We remember (around age 4) watching her on the show... (She was the reason we went around singing "London Bridge")...

                                      She seems such a pleasant and good-natured Lady...

A to Z ... Quentin Collins...

 
This character from the old TV show, "Dark Shadows"... first appeared in the show as the Ghost of himself...
 
     Only the children could see him ... He later made his presence know to the rest of the Collinswood household... (as portrayed by actor, David Shelby)

in life he was a ruthless "cad"... even murdered his poor wife (while having an affair with the maid (and even Kate Jackson)... a world-traveler, always seeking more lost Occult knowledge...
                            
                 His ghost tormented the Collins Family till they fled the house for a short while...

it is during this time that we learn (in "flash-back") following episodes of the back ground of this character and why he was locked away in a room to die... (The Collins Family did so after he murdered his wife (they could not risk such a "scandal" to their Family Name)...
                     
   He was even resurrected, as a zombie (one of the living dead) to serve the Witch for a bit...
                 
Introduced in a story-line (taking place in the late 1800's) we learn of his research into the Occult...
At one time he even owned the head of the powerful evil warlock, Judah Zachary ...
       
             Later he was cursed to be a werewolf, every month for as long as he shall live...
                            
Thanks to the talented (but little known) artist Tate,.... he had a "Dorian Grey"-type portrait of himself created... it would change into the Werewolf rather than him....

                            This portrait also aged while Quentin stayed forever young...

His studies into the Occult even led to him creating a special staircase, which could enable "time-travel"... So quite a Character...
                     
        Shelby and his character quickly gathered a very large female fan-base ...

                  A good clip to make others aware of the history of this great character...
Also a favorite of ours since early childhood... the large black and white poster of him still hangs upon the wall in my room...
 
                 
                           his story-line was even made into a popular film in the early 70's...

                   The re-make of the sequence that we posted earlier... and "updated" a bit...

              And the more recent portrayal (by Johnny Depp) in the Tim Burton version...

                          Where Willy is at work restoring the House for Mr. Barnabas....
                      

With the aid of Dr. Julia Hoffman... Barnabas attempts to build a new "Life" for himself in the modern day... as she attempts to "Cure" his Vampirism ...

As part of his "Curse" (from the spurned Witch, Angelique) Josette leapt to her death at Widow's Hill.

               But it is the Old House upon the property where dwells the vampire, Barnabas....
                     
 

                           And he has been a "creature of the Night" since the late 1700's....

"Cousin Barnabas" ... Barnabas Collins a vampire from the late 1700's... released from his chained coffin in modern times by a greedy servant looking for "treasure"...

And "Daytime TV was never the same... from the "Soap Opera" of the late 60's through the early 70's, Dark Shadows... the great Barnabas Collins...
                  
                          As we said he was turned into a Vampire by a Witch's Curse...

               as portrayed by actor Jonathan Frid... He quickly  grew in popularity of that time...

              Passing himself off as a "Cousin from England"... He introduces himself to his Family...

                          Actress and now great Author ( of Dark Shadows novels)...
                       the lovely Lara Parker of the old TV series, "Dark Shadows"...!!!

                                      Such a lovely face for such a vile character....

                         She fell in Love with Barnabas Collins ... and was "rejected"...

   So, she cursed him to become a Vampire... Which leads to our Choice for the letter "B"...

A wonderfully evil villain , the "Black Sheep" of the Collins family (in the 1879 story-line...)

                Having returned to the Family home for the reading of Grandmother's Will...

                                            Then Vicky sees Quentin as well....
                 He began as  a Ghost haunting Collinswood... only visible to the children...

                        Here is a a short bio on David Selby and the character of Quentin....

After just a bit ... the family fled the home for a while... and we learn of the background of "Cousin Quentin" and his insane wife (Whom he later  murdered for catching him and the maid together....)

Rather than risk the "scandal" to the family name, Quentin is locked away in a hidden room...
                   
                          He was even resurrected as a Zombie to do the witch's bidding....

                As long as the painting survives, he will live forever, and never age...

His studies into the "Mystic Arts" even allowed him to travel through time using a special cursed staircase.... and Selby had an even bigger "young Female-based" amount of Fans...
