The World's Nicest Checklists

I was chatting up one of my trade partners I keep in contact with on Facebook this week when our discussion turned to checklists.  I have a pretty nice checklist collection and was able to add a new checklist to my collection this week.  Seems like a pretty odd statement to make, but let me explain.  When I say checklist, most people are thinking of the almost one per pack cards like this:

Completely understandable to have a card like this in mind when you hear the word checklist, but back when Pacific was putting out their sets during the 90s their checklists were a little bit different to say the least.  First, Pacific put most of the checklists as a one per box insert.  Add in that they only made a checklist per team, so you are tracking down 30 per set, and you've got a pretty good challenge to put together a complete set of checklists.  I own most of the Pacific base sets that I enjoyed and put together the sets long ago, but not the checklists.  Seems silly, but they did make the cards cool.  Here's the checklist I picked up this week:

This is from the 1998 Pacific Paramount set, one of the best cheap boxes out there, and puts me only half way to having the full set of checklists for this set.  While assembling a complete set of checklists seems like a not so fun project, I actually really enjoy the looks of most Pacific checklists and find lots of player collectors who enjoy picking them up just strictly as a cool addition to their collections.  The Paramount set is my chase just simply because the cards are die-cut, but there are plenty of other cool Pacific checklists out there that have a cool insert set feel to them.
