MINI-EXCERPT FROM A SINFUL ENCORE
“Aria, baby, I have broken every rule I wrote with you.”

“I’m not sure what that means,” I say cautiously.

His hands settle on my lower back, molding us intimately close, our legs entwined. “It means that I’m in this for keeps.” He strokes my hair from my face and tilts my gaze to his. “I know we need to let everything shake out. I know you need to get to the other side of this secret you’ve been hiding. And I know you need to see where you land afterward, but just know this: I want it to be with me. And then we’ll talk about what forever means for us. I love you, baby.”

“I love you, too. And I want to land right next to you.”

ABOUT THE SERIES
It all started with a note, just a simple note hand written by a woman I didn't know, never even met. But in that note is perhaps every answer to every question I've ever had in my life. And because of that note, I look for her, but find him. I'm drawn to his passion, his talent, a darkness in him that somehow becomes my light, my life. Kace August is rich, powerful, a rockstar of violins, a man who is all tattoos, leather, good looks and talent. He has a wickedly sweet ability to play the violin, seducing audiences worldwide. Now, he’s seducing me. I know he has secrets. I don't care. Because you see, I have secrets, too.

I’m not Aria Alard, as he believes. I’m Aria Stradivari, daughter to Alessandro Stradivari, a musician born from the same blood as the man who created the famous Stradivarius violin. I am as rare as the mere 650 instruments my ancestors created. Instruments worth millions. 650 masterpieces, the brilliance unmatched. 650 reasons to kill. 650 reasons to hide. One reason not to: him.

Beautifully wrapped up! So much love pouring off these 2.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s a love-hate situation when it comes time to read the last book of the series. You’re anxious to find out what happens but yet you don’t want it to end either.
Jones is a wonderful storyteller and incorporates so many different pieces into her stories that there’s never a chance to be bored.
The two main characters continue to develop this amazing relationship. With clues dripping in and supporting characters becoming questionable, you start getting anxious to find the truth.
Just as steamy as the other books, however, this makes a definite turn towards a touch of erotica. But it fits the atmosphere and the development perfectly. Kace and Aria are perfectly matched and you just have to love them together. Plus Kace is a delicious hunk of a man that you wish was yours! MMmm He is just sooo sweet!
With a few surprises thrown in, Jones once again gives us a story that is loaded with love, romance, deep feelings, passion, care, and concern. There are people you love to hate and some fun times too! Love it when Savage comes to hang out!
Thoroughly delicious and sizzling! You just have to grab these!
Definitely worth it!
A Sinful Encore is the gripping conclusion of the Brilliance Trilogy and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Aria and Kace are magnificent characters and the love and devotion they have for each other is amazing. This delightful, well-crafted story has angst, heat, conflict, tension, suspense, passion, and so much heart.
“Aria, baby, I have broken every rule I wrote with you.”
As a huge fan of the author, the omnipresence of characters from past series always brings me happiness as does the discovery of new member in the Walker Security’s crew. Now, can’t wait to read Adrian’s story!
What an amazing conclusion to this remarkable trilogy!
In this final edition, Kace and Aria begin to completely trust each other as they unravel the various clues they’ve uncovered. Watching Aria morph into the woman she was always meant to be, and accepting herself as such, was wonderful. I loved that she found the strength to do so.
Even more was Kace’s ability to fully open up to Aria and allow her to see everything that made him who he was, even if it included the darker side of his nature. While I greatly missed his point of view throughout this series, I did enjoy seeing his response to certain situations.
This couple are forced to move through so many scenarios until they finally solve the puzzle that has haunted Aria. Along the way their relationship continues to deepen and with those experiences, the sheer intensity of what they share is revealed.
I was particularly excited to see so many characters from past series/books. With lots of drama, a touch of wit, and a bit of angst, this book truly was the perfect ending.
This was an excellent ending to Kace & Aria Trilogy...Everyone is after the formula of The Stradivarius violin that is part of Gio and Aria family history. The suspense wrapped around not knowing who to trust and that includes Gio now that he is back and needing to explain about his disappearance and especially about Sophia. With everything unraveling around Kace & Aria, Kace will do anything to protect the woman that has brought him everything.
Walker security is the best they are there for Kace & Aria it is so awesome reading all the characters of the past especially Savage he has such an amazing big personality. Along with Adrian, Chris Merit & Sara, Blake and his wife, Kara, Savage and Candace, Mark and Crystal, even Kayden and Ella who is over the Hawks in Italy.It gave the story the extra boost reading about all the old characters knowing Walker security has protected and been apart of each of their families.
Aria Stradivari is now starting to accept the woman she is to become with the help of the love of her life Kace August. As Aria starts to have her past/memories start to surface she is faced with knowing her father had been thinking about her the entire time so when that happens Aria & Kace are thrust back to the memories that holds her father. The one and true daisy. An excellent read worth the credit
This was a great conclusion to the trilogy! I have been really enjoying Aria and Kace's story which is filled with tons of suspense since you do not know who to trust at all.
Aria and Kace are finally all in with their relationship and I was thrilled that they didn't let anyone, Gio, stand in their way. Gio is back and he has a lot of explaining to do on why is disappeared. We get answers to that as well as who Sophia is. We also learn about the formula and Aria's father's wishes. There is a bittersweet moment when Aria is faced with her past and I found my eyes filling with tears for her. Overall there is a lot happening in this book and it ties everything up nicely. I have to say I hope that Gio will get his own story sometime in the near future.
It's the end, all of the secrets have been revealed, the good guys won, and there's tons of love to finally enjoy. Kace and Aria found their happy ending, which was hard won and beautiful.
I'm a huge LRJ fan and can't recommend her books enough. If you love stories full of passion and intrigue, she should be your go-to and the Brilliance Trilogy should be on your list!
I received a complimentary arc and voluntarily read and reviewed. Many thanks to Lisa Renee Jones.
Spoiler free review
All quotes/sayings are taken from the arc and may changed in the published version.
Kace and Aria’s final book was absolutely outstanding! Lisa has nailed it completely with this book. Many of the questions were answered, for instance Where was Gio all this time? Who is Sofia? and much more. After the cliffhanger in A Wicked song I was very interested in what Gio had to say. I had to see what was going to happen next of course! A sinful encore concludes perfectly and I couldn’t ask for more. Note- to read A sinful encore you must read A reckless note and A wicked song! Looking forward to read more by LRJ.
-Plot-
All secrets have been revealed and the information was dropped perfectly. A sinful encore picks up right again from where A wicked song ends and doesn’t leave anything out. Gio, who has been missing since the start appears and he doesn’t trust Kace. He tries steering Aria away from him. You can see what happens next if you read A sinful encore. The plot is great. I think that it was everything it could be.
PLOT: 5/5
“Baby, I was alone before I met you, so damn alone. I am not alone now. I am not doing this alone. But you are right. We protect those we love. And I love you. I’m going in alone.”
-Setting-
In this book we follow Aria into Italy. I think that the landscapes where described quite well. I did like how an important part of the book near the end was in Cremona in the daisy fields. I think that it’s a gorgeous place. SETTING: 4/5
“I cannot wait to see the daisies with the one true daisy in the wind.”
-Romance-
There was some spice in this book especially with some scenes with Aria and Kace. A sinful encore focused more on the building on Aria and Kace’s relationship then to romance scenes between them. She really focused and brought attention to a relationship building. I think that the romance was on point. ROMANCE: 5/5
“My heart squeezes with my love for this man, my blood, the only family I have left. When he looks at me, I see that in his eyes, too. We are family. We can’t fail each other.”
-Writing-
Gosh, I love LRJ’s writing style. I find her writing exceptional and easy to understand. This book carried through a fast pace with scenes that’ll keep you reading and reading. Likewise this book really is a page turner. The whole book (specializing in Kace and Aria’s relationship) was well-written and very highly detailed. WRITING: 5/5
“You scared the shit out of me, baby. You don’t get to leave me, you hear me? You don’t get to leave me.”
-Characters-
Just as the last book, all the characters grew. Not just in age but more as in characteristics. Again, I loved reading from Aria’s perspective. Kace and Aria are amazing characters. I was quite skeptical about new characters introduced but they’re okay. Can’t wait to read more about the walker security. CHARACTERS 5/5
“Be you, Kace. Good, bad, ugly, sweet, wonderful, whatever. Just be you. I need things that are real in my life and so do you. I need to know the real man.” “You do, like no one else knows me, Aria.”
-Conclusion-
The brilliance trilogy is a series i’ll never forget. I loved this book to pieces and I’m sad to see it end. Though i’m very looking forward to reading more books by this author. Do I think you should read this book? YES PICK IT UP!!! After reading A reckless note and A wicked song of course. Do I recommend this to you? YESSS read this series please?!! OVERALL: 5/5
From book one I've been anxious to find out how Aria and her brother were going to reclaim their family legacy. I have to say that ending was not what I was expecting. I do enjoy when an author can surprise me.
This couple is one I will be adding to my favorites list. I adored the way Kace took Aria in, protected her and helped her stop hiding who she was. I also loved the way Aria understood Kace and his love of the violin. She encouraged him every step of the way.
My favorite thing to read about in a couple is them working together against the world instead of them working against each other. It give us a chance to see how a couple relates in times of angst and how compatible they are. I find this kind of scenario so much better than the constant pushing away you get from some couples. It's why this author has become a favorite of mine.
Getting constant updates with the Walker Security guys is another reason. We got a lot of Savage and Adrian, which I loved. Savage is such a fun character, and Adrian is intriguing and mysterious. I'm glad he's going to get his own series.
If you’ve picked up A Sinful Encore but haven’t read A Reckless Note or A Wicked Song stop reading this right now and go read those first! Come back after you’ve finished the first two books in The Brilliance Trilogy, it’ll be just a matter of days because you’re gonna devour them and be dying to read the final book. Trust me. You don’t want any spoilers.
And speaking of spoilers, you’ll get none of those here. Just know that A Sinful Encore picks up just where A Wicked Song leaves you holding your breath and saying, Whoa, I didn’t see that one coming!
I couldn’t flip the pages of A Sinful Encore fast enough for my heart and my head to keep up with all that developed and unfolded between Aria and Kace. Had to know just what happened and how the big secret was revealed at last. And most especially what happened after. And it was everything I wanted and more. ~ Missy, 5 stars
❗UNPOPULAR OPINION❗
Series that went downhill
That's the best phrase to describe my experience with this series. I was hooked while I was reading the first book. The second one was ok for the most part and I considered DNF this one.
Maybe it's just me and not the series but I didn't want to finish this book. There were things that I enjoyed but for the most part I was really bored.
I can't say much about the book other than some of the side characters that were a really big part of the second book were only mentioned in this one and even more were added, to an extent that it made me really confused about who did what. I didn't like the ending that much, except for a small part of it.
I'm not sure I'll read the stories of the side characters, I'm not that interested in them...
I guess these books weren't for me 🤷🏻‍♀️
Gio's back! But he's not about to let his sister be with someone he doesn't trust, and it appears he doesn't trust Kace. Will Aria allow her brother to drive a wedge between her and the man she's fallen hard for?
This conclusion to the Brilliance Trilogy was pitched perfectly - the relationship was in the forefront as Kace and Aria's feelings grew, stabilized, and became something quite beautiful. The steam rose and the chemistry between the two was even hotter this time. I truly felt Kace and Aria were finally on the road to the happiness they deserved.
I have loved every page of this entire trilogy, reading as Aria and Kace fell in love, even with all the secrets and pain that surrounded them, as they grew to trust each other, searched for answers, and found true happiness. Everything about this trilogy is LRJ signature - the suspense, the building emotions, and intimate and physical connections that practically melted my Kindle. I'm going to miss these two, and can only hope they make some cameo appearances in coming series.
A powerful finale for an intense trilogy. Musical secrets, dramatic characters, and thrilling romance.
The mystery really thickens in this final book. I loved the suspense that suffuses the atmosphere. Gio reappears in a blaze of mistrust and anger, setting Aria and Kace on edge. This couple truly exploring their intimacy, both emotional and physical. Hot all around!
Enemies abound while this persecuted couple is trying to claim their future together. I loved the scenes with the cupcakes, the onspot film reference, and the Walker Security men. It was a mixture of sharp wit, sophisticated love, and never knowing where the true danger really lurks.
These passionate characters delve deeper into their bond, and I relished how they prove their love to each other again and again. Also, the steady suspense is intensified by the ambiguous push of Gio, Aria's brother. Is he friend or foe? That was a great pulling force for the whole story. I would have liked more action around this character's resolution. A book for him would be great, too ;-)
I thought that the secret formula for the violin creation was revealed in a compelling fashion which reminded me of the magical quality surrounding the final scene in The Da Vinci Code.
Many characters come to jo in forces with Aria and Kace to add their own brilliance to the strong alliances forged here, and I loved to see them all. Suspense and dark ambitions mix with love and secrets in an ending filled with friendship and bittersweet legacy. I cried over the last chapters.
“This is my fairy tale come true. And I’m fighting for my happy ending.”
Yay! The wait is FINALLY over. Lisa Renee Jones’ Brilliance Trilogy reaches an electrifying crescendo in A SINFUL ENCORE, and this romance maestro wraps things up in a WONDEROUS way!
PREMISE:
Passion and peril, secrets and subterfuge collide as Aria Stradivari and Kace August unravel the final clues to the cryptic mysteries that have been hovering over them since they first laid eyes on each other. Picking right up where book two left off, the search for Aria’s brother, Gio, comes to a screeching halt when she walks into her collectibles shop and comes face to face with her missing sib! But it’s hardly a joyous family reunion, for Gio is out for blood and none too pleased to find his baby sis cozying up to Kace! But where’s Gio been all this time? How does his disappearance tie into the mystifying notes he’s been receiving from “Sofia?” And what’s his true association to the nefarious Blue Owls?
As we embark on the pulse pounding final act of Aria and Kace’s sizzling hot romance, we get answers to all that and more, including whether Gio switched alliances and if the puzzle surrounding the coveted Stradivarius violin formula will EVER be solved. But despite the danger and duplicity dogging them at every turn, they vow nothing will ever tear them asunder. However, the stakes have never been higher for this desperately in love duo, and as dirty skeletons are unearthed and treacherous secrets exposed, Aria and Kace’s tantalizingly tumultuous relationship will continue to be tested in unfathomable ways. When all is said and done, will they be the last ones standing?
MY MUSINGS:
A SINFUL ENCORE was très magnifique! The final act in this rousing romantic symphony, which is bursting with all-consuming love, nail biting drama and spine-tingling suspense, took my breath away, had me blinking back tears and made my heart SING WITH JOY! As this superbly crafted last book races to the finish, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Yet at the same time, I wanted to savor each and every resplendent moment.
There is an art to Ms. Jones’s writing, and each and every scene she pens is splashed with gorgeous brush strokes of vibrant color, stylish subtext and pure majesty. At the core of this trilogy, of course, is the star-crossed romance between the Stradivari heiress and world famous violin rocker, and with their lingering trust issues FINALLY resolved, they can revel in their love as they focus on facing down their enemies and piecing together the final clues in the Stradivari mystery that’s been haunting them both. As it turns out, the answers they seek about her family secrets “lies in Kace,” in his songs, and in Aria as well. But will they solve the puzzle before it’s too late?
These two beautifully infallible soulmates have come so far since the beginning of this series and the everlasting love and total acceptance and unwavering trust that’s forged between Aria and Kace is SPELLBINDING! And as the emotional intimacy between them deepens so does their electrifying passion. The physical expression of love between these MCs has always been charged with high octane emotion and hot, burning intensity, but LRJ took things up a notch in this last book as the erotic encounters escalated to a new level of hotness! And I am talking about the four-alarm variety because their kinky power exchanges—an intoxicating concoction of love, desire, pain and pleasure— are guaranteed to SET YOUR KINDLE ON FIRE!
And gah what can I say about these characters that haven’t been said before? Kace in all his DELICIOUSLY BROODY, MYSTERIOUSLY SEXY, MOUTHWATERINGLY MASCULINE PERFECTION made me melt!! And while this leather and denim adorned violin rocker could have his pick of adoring females, his heart only beats for one woman. Aria. And this beautifully beleaguered, smart and sophisticated, utterly luminous heroine is fully deserving of his complete devotion. Since she was a young girl, her life has been shrouded in secrets and tainted by tragedy. The arduous journey that she’s been traversing has been filled with pain and uncertainty, hope and heartbreak, deception and danger, yet through it all, her strength, courage and innate kindness always shone through. And as she steps out of the shadows and fully embraces her family legacy, she evolves into the extraordinary woman she’s always been destined to be!
Yet as her quest for answers to her family mystery finally reaches a head, she has a secret weapon that no one saw coming. For Kane August is so much more than a celebrated violinist who rocks Aria’s world. Or the powerfully dominant/tender-hearted lover who lays claim to her body and soul. But in him she also has a LOYAL ALLY and DIE-HARD PROTECTOR who will stop at nothing to keep her happy and safe and help her find the answers she so desperately seeks. Sigh! I love how his hero “is a perfect contradiction. A man who is both sensitive and seductive, "demanding and fierce, damaged but never broken, and most of all," Aria's "warrior" in her “time of need.”
However, Kace also wrestles with his own dark demons, and Aria is his rock of Gibraltar throughout it all! There is a dangerous, razor-sharp edge to his famous persona that he hides from the public eye but in her presence he allows her ALL EXCLUSIVE ACCESS to his tormented psyche. But Kace’s grittier, more ruthless nature does not repel her. Not by a longshot.
“I don’t love only a piece of you, Kace. I love all of you.”
Speaking of this enigmatic hero, I really wish we had gotten Kace’s POV throughout this series, but due to the author’s deeply nuanced storytelling, I felt like I knew him intimately, nonetheless. And, as per her MO, there are plenty of thrilling, unexpected plot twists to keep us on our toes, highly entertaining cameos from the good guys (Mmmm Salvage!!) who ALWAYS protect their own, and dastardly machinations from some unsavory foes! And ultimately, the manner in which this wildly addictive series concludes is Exhilarating. Heartfelt. And UTTERLY RAPTUROUS!! And while it’s sad to bid adieu to this trilogy, the beauty of this author’s books is how past characters often cross over into each other’s stories. So, I have every confidence that we have not seen the last of Aria and Kane!
BOTTOM LINE:
A SINFUL ENCORE was everything I could have dreamed of in a blockbuster finale! Teeming with heart pounding mystique and musical artistry, love and agony, passion and pathos, it struck every chord and ended on a BRILLIANT high note!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
A Sinful Encore by Lisa Renee Jones
Aria Stradivari and Kace August have finally started to trust one another. Aria's brother, Gio, has come back, and this puts a spanner in the wheels for the trio. Gio does not trust Kace and thinks he is hiding something. But is it a case of those that accuse have more to hide? And what exactly is the connection between Gio and the Blue Owls?
As the walls start to crumble Aria needs to make a decision, one where she tells the world who she is. Will this bring her more harm or will it bring her closer to the truth?
The plot thickens with suspense, the romance sizzles and danger lurks all around them. Will the violin formula ever be solved? When the secrets start to unravel, it seems that the rocker violinist and the Stradivari heiress have more in common than they realized. Ms Jones has given us a wonderful story, full of passion, suspense and overall a very enjoyable story.
From beginning to end, The Brilliance Trilogy held me captive. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the final book but also wished that it wouldn’t end. Kace and Aria’s story was beautiful, heart-wrenching and so full of love. The love that they had for each other as well as for family.
I felt like a part of me came home with Mark and Crystal and Chris and Sara, Savage. Now, full circle as Kayden and Ella join the story. I couldn’t have been happier to have the whole family together again. Now, we get to add Kace and Aria and … Gio. I wasn’t sure if I would fit him into this tightly knit family but, in the end, he not only fit, he earned his place. Hopefully, someday, he will have the happily-ever-after that his sister found.
I’m not going to get into the story … too much to go through … no spoilers. But, what I can say without giving anything away is that you won’t be disappointed and you won’t believe the ending. The ending slayed me, brought tears to my eyes and truly made me both happy and sad. Happy with the way Kace and Aria ended up but sad that it was over. It was like I was on an adrenaline rush and then came crashing down. My heart broke a little that I wouldn’t be living Kace and Aria’s life anymore. But, I hope to see them again … soon.
Sit back, get a drink, put on a little violin music and enjoy the beautiful, engrossing and intriguing ending to The Brilliance Trilogy. Here’s hoping you find your one true daisy in the wind.
A wonderful conclusion
The third book in the Brilliance Trilogy, A SINFUL ENCORE was a wonderful conclusion. From the very first book, this trilogy was a heartracing suspenseful read, and this final book was no different. Aria and Kace are continuing to chase down the mystery of the Stradivarius formula, attempting to solve all the secrets along the way.
The relationship between Aria and Kace has continued to evolve, and the trust between them becomes vitally important is they are to succeed. I love that Aria's character continued to grow from strength to strength and she was able to become the woman she was always destined to be. I also loved that Kace was able to divulge all his secrets, even his darker ones, and could give Aria his complete trust. Being able to see the true Kace was exquisite, this man was confident, dominating ... yet tender and loving.
Even though Ms Jones concentrated more on the romance between Aria and Kace, she was still able to bring forth the mystery and suspense that I have come to love in her writing. What is the mystery of the Stradivarius formula? How will the answer be divulged? What of Gio? What was the mystery behind his disappearance and reappearance?
Yet again another superb read from Lisa Renee Jones. Many surprises and many old friends to catch up with. Definitely a recommended read.
Aria and Kace’s finale was off the charts amazing! I did not want to put this book down! After the cliffhanger in part two I was ready for Gio’s explanation and boy this author did not disappoint!
What did I like? Kace and Aria have some steamy scenes in this part which I really loved. They are so attuned to each other that it’s nice sometimes to see the attraction really ignite. I thought this book was a bit longer than the other two which I love because the author really does deliver the action in this one. I also enjoy it when she encompasses past characters with new ones! Great series! Five stars!
Would I recommend or buy? This author writes some tantalizing tales that I can read over and over. I’ve been hooked since the inside out series and just know I’m in for a good time when I get my hands on one of her books!
I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!
Kace and Aria’s story has been roller coaster ride since the very beginning and the conclusion to their story is no different. So much was packed into this book and all those burning questions from the first two books are FINALLY answered, like who is Sofia? And where was Gio?
I have loved Kace and Aria from the beginning. Their chemistry is insane and it only got better throughout this book. I loved how Kace was with Aria. He brought out who she was always suppose to be. She grew so much throughout this trilogy. Aria did have some doubts on who to trust at one point, should she stick with her only family member or with the man who has completely captured her heart.
A Sinful Encore, is sinful, it is addictive, captivating and will have you on the edge of your seat from the very first page to the very last. This trilogy is a MUST READ!
A Sinful Encore is a fantastical conclusion to the Brilliance Trilogy. You get all the answers you are searching for and then some. I love where Lisa Renee Jones takes us with Aria and Kace. I seriously could not get enough of the passion, the love and the rollercoaster ride that is Aria and Kace. You feel everything that Aria goes through when it comes to her family and why she is the target. Kace and Aria are so sexy together. I really couldn't get enough of this series. The Brilliance Trilogy is my favorite series by Lisa Renee Jones so far. I love the danger, passion and the whole package we are given in who are Aria and Kace. I really hope you enjoy the ride that is Kace and Aria as much as I did. Go one click this one and the series now.
5 SINFUL ENCORE STARS!! What an ending!!! This has been a crazy ride with Aria and Kace, but what a ride it has been. This author gave us what we readers want in a fantastic story...all the up and downs with suspense. I can't get enough of her words....I would read her shopping list.
This story pulled me in from the first book. The Stradivarius family, a mystery centuries old, murder, a rock star violinist...... What more do you need? I really enjoyed the ending to this series and felt she was able to wrap it up in a way that fit. I did become bored with Aria's introspection at times as well as some of the sexy times in the book. It often seemed like the author was trying to make the connection between Kace and Aria so deeply woven that it felt rushed or unrealistic. Overall, it was a quick, easy, but enjoyable series. My first books by this author but I would be happy to read more.
Finally, the finish. Not what I was expecting, but still a good story. Again, several errors that should have been caught by proofreading. That’s a disappointment. Could have been better without trying to edit to read….
Here I am once again giving a low rating to a romance book because I find a lot of behaviors problematic and toxic...
I truly liked and recommend the first installment of this series, but unfortunately all the elements that I loved in the first books were not here.
A SINFUL ENCORE is the third book in the Brilliance series. This series must be read in the order of release.
I am always amazed at how books seem to come to me at pivotal points in my life. This series has an under theme of suicide prevention. Kace and Chris Merit (from the Inside Out series) are working together on a charity to raise awareness and money for this cause. I received this book on the same day that I found out that my ex-husband had made that “permanent solution to a temporary problem.” (Those are the words from a Jimmy Buffett song that I always use to define suicide.), though my ex’s was not a temporary problem. Each mention of suicide in the book was a stab in this new wound, and yet it also is helping me to heal more quickly.
As always, books are my escape from reality, even when they are pushing that reality into my face. In this instance , I believe they helped me to cry in healthier ways. Then help me to escape into the world of romance and intrigue because it’s not all about suicide. Suicide is a very small under theme.
Now, what you really want to know. Kace and Aria’s whirlwind romance has been captivating from the first book and it continues to the last page… to the last word. Every woman wants a man who is as experienced, yet drops every past to permanent devotion for her. To know that she has his undivided attention and there is no doubt that Aria has Kace’s devotion.
I loved (most) of the surprises. I won’t say why I say most, because I hate to give away spoilers, but the reason is personal, nothing against the writing. I love the heat, the sizzle, and the romantic suspense that kept me glued to my kindle for a full trilogy. I loved visiting old friends while falling in head over heels in love with this new couple that included the world of music that I already loved. Yes, this series had everything that I loved, and I highly recommend it.
You do not need to have read any other series of Lisa Renee Jones in order to start here, but I do recommend starting here if you haven’t previously read anything else. You’ll fall in love with her too!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
This summary certainly doesn’t do the story justice, but let’s just say that we get to see so much turmoil and uncertainty in this last book that you are forced to truly ask yourself who is on wha side. We have been through the ringer with this couple, watching Kace and Aria grow stronger, even though it seems like their pasts are tearing them apart. There are so many pieces of a joined history that they didn’t realize that when it all comes out, there’s further validation that they are potentially right for each other. Assuming the world doesn’t keep them apart.
We spend much of this third installment under the watch of Walker and the security guys that we’ve come to love and adore. We see the return of Gio and learn that maybe there’s more to everything that’s going on and that he’s actually a part of rather than working to thwart efforts. He has been hunting the family secrets for far longer than Aria was aware and brought fear and terror to their door step. Was he setting Aria and Kace up or is he really trying to save everyhitng?
The hunt for the sacred formula to make the Stradivarius continues, with a few new violins showing up for sale. While Kace and Aria work to make contact with those instruments, there’s always the uncertainty that they are being set up and we see the help of Kayden and Ella from Italy come in at the right time to aide in their hunt.
What we learn in this story is that there are far more secrets that everyone has than what they even admit. There are relationships that aren’t what they seem either now or even in the past, and those raise more questions on whether you’re willing to continue to believe what you feel is real or if you want to begin to question everything. There are ghosts from the past that are raised in this story for both our leading characters, and there’s closure that comes with each as well. We see foes come up against them again and again, and we often see those foes end up dead or just away from the center of the story forever. It’s a good way to bring the series to a close, and yet there’s still so much that remains uncertain.
What I do know is that we get all the trademark LRJ in this series – and it’s something that I truly love more than other authors. There’s the right balance of angst and anxiety. There’s so much turmoil yet so much trust and passion that we are really kept moving in this story at a good clip. I loved being back in the Riptide world and I can’t wait to see where we go next.
Oh, my goodness. I absolutely LOVED this series and the final book certainly did not disappoint. I have been patiently waiting for this book to come out and it lived up to the hype.
This is the final story of Kace & Aria. They are the two remaining links to the formula for the beautiful and highly sought after Stradivarius violins. Because of that, they are also hunted by people that want to kill them for the formula. Aria's brother, Gio, who has been missing since the beginning of the series, finally shows up and he begins to question everything and everyone. He tells Aria that Kace can't be trusted. Kace tells Aria that Gio can't be trusted. Aria is conflicted - Gio is basically the only family she has known for some time and she wants to trust him, but then a few of his actions make her question whether that trust is possible.
Sofia is finally discovered in this book also and you surely won't forget her.
This book is a fast paced book that has you jumping from one mysterious scene to another - I even doubted myself for awhile as to who the good guys were. This book also take us to Italy, Aria's birthplace where we are further introduced to her early years.
I truly adored this series and I hate to see it end. Lisa Renee Jones writes wonderful mystery romance series that are just the right amount of drama, romance, mystery, intrigue, knowledge about subjects I previously didn't know much about and the depth of her characters really make you feel as if you are living alongside them.
If you haven't read this book, please do - but AFTER you read the first two in this trilogy or it really won't make much sense. And if you haven't read the rest of Lisa Renee Jones' books, grab them - I'm currently going through the Tall, Dark & Deadly series and I first read her through the Naked Trilogy (which I LOVED). Check out her books - you won't be disappointed.
I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.
Ms. Lisa Renee Jones! YOU are my Maestro, your art of writing is beyond exceptional! Congratulations on taking A Sinful Longing home to the land of Love and Amour. The place where one daisy is in the wind! You certainly know how to command your audience with such skill. This trilogy is a brilliance rendition of what we call the Masetro's masterpiece. WELL DONE! 🎻🎻🎻❤
To the readers who read my review. Know that this trilogy left me with a new love for the violin and the sound of classical music. It is truly amazing the beauty of the sound. Thank you Lisa Renee Jones for a masterful series.
Bravo on A Sinful Encore. I found myself floating though the story like the notes on the music. It was fluid with precision. I fell in love early on with Aria Stradivari and Kace August. The mystery of a beautiful daughter trying to find the formula of her ancestry's violin.
Watching these two characters drawn to each other like a moth to the flame is by far one of the highlights of this romance. Trying to fight all the obstacles that continue to put up barricades. Finding her brother return only causes more friction and distrust. Learning of the song that Kace wrote with her father. Aria is overwhelmed but falling more in love. Yet dying inside over her brother and his disconnect with her. Aria is drugged when she goes to meet Gio to try to reason with him only to find he goes dark and disappears. Its then that Aria decides it is time to come out of hiding return to Italy and preserve the memory and bring honor to her father and her families dynasty, to bring the Stradivarius home. Walker Security for their guidance and assistance in helping her to find her way back to Italy with the assistance of Kayden (the Hawk) Wilkens and his wife Ella and ex CIA agent to gain her safe passage with Kace.
In her return to Italy she meets her fathers long time friend to learn that it was always her fathers wish for her to meet Kace "The One True Daisy in the Wind" . He left a one of a kind Stradivarius Violin for Kace who donated a violin to the Museum there in memory of her family.
How the history of such a collectible violin can bring so much pain and yet so much beauty and love is fantastically crafted by the playing of a violins incredible and the beauty is extraordinary.
