrors that are just out of this world:

If you don't want to run out and design a sweet nursery around this Lotus Mirror, I question your sanity. I have died and gone to mirror heaven. Against baby blue or sweet pink...can you imagine? My mind races with possibilities...

Horchow has always had a chic red pagoda mirror, but this new version is so stunning. The perfect red hue and the shape is classic. Would look smashing in a small powder path against some divine wallpaper.

Oh my, this Ebony Mirror is amazing. I love black accents in a room and this mirror would be the perfect solitary black item in a very sophisticated space. It has a modified pagoda shape so it's not too over-the-top Chinoiserie...and I love the heft of the frame.

I vow to own a fantastic Chinoiserie Chippendale mirror like this one some day. A vintage one would be a dream but if you are impatient and have lots of monies, this version is perfect. And it's on sale for only $500 which for me is a lot but for you it might be just the right price. These mirrors are always beautiful over a fireplace.

I'll take one of each.

Casa Otomi on Etsy

I found a great resource on Etsy for Mexican Otomi fabric, pillows and poufs. Casa Otomi sells lovely Otomi fabric that you can use for your own project or a variety of ready-made home items.

I really want those neutral shams for my bedroom - so gorgeous! And isn't the handbag quite chic? It would look dynamite against a slim black outfit....

If you're a fan of Otomi like me, check out Casa Otomi - lots of eye candy to enjoy!

Wheat Sheaf Sconces

Who doesn't love a good classic pair of wheat sheaf sconces?

Home of Candace Bushnell, Photo by William Waldron for Elle Decor

I scored my own pair of wheat sconces a couple of years ago and I love them. They flank a large mirror above my fireplace and I don't think I'll ever tire of the look.

So being such a fan, I was thrilled to see that High Street Market has started making their own version of this vintage staple. Hunting for wheat sconces on ebay and Etsy is always an option but if you just don't have the energy or you are not having good luck, I'm really loving HSM's version - they are perfect in color, size, detail, etc.

A pair of these sconces would be such a worthwhile investment. Sculptural sconces will forever be in style and I think the wheat motif is timeless. Perfect item to add to your Christmas list, perhaps?

Vintage Nursery Mirror

Even more vintage for the nursery! I recently scored this awesome vintage palm mirror from my friend Sarah's shop - Matters of Style Marketplace:

Isn't it grand?? I have a spot for a mirror next to our rocking chair and I'll be honest that budget had run out and I was planning to use something we already had. And I likely should have done that because I had some good FREE options to choose from.

But then I saw this mirror from Sarah and I had to have it...I became a woman obsessed. It's just so fun to look at and I think it will be such a great touch in this corner of the room. It's currently in the mail and I can't wait to get it!
