Digimon Life (デジモン生活, Dejimon Seikatsu) is a video game.
Like the Digimon Reference Book, Digimon Life updated with new Digimon profiles every week, usually on Thursdays, in addition to the profiles it copied from the Reference Book. When profile updates were made available, they were mentioned in form of a Digimon's "eye witness report" (目撃情報), which gave a small, brief description about the Digimon in the new entry. The service was terminated at the end of March 2012. Prior to its termination, there were 596 Digimon pages available on Digimon Life.
Overview[edit]
Digimon Life is a cell phone game. Players can capture Digimon and read profiles as well as look at rare artwork. The basic game is free, although there is downloadable content that comes with a fee.
Gameplay[edit]
The "Flash game" uses your phone's location to recognize the player's location, time, weather, and season, and the player captures various Digimon that appear according to the environment.
There are over 400 Digimon featured, including national, regional, and local varieties. You can collect captured Digimon on your farm. Select Digimon from your farm to form a "Digimon Expedition Team". Send your "Digimon Expedition Team" to remote areas you normally can't reach and bring back Digimon from each region.
Collect lots of Digimon to increase your player rank. As your player rank increases, you'll be able to use the "Digimon Expedition Team" and new Digimon will appear, expanding your gameplay options.
At the Item Shop, you can purchase items to use in the "Flash Game" and "Digimon Exploration Team" in order to capture new Digimon. A wide variety of items are available, including support items to lower the game's difficulty and items that help you capture targeted Digimon more efficiently.
Additionally, by scanning with your mobile phone the special 2D barcode ("AR Code") included within related Bandai merchandise, you can summon a playable Digimon into the game.
