Good media support for the Tony Martin era Black Sabbath box “Anno Domini 1989-1995” in Europe. I heard a strange rumour about the official Black Sabbath facebook page that I just had to check out, that they do not support anything Sabbath except for the original Ozzy era band. Turns out to be true. So 11,000,000 Black Sabbath fans that follow that page will not see this box, or these magazine covers. Absolutely disgusting politics.

Spotted this Babymetal meme on the facebook page The Wonderful World of Asian Metal & Rock, created by Mark Drummond. I asked if I could use it on Trinkelbonker and that was fine. The bus/train images are used in countless memes (I know I have seen them before), but this version is just crazy fun. Well done. Also, The Babymetal/Electric Callboy collaboration is storming the iTunes charts. The official video for “Ratatata” has notched up over 1,500,000 views in the first 48 hours. Countless reaction videos. Everybody is excited. Good times.

(Thank you Mark for letting me use the meme on Trinkelbonker, iTunes image inserted)

Just in case you wonder. I left the facebook page Svenska Deep Purple Fans yesterday. When I highlighted the Emerson, Lake & Powell box over there an admin wondered what it had to do with Deep Purple. Not the first time that this has happened. Well, true, Cozy Powell has never been part of Deep Purple itself. But he has been part of the Deep Purple Family at large in a big way; Rainbow, Whitesnake, appearances on solo albums etc. Having published 60 Deep Purple fanzines in Sweden, I know that the readers of those magazines wanted to follow the news around the family itself. Why would people not be interested in the careers and releases of people like Ronnie James Dio, Graham Bonnet, Cozy Powell etc etc (this is a large family of highly talented musicians)? Fans collect this music. So it is Bye Bye from me.

(Seen here is Deep Purple Forever! 10 and 17, published in November 1994 and May 1997)

A week ago I said that I would get back to you regarding the stats for the Babymetal (DVD review) and the Black Sabbath book posts (three of them) to see who was the biggest draw, and the results are in. And the truth is that Babymetal attracted 500% more views than Sabbath. And if you throw in the CREEM and Glenn Hughes posts (all shared on facebook as well during the last week), Babymetal still come out on top with over 300% (I drew the visitors from facebook and reddit). So yes, Babymetal has the power, no doubt about it.

I removed the Trinkelbonker facebook page yesterday. It did not work properly for the last couple of weeks and that was that. My personal facebook page (“Michael Eriksson”) is still up and I am using the top image I had with the Trinkelbonker page there now (which is the one you see here).
