Have been really feeling this line drawing/abstract body-inspired trend.  I have been trying to find the shirts shown here but for the life of me cannot find them using my well-honed internet research skills (i.e. reverse google image search/keyword search on "line drawing body print shirt"). Someone help me out??

Since we have been wearing and style-stalking gingham so much lately (as you can see from recent posts), we thought we might as well do a whole inspo/shopping post.  There are so many ways to wear it....skirt, crop top, playsuit...it all looks cute!

INSPO // Basket Bags

We've been a bit MIA...we know.  A couple of factors here, the biggest being that our photographer Rene has been in Cuba (!!!).  According to our Instagram feed, everyone is going to Cuba these days. Jealous.

Being inundated with everyone's beautiful Cuba photos, we have been daydreaming about vacations (and vacation-dressing). How cute are these lightweight straw and wicker bags?  Lightweight, so perfect for walking around all day when exploring a new city!  Especially love how Blaire manages to dress her's up and down..makes the Cult Gaia seem more practical for the price.

INSPO // Slide Mules

This isn't exactly *breaking* news, but the mule has been popping up left and right.  Now that they have been around for over a season, more affordable options are hitting stores...so you don't have to drop $700 for some Gucci slide mules.

P.S. I was on Pinterest to find some cute mules...and the search returned actual mules (the horse-donkey hybrid). To be fair, they were cute.

INSPO // Unexpected Layers

We are experiencing another wave of rain and cold, so we haven't yet broken out our flimsier wardrobe.  Until then, we are getting some ideas about how to layer them for colder weather (kind of like how Whit wore her Oak + Fort Lace Tank here).

We especially dig the crisp white shirt as a first layer.  It adds some structure to a draped top or crepe dress, and can somehow make a cropped tube top seem almost work-appropriate. We are a bit embarrassed to say that we have yet to find that one perfect button up, but we are on the hunt.  Any suggestions are always appreciated!

We love that embroidery and patches are back...and it just begs to be DIYed! We have been keeping our eyes out on some cute patches to dress up our own denim, but in case you would rather buy than DIY, some picks are below!

Embrace texture with rich velvet in muted neutrals and jewel tones.  A little bit of velvet goes a long way to bringing warmth to any ensemble.  Even a summery striped dress (as seen above) can be brought into fall with the addition of a mini velvet crossbody.

We are loving all the statement boots we have been seeing...say yes to velvet and embroidery!! That being said, we have a huge problem with this whole 'shoes on the bed thing.' We are going to give the benefit of the doubt and assume all of these shoes are brand new and/or these sheets are for the sole purpose of photos and not for sleeping. We are a bit germaphobic FYI.

We love that the animal trend keeps coming back season after season.  People who have been following us for a long time might remember how much we love animal-themed apparel (see here, here, here and here). After seeing animals making appearances during FW, both on the street and on the runway, we are looking forward to a new influx of fun animal pieces.
