Profile

Orimoto Izumi is a Chosen Child, chosen by Ofanimon to inherit the Legendary Spirits of Wind. The only female of the group, she is a spunky and opinionated girl, the kind of person who doesn't go with the crowd, preferring to stick to her ideals. She is an open person who always speaks her mind, sometimes to the point of unintentionally insulting and alienating others. She is aware of Shibayama Junpei's crush on her, and though she thinks of him as a good friend, she doesn't return his feelings.

Izumi was born in Japan, but she moved to Italy with her family when she was younger. The family lived there for two years, in which Izumi found herself fitting in, becoming fluent in Italian and even learning how to make Italian foods. However, as she returned to Tokyo, she found herself unable to understand the Japanese social codes and fit in, something her outspoken personality did not help. As a result, she was shunned by her classmates, and became quite lonely.

Izumi received Ofanimon's message while she was baking a pizza at home. Thinking that it sounded like an adventure, she traveled to Shibuya Station and boarded a Trailmon with Kanbara Takuya, Shibayama Junpei, and Himi Tomoki. She was at odds with Takuya at first, but she found her place on the team quickly. When they tried to help a group of Floramon living in Breezy Village, she found her Human Spirit of Wind, evolving into Fairimon, but she was completely overpowered when the three Mushmon brothers digivolved into Woodmon.

During the battle against one of the Evil Warriors, Grottemon, Izumi sustained heavy damage from Gigasmon's attack. Her Human Spirit was stolen from her, resulting in defeat. She was left unable to evolve for quite some time and had no choice but to remain in a powerless state where she could not fight.

After running away from the Evil Warriors, a Whamon that helped the children brought them to a beach. There, they were tricked by a group of Tocanmon who were working for Ranamon, and stole the boys' D-Scanners while they were swimming. Izumi, who hadn't managed to change into her swimsuit yet, was the only one with a D-Scanner, and had to protect the boys when Ranamon Slide Evolved into Calamaramon. Calamaramon's beast power far surpassed that of Fairimon, easily overwhelming and brushing her aside, but it was only thanks to Calamaramon's lack of control over her own Beast Spirit that they managed to escape unharmed. The Tocanmon flew to another island, when the children wanted to cross, a group of Gomamon stopped them and told them it was no use due to whirlpools. The children decided to try and get by the whirlpools using a makeshift raft, but Ranamon attacked them again. Izumi evolved and tried to stop her, but she was no match and was thrown into a whirlpool. However, she found the Beast Spirit of Wind in a shell underwater, and used it to evolve into Shutumon. Although she struggled against Calmaramon even after evolving into Shutumon, with the help of her companions she managed to fight her off and drive her away, allowing the children to reach the other island with ease.

Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time

After Magnamon ran out of power and devolved to V-mon in the fight against Quartzmon's Belial Vamdemon and Venom Vamdemon army in "The Gathering of the Legendary Heroes! The Digimon All-star Showdown!!", Ichijouji Ken appeared alongside Stingmon, followed by Ishida Yamato, Metal Garurumon, and balls of light containing Chackmon, Wolfmon, Fairimon and Blitzmon. The Spirits then Ancient Spirit Evolved with Aldamon to become Susanoomon, who kept a Venom Vamdemon in place for Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode to end the three with his Giga Death. Susanoomon would stay in the form for the rest of the fight against Quartzmon.
