She was smiling at him in a slightly predatory way that made him feel a little hunted. Venom liked it. No woman had ever looked at him that way. Like he was her prey.
I enjoyed the flirty banter between Holly and Venom in Archangel's Viper but sadly it seems to be my least favorite book in the series so far.
The plot got interesting for me after I hit the 50% mark and the build up of the romance wasn't satisfying for me. Something is missing.
The pacing was another issue too.
But... it's always a joy to return to this world. Can't wait to see where the story takes me next!...more

He looked into her eyes, loving every flicker of that untamed storm within. "I always said you’d be the end of me,’ he told her, throat bobbing. ‘But I was wrong. You’re the beginning."
Now this is what you call an epic finale!!
I turned the very last page with a heavy heart knowing it's time to part ways with these characters [until I revisit them in the spin-off series "Ashes of Thezmarr”].
But I will dearly miss Thea and Wilder's journey. They faced so many trials and challenges but their love was so powerful it persevered through it all.
I have to applaud Helen for writing such incredible and nerve-wrecking battle scenes. The sense of dread was so tangible and the stakes felt real, it kept me on edge because the scenes were truly brutal.
I know that I've gotten emotionally attached to the story and the characters when certain scenes bring me to tears and damn it did. Even while I'm typing this review and recalling some of those scenes I'm already getting teary.
And while the story mainly follows Thea and Wilder, all the other supporting characters had important roles to play and made a difference. There are times when authors usually forget the supporting characters or keep them in the background, but these characters are wonderfully-written and Helen gave them moments of spotlight as they deserve.
Despite having sort of a bumpy start for me, I definitely consider this series a favorite among my favorite fantasy romance books of all time.
Thank you Helen Scheuerer for gifting us this world and these characters. Perhaps I'll revisit this story one day and I am looking forward to Ashes of Thezmarr as I suspect it will follow a potential couple I started rooting for recently ...more

"When I stand against the gods at the end of my days,’ he told her fiercely, ‘I will regret nothing. Not the lies I’ve told, nor the lives I’ve claimed or the rivers of blood I’ve spilt. I do not regret a single moment, because every one of them led me to you."
Best. Book. In. The. Series.
I could not put it down!!
This book was filled with action and I did not have a moment of rest I needed to know what was going to happen next. There was this haunting sense that something omnious was about to happen.
The character development truly paid off and I am truly enjoying Thea and Wilder both as individual characters and as a couple.
I was a little worried with the development of their romance since I felt it was a bit rushed at the start, but it continues to be deliciously angsty and they have such a fiery chemistry between them. My heart hurt so much for both of them and you wouldn't get that feeling out of me if I wasn't attached to the characters.
The stakes now are VERY HIGH! Helen shredded my nerves and I need someone to check on me while I'm reading the next book which is the finale and I'm scared.
Aside from the romance, I really love the found family dynamic and the relationship both Thea and Wilder have with each of their friends.
I am very pleased that I got so many answers to the questions and mysteries that have been floating around since the first two books.
Before reading this installment I highly recommend to read Slaying the Shadow Prince, it's a standalone but connected to this universe and you'll eventually know why.
I have no patience, I need to get to the finale right away!

‘You are a spectrum of colour in the shadows. You pull me back towards the light…’
Slaying the Shadow Prince is a spicy fantasy romance standalone featuring a scorching romance between a fiesty Noblewoman-turned-Ranger and a celebrated Warsword with a dark secret.
Drue Emmerson is on a quest to avenge the death of her mother and brothers who were killed by vicious creatures called Shadow Wraiths.
As soon as Drue meets Talemir Starling, the famed Warsword of Thezmarr, she could tell something about him is not right, something that is shrouded in darkness.
Drue and Talemir strike a partnership and embark on a deadly mission with their friends and allies—but even as the Ranger and the Warsword begin to fall in love, can Drue accept Talemir's secret and darkness?
First, this standalone is connected to the Legends of Thezmarr series and it's a prequel, if you're reading the series I highly suggest reading this after Vows & Ruins (book 2) as per the emotional reading order by the author. I think it can still read it before starting the series even.
Second, Drue and Talemir were such a fiery couple!! Despite being a warrior, Talemir has such a soft side to him and Drue was his perfect match with her fierceness. They're not exactly enemies but the tension between them was *chef's kiss*.
There is a generous amount of humor and angst drizzled all over the story. The found family dynamics were served well, especially Talemir and Wilder's bond.
I'm starting the Legends of Thezmarr series and following the emotional impact reading order which recommends starting with The Alchemist'4 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm starting the Legends of Thezmarr series and following the emotional impact reading order which recommends starting with The Alchemist's Vow novella first.
A short and sweet novella that sparked my intrigue about the story and helped me warm up to the characters.
Now onto Blood & Steel!!
Note: you can get this novella for free by going to the author's website, you'll find the author page that has the book description and sign up to Helen's newsletter to receive the e-book via email for free....more

I’m not sorry I kissed you,” he clarified, and my eyes found his then. “But I’m sorry I did it when you weren’t mine to kiss.”
I'm utterly devastated.
This book shredded my nerves and obliterated my emotions. Tears were falling down my cheeks I was so gutted. This book cut me open and hit a little too close to home.
There are tropes that would immediately make me call it quits and move on to another book but... the author showcased how beautifully flawed humans are. How complex relationships are.
Even if the love is reciprocated, is it ever the right time?
I won't sugarcoat it, the romance is messy and at times toxic, but it somehow felt real to me. Even if I could easily say "well if they just communicated it wouldn't have dragged this long" but sometimes it's not as simple as that.
Life happens. It changes us. It puts us through hell.
Anguish, devastation and longing were dripping from these pages, but the love was constant.
Don't expect that you will be constantly rooting for these characters, they will make you angry and they will make mistakes. You'll see their growth from their teenage years up to adulthood. They are far from perfect but they are human.
Even though it wasn't a perfect love story, but it was impactful. It reminds me a bit of One Day.
If you want an emotionally gripping love story that will have you biting your nails and pulling your hair out, this is the book!
The content warnings might include minor spoilers, but I have to add it for sensitive readers.
Content warning: toxic relationship, parent death, cheating, infidelity, brief mentions of alcoholism, mention of off-page r*pe in the past [not FMC], grief....more

My body and soul ache to make her mine. Claim her. Love her. Worship her. Tell her every day how perfect she is.
Wreck My Plans was such a heart-melting holiday romance with some delicious spice and sexual tension that will have you kicking your feet in the air.
Tip: grab a fan before you start this book.
If you enjoy a man who is so down, SO DOWN for the woman who had been haunting him for three years after he left, once he's back it's going to be very hard to resist the simmering attraction between them.
The main characters were such a delight and so were the side characters. There's generous amount of humor drizzled all over the book but the emotional scenes were the ones that kicked me in the gut.
I feel like midway the pacing slowed down a bit but it didn't ruin the experience much.
This is definitely one of my favorite holiday reads and I'll be rereading this some time in the future! ...more
