A small project for 2026 will be a small to large scale skirmish game set during the "troubles " in Northern Ireland using 1St Corpos newish range of 28mm FiguresArmy Vehicles such as the Humber Pig will be from Battlefield 3D , civilin cars will be variuos Die Casts suitable for the period ,Building will probably be the Red Brick ready painted range from warbases .
Purchased afew figures to test the water and they are really nice and paint up Nicely.
Rules will be rogue Warrior for small scale and Combat patrol using the winter of discontent for a larger skirmish
First up are some of the RUC figures these are armed with rifles , there is another pack in the range i donot have yet
Next are a set of undercover S.A.S or DET all carrying small SMG's or pistols
And the last lot are 10 I.R.A terrorists /Freedom fighters depending which side you are on ,wearing a mix of balaclavas or scarfs covering their faces they are mainly armed with assault rifles but 2 are ready to take on the armies vehicles with a molotov and a RPG launcher .

Combat Patrol ww2 -The Battle of the Bulge
After playing a few game of Combat Patrol using my Falklands stuff with the free Falklands supplemnet , my long time gaming Buddy John and myself finally got our ww2 stuff out and had a battle of the Bulge based game .
We added a few rules we had not tried before such as vehicles and also tried adding the Events card and a couple of Blue cards as well , to bring reserves and other things into the game .
THe game ran very smoothly with us only stopping to consult the rule book once .
The game started well for the Germans inflicting some nasty casualties on the americans but last minute bit of lucky card drawing by the Yanks hit the Germans hard and as the bad weather (and our good ladies calling us in for tea ) brought the game to an end , we agreed that both sides had fought each other to a standstill so a draw was declared .
Really impressed with these rules and we are looking forward to playing more ww2 and Falklands games , John has down loaded the wild west and star wars supplements to use with his figure collections and I am looking at using them with my Rhodisian Bush Wars stuff .
A selection of pics from our afternoon game Figures a mix of Artiazan with a few Warlord

A Falklands Game with Combat patrol ww2
Tried a bigger game using more of the advanced rules form Combat patrol ww2 again using the Free Falklands supplement ,slightly larger forces and introducing mortors and rifle grenades . John had the Argentinian forces consisting of a HQ , a MMG group and a rifle group I had the Para's which had a HQ and 2 8 man sections .
The cardscame out better for the Para's during the first turn but after that the Argentinians fared better causing afew casualties and pinning a couple of sections ,on turn 5 The Para's mamanged ot take out afew Argies but it was too little too late and they had to fall back taking casualties alll the way , a victory for the Junta .
The game played really weel and smoothly John picked up the rules after turn two was moving through his turns without having to ask many questions ,he got ht ebug and was looking into getting the rules and some of the free army lists and supplements .
I got into the game and forgot to take any pictures other than the initial forces lined up prior to deployment.

Combat Patrol -Falklands
Had a quick trial game of Combat Patrol ww2 using the Falklands war supplement .The rules are quite different to other rule sets ,movement ,combat ,morale ,wounds and everything is determined by drawing cards .
The turn sequence is determined by drawing a card from the activation deck ,the number drawn is matched to a d6 roll made for each team leader at the beginning of each turn ,the activation deck contains 2 of each number so in theory each unit(s) can do two actions per turn but the deck contains other cards that can effect this.
When the unit(s) are activated the player draws a card from their action deck which shows any possible movement ,shooting , melee and morale outcomes with out using any dice. The way the cards have been put together is amazing with each card being diffferent so one turn you might move up tp 8 inch the next up to 5 inches , the cards contain all cover types and show how they effect any possible hits .
There are many free add ons including the Falklands war , ww2 pacific war ,Napoleonic , army lists and optional rules .
For our first game we had a small British Para patrol bumpingh in to a slightly larger Argentinian unit which was dug in, in theory the Paras had agood chance but the Cards loved the Argentinians and hated the Brits ,who had to fall back after three turns with 2 dead and 2 wounded having caused no damage to the Argentinian Marines .
Looking forward to bigger games and also using my WW2 stuff as well really enjoyed this game lots of quick action resolved quicky and no keeping lots of QRF sheets on the table or thumbing through rule books .
