I'm a huge fan of Kristen Callihan's Game On series. Rock stars aren't typically a genre that I go crazy to read because there isn't much I can relate to. But Kristen's writing sucked me in to the story.
Killian is a rock star extraordinaire. The fan's love him, the women all want a piece of him and the the music industry wants to keep him on the stage. He is living the life. But when his band mate tries to kill himself, the real world smacks him in the face and he is in too much pain to face his music.
Liberty lives in a small town on a farm. Her parents passed away and she, also has been in too much pain to deal with real life. Music has always been a part of her life, but it reminds her too much of her parents and the memories are just too painful. So she tends to her house, works from home and has no problems with her quiet life.
Until Killian crashes into her yard.
These two are an unlikely match. But Libby is just what Killian needs.
What I loved about this book: ~ The writing. I usually enjoy books with characters I can relate to. But a truly talented author can make any character appealing. Both Libby and Killian are flawed. They are in pain. But together, they help each other heal and make each other stronger. ~ Alternating POV - LOVE this - my favorite way to read. ~ Killian. OMG. He is such an amazing hero. He's gorgeous, confident, charismatic, talented. He's a famous, wealthy musician. But he's also real. He's human, he's kind and he worries about his band-mates. Gah. I could not get enough of Killian. ~ Libby. A small town, "plain Jane" kind of girl. She doesn't recognize Killian and doesn't hold back. She puts him in his place. And Killian...he wakes Libby up. He makes her feel alive again. I LOVE Libby's personality. ~ Chemistry. Man oh man. The pull these two have is amazing. ~ Growth. These two characters learn so much about themselves in the course of the book. I loved watching them become better people.
Bottom line: read it!!! Even if you don't like the "rock star" genre. Kristen Callihan is such a talented author, the genre/subject doesn't even matter. She pulled me in and I loved every minute of it.
HIGHLY recommend!!
Highlights: "You need hard labor to forge you into a better person?" "Yeah." He smiles. "Yeah, I think I do." "And you want me to...what? Mr. Miyagi you?"
"And I know without a doubt that Killian James isn't just an addiction, or a summer fling. He's becoming my everything. And that is both exhilarating and terrifying."
"You and me, Libby. We stick together, and everything will be okay."...more

Dirty is the first book of the Dive Bar Series, starring Lydia and Vaughan. I LOVED their story!! Dirty was the best combination of funny, sexy, light and addictive.
Lydia learns, on her wedding day, that her fiance is gay and sleeping with his best man. This leads her to flee the scene, quite literally, right into Vaughan's bathtub. From there, these to have a connection. A CRAZY connection.
What I loved about this book: ~The writing. Kylie Scott is so easy for me to read. I quickly get sucked in and can't stop turning the pages. ~Lydia. Dirty is told 100% from Lydia's POV and she is HILARIOUS. She has been jilted, but she does a good job of picking up the pieces of her life. She is not perfect, she is not stick thin either, and I LOVED that about her. ~ Vaughan. A musician that didn't get quite the break he was looking for in the music world. He is back in his home town to sell his childhood home and look for his next move to follow his dream. He did not plan on meeting a woman and falling in love. He planned on selling the house, then traveling back to the west coast. But dreams change. I love how in tune he is with Lydia. I love how he makes her feel safe. He makes her feel desired. He makes her feel less self conscious of her body. He makes her feel wanted. Aaaaand he has tattoos. Vaughan is so appealing. ~ The chemistry. The love how neither Vaughan or Lydia wanted a relationship, but they couldn't stop the pull. ~ Side characters. I LOVE the group of people introduced in this story. I want to jump into the book and become friends with everyone. I can't wait to read the next story!!! ~ Narration. If you get the chance, listen to this one on audio. Andi Arndt is an AMAZING narrator. I love how she brings the characters to life.
What I didn't like: ~ A bit predictable. I totally knew these two would fall for each other. I loved reading about how they got to their HEA. No huge twists or turns in the plot. ~ So fast. The entire story takes place over 1-2 weeks. Ummmm. That's kinda fast. I would have loved to see this story cover more ground.
This was an awesome read and I can't wait to read more by this author.
Bottom line: READ IT!!!!

Being Sawyer Knight is about Sawyer (mega rock star) and his childhood best friend Jake.
The only history we get about Jake and Sawyer's childhood friendship is the kiss they shared when Jake was leaving to go live in the United States. Sawyer is straight and thought Jake was too, up until he kissed him. Sawyer is so confused by his reaction to the kiss he pushes Jake away.
Then they meet again when Jake becomes the head of Sawyer's security team.
I loved reading about Sawyer wanting to explore this new side of himself. But he is so afraid to be himself - he feels like he needs to put on a show for everyone and be who he thinks people want him to be. Very frustrating.
I loved the chemistry between these two characters. I wish we would have had some more depth to their friendship before the kiss though. As it was, it seemed like Jake was SO aggressive with Sawyer right off the bat when they had been separated for 10 years.
Bottom line: loved watching these two find their HEA. Great ending. ...more

The first book in a new series is always exciting for me to dive into.
Unfortunately, this book fell short for me.
Toni is our heroine - she has lived a sheltered life and taken care of her special needs sister since she was 15. So she is not experienced with guys. At all. She gets the opportunity to go on tour with Exodus End to write an interactive bibliography about the band.
And literally 1 hour after meeting the band, she sleeps with one of the members.
Um. What?
Seriously?
I just couldn't relate to Toni at all. She drove me a bit batty.
Logan was pretty fabulous. He is a base player, an adrenaline junky, and he really fell for Toni.
I loved Logan but Toni just didn't do it for me.
I will definitely read the rest of the series. ...more
Josh is in a wheelchair after an accident left him without the use of his legs. Tammy Falkner brings4.5 Stars
Josh and Star. Sigh. I LOVE their story.
Josh is in a wheelchair after an accident left him without the use of his legs. Tammy Falkner brings to light so many things that people with disabilities deal with every day. People see the disability. In this book, you learn to see the person, not the disability.
The Reeds take Josh in and make him one of their own. The Reeds are now connected to the members of Fallen from Zero via Sam and Peck's marriage, so even though the main characters of this book are not "Reeds", they really are.
Star is polished and perfect on the outside, but she has had a tragic past that makes it difficult to trust others, especially men.
Love the writing.
Love the chemistry.
It's heart felt and had me in tears.
I love that we get updates on everyone else that I've fallen in love with along the way.
Highly recommend this series. Start at the beginning!!!!! ...more

Deep gives us the story of Ben and Lizzy.
Lizzy is Anne's sister - and thus she is off limits, as far as Mal and Anne are concerned.
Lizzy and Ben are instantly drawn to each other, but Ben backs off pretty quickly once Mal makes him promise not to go there.
Buuuuutttt, they do. Go there. And boy, they have a hard time keeping it a secret.
I love this story. I love Lizzy - her humor, her strength. Love her.
Ben - I could have smacked him upside the head a few times, but he came around.
Martha - the girl you love to hate. Sheesh. Ben's sister is a total b.i.t.c.h!!! They were hinting that Sam (the bodyguard/right hand man) has a thing for Martha - I don't know if this is the next book in the making, but I'm not sure Kylie Scott could turn around my hate for Martha.
I highly recommend Deep - but please start with LICK!!! Such a fantastic series. ...more

The writing in Play sucked me right in to the story.
I loved Anne. And Mal.
Loved they way they made sense together, even though they shouldn't.
Love the way those feelings snuck in there, even though they didn't plan on it.
