While reading the latest addition to the Lost Kings series, I was smirking, gasping, and fanning myself through some highly erotic sensual scenes and enjoying the irreverent humor, salacious banter, family drama, and a ton of naughty fun - all sandwiched into an engaging storyline. The Lost Kings are an unusual MC in how they treat each other and their women, although they are still proud alphas, loud, boisterous, and able to handle their business. I was rolling right along and enjoying this smokin’ hawt and lascivious MC romance packed with lewd and dirty talking yet sweet and quirky alpha men and their feisty women, when it came to a tense spot and then, just stopped. NO!
I am stamping my little foot, foaming at the mouth, spewing invectives and turning the air around me blue – grrr! I was totally unprepared for an incomplete story… I must have closure! A pox on you Autumn Jones Lake for so thoroughly hooking me like a big mouth bass and reeling me in, only to hold me dangling over a cliff for another month for part two as I must know how it resolves. But, no question about it, I will be eagerly awaiting the next installment to hit my kindle. I have never worn a cut and would give anyone a crack to the head if they called me a muffler bunny, but I am most certainly a LOKI wannabe and Autumn Jones Lake fangirl. But for now, I am off to purchase voodoo doll supplies that resemble a certain author, as well as some extra sharp pins!

Revenge, guilt, corruption, murder, undercover operatives, and a hot sexy biker babe who happens to be the President of the MC – which was definitely a new wrinkle for me. Rebel Love had an interesting premise, an active story line, sexy characters with combustible chemistry, lots of intrigue, and angst dripping off every page. Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of angst, so I found it a bit slow going, but I do love kick-ass chicks, steamy love scenes, and a feisty heroine, and those were delivered in spades.

Sizzle and snap! I fell right into this sexy and provocative Chelle Bliss vortex. My brain and sense of self were completely hijacked and I was transported into the loud and crass circle of the ever-alluring and profane Gallos as well as a mix of daunting and smexy bikers. My Review:
I have quickly forgiven Ms. Jones Lake for her abandonment and heinous cliffhanger at the end of Beyond Reckless, as she has more than redeemed herself with this deliciously written, deviously plotted, and well-crafted conclusion to Teller’s duet with Beyond Reason. While I was gleefully entertained by both books, I adored Beyond Reason and the engaging storylines of this complicated couple. I was staggered by Teller’s sweetness and gentle and thoughtful nature. Ms. Jones Lake packed her cleverly constructed tale with entertaining banter, clever observational humor, amusing exchanges, cringing-worthy violence, twisted backstories, intriguing and suspenseful story threads, heart-breaking disappointments, and volcanically hot and erotic sensuality. I particularly enjoyed the visual of the large, foul-mouthed, heavily tatted bikers attending a glitter-filled unicorn-themed birthday party, as well as their willingness to create a fairy wonderland in the woods to set a romantic scene. I was quite taken with how affectionate and respectful they were of their life partners. Sigh. But of course, it was fiction after all ;)...more

These lewd and crude chest thumping, knuckle dragging, alpha men of the Retribution MC are really just a bunch of old softies that are easily brought to their knees by their feisty women and sassy children. This installment provided a wrap-up and years later epilogue chapter for each couple featured in the series and was the perfect way to say farewell. I enjoyed spending time with this crass and sweet group of sex gods and feel a bit rueful that the series has concluded. Rie Warren pays stellar tribute to each and sends them on their way with amusing humor and HEAs, as well as life-altering, sheet-scorching, eye-crossing, toe-curling, earth-moving, mind-shattering, porn-star sex. Whoa, Nelly! Tail was a cross-genre, sheet-scorching, combustible, and salacious MC/erotic romance with strong elements of suspense and humor. This couple had superhuman endurance, even a horny teenager would need to ingest Viagra by the handfuls and drink water by the gallon to keep up with these two. Between the sexual Olympics was an intriguing and entertaining storyline packed with amusing humor, foul-mouthed yet soft-hearted family men bikers, clever and titillating banter, and heart-squeezing sweet moments. My favorite scenes involved a biker doing a bit of striptease during rather the bachelor auction of an otherwise high-class fund-raising event, meeting the wealthy parentals, and a heavily tatted biker wielding a curling iron while helping his elderly mother with her hair. This MC has an admittedly soap opera dynamic, so much so that they installed a popcorn machine for their snacking pleasure during the personal dramas and antics. I relished the humor, tenderness, and supportiveness of their tribe. ...more

Spark In The Ashes was a tense read full of conflict, irritating and uncouth characters, violence, and carnage. This was not a sweet alpha teddy bear MC, no, no, no! This group of misfits consisted of dangerous outlaws who like to toy and torture their victims before they finally kill. So I found it to be extremely moronic of the feisty bratty female character to continuously push their limits, pick fights, stamp her little foot, toss insults and demands as freely as her luscious head of hair, and generally kept up an extremely dangerous game of mean girl for no particular reason. Yet I remained intrigued and despite frequently cringing at the brutality, I could not seem to put my kindle down until the worst thing of all happened. After a shattering revelation, the book ended in a vile cliffhanger, GRRR! Those demonic contrivances should be illegal. ...more

My Review:
Autumn Jones Lake has made my week as she pens my favorite MC series - not that I’m a muffler bunny, but I do enjoy varying my reading genres. Shortly after picking up the first book, Slow Burn, the Lost Kings quickly became my favorite group of handsome, nasty talking, witty, sexy, and smart-mouthed alpha bad boys - hands down. They cannot seem to speak without swearing (even when they try) and tease, bicker, prank, and banter 90% of the time. They may be tatted, tough, and rough around the edges; but they are total marshmallows and teddy bears when it comes to their women, and they also provide after-school programs and quietly aid in protecting their community. Of the books in the series that I have had the pleasure of reading, White Knuckles was the steamiest and sweetest love story of the bunch. I adored seeing the moody and perpetually cranky Wrath evolving into a sweet and considerate other half with Trinity, which hasn’t always been the case with this couple as he had been such a bitter and nasty buggah to her in previous installments. Little Trinity has brought the big man to his knees, as she is the only one who ever could have, and despite how vulnerable that makes him, Wrath wouldn’t have it any other way. Despite a few nail-biting scenes due to a bit of bad business the club needed to sort and handle, the storyline was focused on the love story, wedding prep, and relationship issues of the club. The writing was engaging, amusing, easy to follow, and packed with creative and highly sensual sexcapades, amusing banter, and snarky wit. White Knuckles resides at the top of my list as my all-time favorite MC book. All hail the Lost Kings!...more

I have read and enjoyed several of Rie Warren's Carolina Bad Boys. This is a quirky bunch of sexy alpha MC characters that are secretly big teddy bears that go all sweet and tender for their sassy women - women who seem to be a magnet for trouble. Rush was action packed and full of humor, lascivious observations, and highly erotic sensual scenes. Written from the point of view of Max/Handsome, his inner musings frequently focused on the love of his life Shiloh, who kept his libido on high alert and a circus tent in his pants. Max was so sweet and sexy, and now my new BBF. The writing was highly amusing, salacious, scorching hot, and full of fun and invectives. Chaos Bound was an intense read. The characters, histories, violence, and sensual scenes were of high concentration and measurably powerful. The characters met when thrown together in a dungeon. One had survived gruesome and brutal torture, and the other was to be next in line for much of the same. The storyline while frequently violent was mesmerizing and unpredictable. I was intrigued, engaged, and engrossed by Ms. Castille's dynamic and magnetic characters and writing. The sensual scenes were incendiary, the characters were enigmatic yet likable, and the banter and observations were often surprisingly humorous and clever despite the heavy plot and underlying tension throughout the story. In Filthy Bastard, some of the characters in the story are filthy rich, other characters are rat bastards, other characters are MC members of a group known as Grim Bastards, and some characters are both filthy rich bastards. Filthy Bastard is a hybrid genre of an intense and gritty MC and an erotic romance with elements of suspense. It was cringe-worthy, angsty, heartbreaking, and highly sensual. The first third of the book followed the same timeline and storyline as the first book of the series, Dirty Bastard, while being even more gruesome and disquieting. The back-stories were intriguing and the story was well paced, although unsettling and disconcerting. He was her preadolescent crush and teenaged infatuation. But these biker clubs are not the warm and fuzzy alpha MC men trope that I am used to reading. They are not the lovable and misunderstood bad boys that are loyal and tender to their women... nope... these guys are the real thing, the antisocial 1% outlaw criminal element; these are the rough, grizzled, and scary men that kidnap, murder, run drugs and women, and sell guns. Some aren't even loyal to each other much less their women. The name of their club is the Grim Bastards, and the moniker fits like a glove for the most part. The story of Dirty Bastard spans over a decade and was written from a dual POV - which I enjoy. I like being in both main characters' headspace, even if some of the story and visuals had me cringing and flinching. The writing is often erotically sensual and accompanied by a long-simmering love story. This was my first experience with either author and as I am still reeling and vacillating in my opinion - it is onward to book two.

I Googled him and have since decided I need to crawl out from under my rock a bit more often as holy hell - he is a fine and tasty looking full course meal, and the perfect muse for this high action and steamy story. I had previously read and adored Ms. James' entire Hale series as well as Kincaid, so I reveled in the involvement of the Cerberus MC heroes aiding in the rescue, I wasn't expecting that and it was a welcome treat. The story was taut with tension due to the conditions the characters were living in, yet the writing contained enough of Ms. James' own brand of snarky humor and steamy goodness to provide occasional respite from the angst. These characters are a smokin’ hawt combo and cannot speak without using expletives.
