Cuddle Chair

First of all, this is called a cuddle chair.

The Mimi Cuddle Chair, to be exact:

And it's available on One Kings Lane. For a generous sum of dollars.

But the scalloped canopy is everything. And the bamboo frame with those little floral/quatrefoil situations around the bottom. And the striped periwinkle (!) Sunbrella fabric. So luxe and ridiculously fetching.

The inspiration is free...

Catalog Pick: Carleton Varney Patio Umbrella

File this under luxury items that I will never own...Frontgate's Hampshire Designer Umbrella designed by Carleton Varney.

The scallops, bows, and florals are so wonderfully girly and delightful. I get this may not be your jam, and I have to say that I understand, but personally, I love this.

But it's also almost $3K which puts it out of the realm of reality. So it's just a fun little something to get us over hump day!

Pagoda Patio Purchase

I didn't think I would ever see this day, but it has arrived.

We have purchased a pagoda-shaped umbrella for our patio. I think I caught Carter in a weak moment.

Have I blogged about this umbrella before? I can't remember - it's from Pier 1 and I have coveted it for a long time. We went with Spice to accent our brick patio:

But if our patio had different colors, I would have gotten the Marine Blue:

There is also green, turquoise and some patterns...so many to choose from!

Of course we pulled the trigger a couple of weeks before Labor Day so we paid more than we should have, but I wasn't about to mess with Carter agreeing to buy one to wait out a sale.

But you can get a FANTASTIC deal on these guys as they are only $70 at the moment. That's crazy.

Friday Crush

Design by Amanda Lindroth, Photo by Thomas Loof for House Beautiful

Fine. Let's kick off summer this weekend. This is definitely my least favorite season of the year but I can't argue that being at the beach and grilling out and having daylight beyond 6pm are bad things. This image got me in the mood to welcome summer despite my bah humbug spirit. Mostly because I yearn for striped, scalloped awnings. And y'all know I love orange and white :)

Enjoy your weekend celebrating the Fathers in your life. I will enjoy the weekend with mine...hope it's wonderful and see you next week!

Catalog Pick: Pagoda Patio Furniture

Technically, the collection is called Glen Isle Seating in White but Pagoda Patio Furniture sounds better to me. Whatever the name, this outdoor collection from Frontgate is what Chinoiserie patio dreams are made of.

Look at those backs!

Love the bright combos shown in the styling photos. Like most things catalog, I'm not sure I would get every single piece but the chairs and loveseat/sofa are bangin'. Mix up the tables and accents to bring it down a notch and your patio will be crazy chic. It also happens to be crazy expensive, but those are minor details.

Catalog Pick: Chippendale Outdoor Dining Furniture

I can't WAIT for the day to come when we'll be able to trick out the backyard. This spring, we're focusing on sprucing up the front of the house with the hope that we have enough time left over this summer to focus on our backyard. I'm not holding my breath, but I am so looking forward to picking out a dining set to enjoy family dinners al fresco.

The style of this teak Chippendale set is likely what I would be after...the prices are a bit out of my own budget, but they are gorgeous inspiration pieces:

The website even offers cute lanterns and votives with that lovely fretwork:

I never, ever tire of Chippendale fretwork. And I love the geometric lines against the greens of an outdoor space. And don't forget about seat cushions with your outdoor furniture - not only do they make sitting in a hard chair much more comfortable, but it's a great way to add pattern and color to an outdoor space.

A Tour of the Lowcountry

Carter and I headed to Charleston, SC on Christmas day to celebrate the holiday with his family. After some quality time with parents, siblings and our adorable nephews, we stayed down South to spend some vacation time in the Lowcountry - namely Charleston, Beaufort and Savannah.

It was one of the best trips we've ever taken together and we saw and revisited some of our favorite places on the planet.

Scenes from our beautiful trip:

Wish we were still there...

More Chinoiserie for Your Patio

Remember this post where we enjoyed looking at some patio furniture with Chinoiserie flair? Well, I have another option for you and it's amazing...truly.

Look at this:

The Galante Collection from Ballard Designs. Now, if you owned this set, you would have the most chic backyard on the planet. Definitely the envy of the block. It's not inexpensive, but these are the times when paying a premium for good design is worth it. Shop it here.
