May the 1st....

                                        Wow, a Lot to be done this month...
(also "Towel Day" May 25th, May the 4th "be with you", Cinco de Mayo even my Birthday... and More)So we will be rather Busy...

Today is the first day of May (also known as Beltane, and in later Catholic practice as All Saints' Day... )  We will have more on the "Festival and Feast" (as well as the "May-Pole") ....
          
Should you see "the Jack in Green" today wish him the Best, or you could just offer him a "light"....
 
                                      Also "May Monster Madness Month" !!!

We did not get signed up this year... But will post anyway (Sorry for our "failure" at the "April A to Z Challenge" ) but this one we will get "Right"...

It Has Been a Long Month.....

                                       So much in such a short period of time.....
the first of this month.....And everything was still dead from Winter's Cold.... Now everything is Green......
            
                                                 Spring is definitely Here.....
                       
                                May 1st is the "traditional" time to celebrate Spring....
"May Day" as it has come to be known.... from the Tradition of the "Jack in Green" to celebrate the welcoming of Spring and let us not forget about the "May Pole".....
..... The Old Ways... a man was elected to be the "Jack in Green", and was treated as "King for the Day".... and at the end of the day he was to stand (with his back against the May pole....)
the young virgin maidens (often young girls) would grab a ribbon's end and the girls would dance around the May pole Thus, tying him to the pole where he was burned alive as an offering to the Spring planting......  And the people were "happy"...
