Snow lands on top.
so turns out when you all read this three years ago and collectively agreed that it was bad, you were just flat-out lying.
not to exaggerate but not only is this the best prequel i have ever read to any series ever - it is probably also the best book i have read this year, period.
prequels to me are good when you sit there KNOWING which decisions a character will make but still shaking and praying that they might ignore canon and not chose their entire downfall. what if things don't turn out the way they turn out.... me when i'm delusional.
snow is such a good and compelling character and he shouldn't be because all i remember from the actual series is him being the most evil dick (still serving cunt with his grey daddy look but i digress) and how on earth could he be human?? and yet, until the very end i was bewildered by how human he actually is. a villain having a heart and empathy while also being damned enough by circumstance (and let's be real here, also personality) to happily succumb to what i can only call his demise.
there was never any hope for him and yet. and YET. for two thirds of the book i was in misery trying to figure out what will happen to him, how did we get there, this doesn't make sense, this isn't him...
reading this was like being a kid again. i couldn't put it down, i stayed up late, i was gasping, screaming, crying, staring at the wall feeling empty inside. after finishing it i just sat there clutching the copy between my hands while staring into space for ten minutes.
- so basically the way a reading experience should be. 10/10...more
i did very much enjoy the amnesia plotline but this series should have been over three books ago, who the fuck cares about all of this.
at least they i did very much enjoy the amnesia plotline but this series should have been over three books ago, who the fuck cares about all of this.
at least they did finally have sex cause that joke has been getting pretty old but nevermind as it was the most awful thing i’ve ever read, should have stayed celibate ...more

i mean. at its core. piranesi is basically a thriller.
it’s just better written and more unique and, you know, actually good but like… it is… a thriller. (i had this revelation a few days after finishing it for the second time and it upsets me, can you tell)
it’s really hard to talk about piranesi because a. you shouldn’t know anything about it going in and b. piranesi is not to be explained, it is to be experienced.
actually, i take my thriller comment back. piranesi is genre defying. just like the house, the novel’s beauty is immeasurably; its kindness infinite.
- - - 1st time reading:
Piranesi is definitely a novel you have to give a chance to find its way into the story. It really comes together in part 3 - but if you don't like it by then, you probably never will. It's also a novel you have to sit with and just blankly stare into space after finishing.
that being said, this is my actual review: i have to give it 4.5 stars, i can't explain
let's wait and see whether it will give me brainrot in the weeks to come, i am very much looking forward to that
i don't throw the words worst reading experience around lightly but

probably the worst book i could have picked today. it wasn't happy enough to cure my depression nor was it more sad than i already was so it just left me annoyed.
i also think that every plotline in this was bullshit and blown way out of proportion. also while i cared about no-one in that love triangle the double standards of treatment when both men did the EXACT SAME THING just irked me.
honestly, it’s getting ridiculous at this point. and that’s coming from me. ME. i HATE sex scenes in books but dea*eye twitching* will they ever fuck

also i dont care for the plot, it’s been a while since it made me laugh out loud, and quite frankly i’m only here for March and his chest hair and the biscuit pet name....more
