The chemistry between Medra and Blake is off the charts. I love a good enemies-to-lovers trope, and this one hits all the right boxes. Medra may be a prisoner in a foreign land, but she refuses to bow before the cruel vampires who want her for her connection to the ancient dragon riders.
Blake wants nothing to do with the beauty he found among a pile of dead bodies, but he can't deny his body's attraction to her. When his ruler uncle charges the annoying Medra to be his betrothed (his second one), it creates complex feelings of possession and disparagement—a toxic mixture that makes the deadly challenges they face at Bloodwing Academy twice as dangerous.
