Fiasco Leeds - wargames shows getting worse ?

It is my mates birthday so thought we would go to Fiasco in Leeds ,never been to Fiasco since it moved to this venue and had a wallet full of money and wanted to pick up some bits and pieces plus get some of those dreaded impulse buys .Arrived 15 minutes before doors opened and their seemed to be a disagreement about if the crowd ( about 10 of us ) should be allowed in early or not , well we were .The first stall we came to sold buns? then we hit the wargames stuff I picked up a pre order from Underfire Minis to finish my 20mm IDF then moved along to Crooked Dice and picked up my order and had a great chat about upcoming releases ,then went to the Warlord stand to pick up some bits that John wanted and then browsed the other stand and shortly afterwards ended up back at the entrance with pockets full of money and feeling we had missed a room ,after a long look at the map we walked around again desperate to find something to buy and realised it was not just my poor eyesight but the room was very dark , and  trader  after trader joked about not bringing a torch ?. I suppose im lucky that in Sheffield we have a great wargames store that stocks about 80% of what I want but usually I always come away from shows with stuff i bought on impulse but the last few Ive been too Ive not indulged as much ,I think the issue here was at least 50% of the stalls sold the same stuff , mostly warlord games items .aybe we were being unfair but we agreed we wont be coming back to this show after petrol ,expensive parking and the entrance fee it would have been cheaper to order over the internet . Longing for the old days of stalls all sellng their own stuff and being crushed trying to grab that last copy of rule set maybe I dont know but other than the chat with Karl at crooked we didn't enjoy this expereince .

Raffle Update ...first Prizes in and ticket news UPDATED 22nd Oct

This years raffle in aid of the British Legion is well under way ,we have sent requests to almost 100 traders for prize supportand and have had a few pledges and even some prize support arrive! . Tickets will be 50 pence each and available from the Wargames Emporiums Store in Sheffield ,I will also visit local clubs if you wish and again the tickets will be available on line at £5.00 for 11tickets yes you get 1 free go for having to buy in bulk . The Wargames Emporium will have the tickets hopefully on saturday 24th October and you can purchase on line by using the Donations link on the right ,just drop me an email  ( Hrichard77@aol.com) after you have purchased with your name and address and I will email you your numbers back ASAP .Below is a list of Traders who have so far pledged support and where known what they are sending as prizes and also some pics of what we have recieved so far .

Raffle update -underfire Miniatures Prize

Another great prize has arrived this time from Bill at Underfire Miniatures ,as always Bill has supported us by sending a nice selection of his wonderful 20mm Figures this time his 20mm Helmand British .They are beautiful figures which can be seen in better detail than my picture by following the link to Bill's web site which is in the our sponsors section.

Raffle update 3

20mm figure comparison

20mm figures side by side ,in the 1st photo the SHQ figure is bent forward I didn't realise until after so added another pic at the end with the fault put right .All of them are on English 1pence coins and are in varying states of readiness just grabbed from my workbench . The two cp figures show the first with the integral base and the other with a slotta type base with the tag removed as per their

 instructions .

Just a quick update ,Underfire Miniatures prize donation has arrived and its some of Bill's great Helmand Brits a popular and very nice collection of 20mm figures, also hopefully its just me panicking but a couple of the prize donations have not arrived yet and I have not been able to get in touch with the  kind people who have promised them so I am hoping that they turn up before Saturday ..not long now .

Draw 1pm saturday 9th November at the war-games emporium ,sheffield turn up to collect your prizes in person and of course buy some last minute tickets .
