Gardener's village and the witches

Gardener's village at Halloween time is so much fun with Ride to a witch. Soso was so intrigued by the witches.

If you missed about the pink breast cancer awareness witch check here

You go on a hay ride to the witch village and then you grab the hay ride back.

We also went to the petting zoo. The kids loved the bunnies and chickens.

She was so good the whole time!

The kids really miss having chickens. This little brown silkie was a favorite.

My Fairy enjoyed the Pony rides

And face painting

So much fun!! We also got some candy and fudge. The village is so whimsical. I encourage you to take your family there! Want 2 tickets to ride to a witch? HERE

Chicken coop design and ideas on the cheap

we used to live in the woods...I loved it so much.
I dreamed about the woods last night and the fall colors...
I was very happy when i got some money to build a coop for my birthday.
I bought a $500 shed (7 by 7) at an home improvement store. We had a friend build it for us.

He extended the roof for an outside run...

Zacky there...

You have to dig all around and bury the chicken wire for predators...
This is a big coop...

This picture is the first time they poke their head outside. I raised them in my garage and they were so ready to be outside!!

All finished...

I want some day again have chickens...It was a lot of fun. Hope you enjoyed this and that it inspires you to get your own coop.

Hatching chicken eggs

I have Chicks fever...I want to incubate and hatch chicks so bad !
I have the incubator and i know how to do it.
I did it 2 years ago and loved it. It was a great learning experience.
I raise the chick in a plastic storage bin and then...
I would need a Chicken coop...
Little Mango...I helped her out of her Shell...I can remember her staring at me. She was stuck.
I miss her. We had to sell her when we moved.

The blue eggs are from easter egger Chickens. My favorite.
My other favorites are White silky Chickens. But they don't lay very well. More of a pet.

I can't resist...
It takes 21 days to incubate chicks. So i would have to start on April 4th to get chicks on Easter day.
Intrigued ? Check Backyard Chickens.com.
It is where i learned everything about chickens. I LOVE their forum...So fun !
I warn you ...This is very addicting !

Les poulets

There is nothing more French Country than having your own Chicken, mine made my lunch Today. They gave me brown, khaki and Aqua blue. My absolute favorite.

I love this rooster because he is very quite.
