My mother-in-law moved in to Stour Gate in Blandford in June ‘26. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to move very quickly and Delia the house manager could not have been more helpful and flexible in helping and facilitating the move.
My mother in law is now very settled and loves the ambience of Stour Gate, she has the freedom to come and go as she pleases maintaining her total independence with the opportunity to mix whenever she wants with her like-minded neighbours. And we could not be happier that she is maintaining her independence and enjoying a wonderful quality of life in beautiful surroundings. We thank Delia and the team for everything they do to make Stour Gate such a lovely and safe place to live.

Cherrett Court
From the moment I came into Cherrett Court, from viewing through to buying the flat, I have been made to feel very welcome by all the staff.
The staff make sure to see everyone each day and my family are please that there is someone looking out for me when they can't be here.
After cooking for myself for the last 12 years, it is such a treat to have my meals cooked for me each day and, as someone with limited mobility, the table service is a godsend.
The flat is cleaned weekly by pleasant staff and overall I am very happy to be here. Looking back, I should have moved here years ago!

Coming to the end of my first year in…
Coming to the end of my first year in Portman Court (Uckfield), I suddenly realise that I have been slow to express my full appreciation of how well this place is run and, despite having chosen it for independent living rather than for “care”, how much kindness, support and encouragement is offered by staff at every level.
Such staff cannot be easily found. All, with their varied skills and experience are obviously carefully chosen and deployed as part of a cooperative team by our remarkable Estate Manager, Julie, who clearly has ambitious objectives for all of us: for the estate, for the home owners! and, above all, for herself. The atmosphere is one of calm, unhurried comfort. Problems arise and are reliably dealt with. Little improvements, in facilities and in procedures, appear as from nowhere. And the busy staff, especially the duty managers, make efforts beyond the call of duty to encourage social life among us. All led and encouraged by the irrepressible Julie.
I chose McCarthy and Stone on the urging of my superbly efficient long-serving secretary, who retired ahead me and died only recently. I treasure her memory as much for that advice as for any of her many other talents.

I lived at the Hailes in Haddington for 4 years but due to unforeseen circumstances I moved away. I loved living there everyone was so friendly. I enjoyed all the social events that happened. The Manager (Sarah) would go above and beyond her duties to help. The cleaner (Maureen) is very friendly and had a happy smiley face.

Review of Bowles Court - Chippenham
The staff and service at Bowles Court (Chippenham) are excellent. On the occasions that my mother fell staff attended and were able to either raise my mother using state of the art equipment or where appropriate call the emergency services. The 24/7 emergency cover with someone always on site was reassuring. The restaurant was run to a very high standard. All staff were friendly and helpful.
The location was excellent being just 5 minutes walk from the town centre and a riverside terrace available to residents.
Problem resolution could sometimes be slow, particularly if it involved referral to McCarthyAndStone's HQ in Bournemouth - as it often is when dealing with very large organisations.

I wanted to share my experience of Isabella House, Hertford. My mum lived in a nice appartment with access to a lovely garden and lounge. There was a very relaxed atmosphere with very friendly and helpful residents. They really looked out for each other. The House Manager, June is amazing. She really looks out for everyone and always organises plenty to do. She was incredibly helpful when my mum wasn’t well. She has been a great support to me during a difficult time. An excellent stay in the guest suite at Stour Gate.
I stayed in the guest suite for 4 nights at Stour Gate in Blandford Forum, whilst visiting my Brother who has a flat in the development. I have stayed here numerous times before and as usual the standard of accommodation was excellent. The suite was clean, comfortable and well equipped.
Delia, the house manager was friendly, helpful and made me feel very welcome during my stay.
I will be staying here again!

Valley Court
Valley Court, Ramsbottom, is a lovely, comfortable, safe place in which to live.
It is Independent Living but you can, if you wish, be part of the community. At the very heart of our community is our house manager (Lorraine Crompton). With her competence, hardwork and enthusiasm she really does keep Valley Court a wonderful place to live.

Welcoming, helpful, honest, professional and knowledgeable advice from the manager of Banks place in Wroughton Swindon SN4 9BJ
Grace Waite answered all of our questions with a plethora of knowledge and a pleasing and welcoming attitude after we visited and enquired about available accommodation.
Grace showed us around the whole facility and shared very useful information about the living experience within the complex including multiple activities available to those who choose to take part,
Grace also showed us the grounds which were most impressive
Grace also explained the finance costs in some detail which helped us to plan how we would fund our new lifestyle.
