Neptunemon is a member of the Bagra Army. During the production of Digimon Xros Wars, there was a request of a shark-like Digimon, which at the time there wasn't many besides Surfymon, which explains why Neptunemon was eventually redesigned for the series, losing its humanoid component during the process.

Neptunemon is an Ultimate-level, Vaccine-type Digimon of the Daring personality that evolves from Hangyomon, Sharkmon or Whamon if their SP is 1190 or higher, Attack is 1940 or higher, their SPI is 1710 or higher and the player's Agent rank is 7 or above. The stat requirements can be cut off by up to 4.71x through Agent Skills. Its signature skills are Vortex Penetration (90 water physical damage to one foe; always hits; increased damage if target is of the Aquatic gene and/or if the target hasn't acted yet) and Wave of Depth (55 water physical damage to all foes; increased damage agaonst foes with the Fire gene; decreases target's water resistance for 3 turns). It is weak to Fire and Electricity, resists Ice and blocks Water.

Trivia

Neptunemon was one of 6 Digimon that had their profiles changed after the earthquake followed by a tsunami in Tohoku, on March 3, 2011. The profiles were changed with mention of such catastrophes excluded, but were soon reverted back to normal. The others were Ancient Mermaimon, Caturamon, Minotaurmon Adult, Tactimon and Whamon Perfect.
