I have been aware of
Filson for a while because my brother Tyler is a devotee (he cannot say enough about their canvas bags and backpacks). I was not aware they had a women's clothing line that launched in 2016.
Filson is a very function-driven brand, making all-weather, quality pieces (I mean...they were founded in 1897 as a "complete outfitter for miners, prospectors, and lumbermen"). You can definitely see their roots in the styles they offer. Oh...also, they offer a Filson LIFETIME guarantee, so you can feel confident about your purchase.
I selected the
Libby Bomber because bombers are timeless (or at the very least they always come back into style). It is a lighter jacket that is perfect for spring/summer over a top, but is also roomy enough to fit a sweater underneath for chillier months. But honestly, one of the main reasons I really like this jacket...it has SO many pockets. It is a big pet peeve of mine (and most women) that women's clothes often have tiny or non-functional pockets. This jacket has two front button-closure pockets (as you can see), and behind those are hand pockets (with a liner to keep your hands warm!) and INSIDE the jacket there is another zip pocket. I have worn this jacket out and FORGONE A PURSE. Incredible. It was nice to experience some male fashion privilege.
