“You’re perfect,” he says faintly. “I can hardly stand it.”
If Not for My Baby is a swoony rockstar romance following a small town girlie who is not looking for love but an opportunity comes and she finds herself on tour and falling for the Irish megastar whose voice makes even the heavens weep.
The book can be summed up in three words: Steamy. Tender. And full of yearning.
23-year-old Clementine is afraid to fall in love, but she had no chance around 6ft chocolate-haired Tom Halloran who pours out adoration like poetry.
Halloran reminds me why I appreciate men who exude gentleness and softness. The way this man yearns made me melt on the inside especially around someone who is so hesitant to open up her heart.
Clementine was relatable in the sense that she's very guarded with her heart and it rubbed on an old wound that made me understand her hesitation. Seeing her break those walls gradually was quite satisfying.
This book made me want to dive in and listen to the music, Golden incorporates poetic lyrics beautifully.
would like to thank the author for the opportunity to read an advanced reader's copy of this book! Review reflects my own reading experience....more

“What I feel for you is beyond reason — beyond duty and desire. You have tipped my whole world on its side, and you are the one clear thing in the chaos.” His nose brushed the end of mine. “You. I want you.”
In the Veins of Drowning ensnares you with it's dark ambience as it pulls you deeper into an eerie fairytale of Sirens and Gods.
The romance crackles with tension, rage, and heated passion which simmers off the page.
For fans of soul bonds, there is a unique twist to this but I'll keep it spoiler-free *wink*
Sirens are one of my favorite mythical creatures, they're ethereal creatures that can either be benevolent or malevolent—and the author adds a unique touch in this story.
I appreciate the gothic backdrop as it immersed me into this world and I felt as a phantom companion to the characters who embark on a journey that will unveil secrets, prophecies, and dangerous revelations.
As a self-proclaimed lore nerd, I devour any lore crumbs sprinkled within the pages and I will still admit that I am starved for more, especially for the magic system.
I am always appreciative of stories where a woman breaks the chains she is shackled to, and Imogen's journey has just begun. Her entire life and identity is wrapped in dark secrets so that made me feel so much for her. Meanwhile, Theo is yet to win me over entirely, I like him but I'll be selfish and hope for more groveling.
This duology will likely conclude with the next book, looking forward to see how the story wraps up!

“I am not a victim. I am not helpless. I am not a project. We all yearn for the impossible from time to time. For the moon. That does not mean we cannot live productively and even happily with what is possible. The earth. Most of us can dream our dreams while also living our reality.”
This is a very low-stakes and sweet regency romance and fetaures disability rep (FMC) which I appreciated, it just lacked some flavor.
When you have two characters that are falling in love but are of different statuses (Lady x Bastard), you'd expect more angst and higher stakes but there was barely any. ...more

They had always been each other’s North Star. Adi and Blue. Sparkle and Bluebell. Illium and Aodhan.
I was bursting with excitement the closer I got to this book because Illium and Aodhan's bond stood out to me so beautifully and I knew once I get to their book that I'd be even more obsessed with them!! This is how you do childhood friends to reluctant lovers.
Probably my favorite couple after Elena and Raphael!! Sorry Dmitri and Honor but at least you're the 3rd.
I don't even know where to start but I think Nalini brilliantly layered their story in a way that I got to experience first-hand how their beautiful friendship as children blossomed, and then there were the devastating and dark chapters of their lives and how it shaped them, and then the distance, the tension, and eventually giving in to what their hearts wanted.
This love is one of the most pure and powerful of all the other ones I've read about (second to Elena and Raphael). It's endearingly innocent and intensely emotional.

“You are mine, Odessa.” It was a growl, more animal than human. And the shiver that cascaded down my spine might as well have been my own blades, cleaving me in two.
I've been craving an enemies-to-lovers romance through arranged marriage and Shield of Sparrows hit most of my sweet spots.
I devoured it! It was a good set up for the first book despite the glacial pacing of the plot and romance.
Perry was quite intricate in building the lore within this world and I do enjoy learning about it when it's evenly scattered throughout the book.
There were moments where I was desperate for something to happen, for anything, and I appreciate the experience of gaining more knowledge with the heroine about her surroundings but I needed the wheels to turn faster. Luckily I had some patience in me this time to follow the story despite its pace but if I didn't I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much.
In a way it reminds me of the Bridge Kingdom, but damn did it get gruesome and darker—like what the hell was that ENDING?! I had to hold in my breath and luckily I didn't black out.
Very interested to see where the story is heading next! Can't wait for book 2!!...more

He is what’s wrong with me. After so many years being dead inside, James makes me feel alive.
Watch Me is the first installment in the Shatter Me: The New Repubic series which takes place 10 years after the events of the original Shatter Me series.
Our baby James takes the lead but he is baby no more. At 21 years old, he embarks on a reckless mission to infiltrate Ark Island, the last refuge of the Reestablishment.
It comes at no surprise that the Reestablishment is still a looming threat, not everything can be fixed within a decade. The New Republic may represent hope to those that have suffered under the Reestablishment's rule, but to those who were hungry for power? It fuels their desire for vengeance.
This new series also features an enemies-to-lovers + forbidden romance dynamic! It's so interesting to see the roles reversed in this one. Rosabelle reminds me a little of Aaron Warner but she's quite hollow too. What she experienced and witnessed in her life is nothing short of horrifying.
Also, what's Tahereh's deal with making sisters suffer?
With that being said, Juliette and Aaron content? 1000000/1000000!!! I love them so much.
I am intrigued and a little surprised with the developments of some characters and their relationships but I won't say more.
The new villain seems quite cunning and messed up in a way that scares me. I just know Tahereh will continue to shred my poor nerves as if I didn't suffer enough.
I think this book sets the stage for the story to become even more amazing and emotional.

To the world, she is formidable. To me? She is the world.
I can officially say that this series has become one of my all-time favorite series.
It took me almost a week to finish it and during this time I experienced joy, sadness, relief, devastation, hope, and grief alongside these characters.
I laughed and I shed tears.
That's how real they felt to me. What their journeys meant to me.
For a finale, I felt some plot threads were left vague or semi-resolved and that's why I deducted a star.
But my experience with the series overall? 10/10!
The journey is not over yet as I still have Believe Me novella to read and the new spin-off series that takes place a few years after the ending of this series.
I'm glad because I'll have a hard time moving on from these characters, especially Juliette! ...more

Tahereh really was like "you think I hurt you in the last three books? Baby you haven't seen anything yet."
There's nothing else I could add to this review.
Wait actually I do.
The first three books were just the tip of the iceberg. There were reveals after reveals after reveals. This is taking a very dark turn and I'm here for the ride even if I'll continue to be hurt.
Let's quickly get to Shadow Me (novella) and then jump into Restore Me. I am so anxious to get to it!!...more

“Ignite, my love. Ignite.”
Ignite Me is the explosive climax to everything the story has been building up. This series so far has been pure adrenaline.
Vengeance is served but not without sacrifice, devastation, and grief.
This book was brutal. Darker.
It shattered the characters. It stripped away all the masks they had on. It tested their limits and broke it. It drew blood.
Juliette is not the same melancholic 17-year-old girl you meet in book 1. She is fueled by the desire for revenge. She becomes the very same destructive weapon her enemies tried to forge her into.
For others she becomes a beacon of hope, but for her enemies? She is their reckoning.
While the book indeed is tinged with a darker tone, but the heart-melting tenderness and pure love between Juliette and Warner was exquisite.
And I haven't had enough of them.
While this book was supposed to be the conclusion of the trilogy, I'm delighted it's not. There is much more to their journey and the other characters' journey I'm eager to explore!

What an electrifying installment! Unravel Me had my adrenaline pumping from page ONE and what I got was a non-stop thrilling and nerve-wracking ride!
The angst was deliciously excruciating.
The action sequences had me on edge.
I am savoring every page in this series so far.
Something about it is just so addictive, I now understand the hype around it. I am very honored to finally be part of that crowd.
Juliette is my baby and I'll fight any hater over her.
Although, I have to say that star of this book is Kenji. What a character. What a presence. Such charisma. He could be talking to an inanimate object and the chemistry would be immediate.
Adam is a tortured soul who needs a hug. And therapy (actually they all do).
Warner on the other hand is the object of my intrigue. I wish we got chapters of his POV because I need to be in his head. I did so briefly with the novella (Destroy Me), I need more. I wonder if the next novella (Fracture Me) is also from his POV? I'll know soon enough since that's my next read!
I'm so excited to continue and I think I'll devour the entire series in the next two weeks. ...more

How could she expect Titus to treat her as anything but a delicate, breakable butterfly when that was all she’d ever shown the world?
Okay I thought I picked this book up while I wasn't in my best mood, but it took me 10 days to finish it and I guess it had nothing to do with my mood... I sadly just wasn't that invested.
I liked Sharine and Titus's banter and chemistry but my excitement quickly dampensd when we're back to the plot and it's... it's okay but it did not make me thrilled as I usually am with the past installments.
1. I think there are inconsistencies with Sharine's character form what we have already known about the Hummingbird. It's expected for a character to change as we live through their POV but something felt like it was a rushed 180 shift in her personality.
2. While they are dealing with the Reborn but why did it lack action scenes? Something that put me on the edge of my seat?
Now it's not a bad book but it's probably my least favorite installment in the series so far....more
