Since I seriously doubt that you'll make to the end of my ramblings - do your self a favor - when you finish this book don't stop at The End. Keep scrolling! At the very end you'll find a link to one of the most satisfying, funny, warm all ecompsaing bonus epilogues I've ever read. It's free! A kind hearted reigning prince with enormous burden of responsibility on his shoulders and a jaded mercenary with PTSD - how could they possibly meet or connect on any level? Well they do. The attraction is instant and scorching, but what's really important in their budding relationship (which is moved on the fast track by events beyond their control) is mutual respect, admiration and trust. The mercenary gets more what he's ever expected, hoped for or thougt of himself as deserving. He finds unexpected internal peace in this little country that most of the world population couldn't even find on a map. The prince who's surrounded by loyal people (well mostly) but none of them could really be called a friend gets his soulmate, the rock he can lean to and a lover he could only dream of. As usual we get a rollercoaster of heat, action, mystery, emotions and humor, as well as strong family found trope. All of the 'family members ' appear in this final book of the series and play significant roles so I strongly suggest that you start at the very beginning and that is Exit strategy series when we get to meet and love Justin and Gabriel. I was hooked since I've read the first book and I was more than happy to follow the characters to this spin off series. All of them more than deserved their own stories and I'm happy to hear that it's probably not over yet. Maybe we'll get another spin off. I'm keeping my eyes peeled and my fingers crossed ....more

Their push and pull and interactions based on grievances stemmed in highschool are tense at best and in their internal musings hilarious, considering that both of them are trying so hard to deny their attraction. Thankfully there's a smart, very outspoken and observant teenager to push (well at least one of them) in right direction. Slowly they get to know each other and realize that that despite their different personalities have a lot in common. An added bonus is a murder mystery which doesn't get resolved in this book but that's a plus actually, because there's a wast array of intriguing characters in this book that demand the stories of their own and I can't wait to read them....more

Very well researched - you get transported to Victorian era and the mindset of the times effortlessly. The pacing of the story is perfect and so is the balance between mystery/thriller and slow burn build up between the MCs. It's written in multiple POWs including the victims which is an added bonus because the character development is amazing no matter how short lived are some of them. I'll be waiting (very impatiently) for the next book....more

There's a rare depth in every character she writes and even supporting characters take a life of their own and make you crave to read more about them. The realism of ones feelings and life situations with all ups and downs is incomparable to almost any author I've read so far and I've read many. So is the angst that goes with it. Her characters are complex, flawed and their life choices often questionable, but so real. Put it in the world of MC club and do the math. But what's undeniable is loyalty, family found, strong bonds and love. The interactions between all the characters are complicated so I strongly suggest that you read the series from the beginning and you'll hopefully enjoy the emotional and action rollercoaster as much as I did. Every single book in this series is memorable and on my reread list. This one is no exception. I won't repeat the blurb, I rarely do . I'll just say that this is the addition that's more than worthy of the series. Riv and Ruby were breaking my heart over and over again, not to mention their interactions with friends and family. But they put it together in a most realistic and heartwarming way. If you are new to this series - take the trigger warnings seriously and if you're not British you'll probably need to Google some terms or slang words - I actually had a lot fun with it and I've learned something new to me. I can't wait for the next book in this series....more

Rio Fire finally makes him feel like a person he never knew existed within flashy, demanding and narcissistic public persona which was somewhat forced and ingrained in him by his upbringing, but some parts are just him and that makes him even more entertaining - to the reader and definitely to Fire who can't get enough of him, accepts him for who he is, grounds him and sees beyond the facade like no one has before.
Fire Top champion athlete adored by his fans and well loved by his family didn't really think something was missing in his life until he met his fated mate. But can two men that couldn't be more different make the relationship work? Is Rio willing to sacrifice the only life he knows as an adult and make a huge step into different direction?
The realism of feelings and personal insecurities, the little details of their interaction is making this book not just good but worth rereading....more

EvI've been a fan of both authors for a long time and they never disappoint. Although this book is part of the series it can be read as a standalone. Even if you are not so much into hockey you'll probably be after reading their books or at least want to learn more about it - I know that happened to me years ago when I read my first hockey MM romance (by another author) but since then I'm searching for hockey themed books and that I've read every single book written by RJ Scott and VL Locey says a lot. This is probably the best book in this series besides Snowed, which can be read as a standalone too although Rental features many characters from their other hockey books and series that I'm fairly certain you'll want to read more about. If you aren't sure where to start I'd suggest that you start with Harrisburg Railers series - that's where I got hooked and never looked back. There's a lot of things I loved about Rental. The conflict between demands of MC's jobs and their sizzling attraction and growing feelings is portrayed very well, I loved the humor. What I missed was more on page conversation between the two. Nevertheless it was a page turner and kept my attention all the way....more

As most of you probably knoThis is the book I was waiting for and hoping for. Actually I didn't think it will happen, so I feel like I won a lottery. As most of you probably know there's been years since the conclusion of one of my favorite series of all times - Guns and Boys , but Nero and Miguel kept popping in my mind at most random moments. They were side characters that left impression that couldn't be ignored - they practically demanded a story of their own - and it was delivered in the way that exceeded my hopes and imagination. You can find the basics, including trigger warnings in the blurb so I won't repeat them. If you are new to these authors writing take the trigger warnings seriously - personally I don't have many, at least when fiction is considered. This story is gritty, violent, unapologetic and yet so moving in relationship development, set in a world that we don't want to live in but we want to read about it, admitting it or not. One of the hottest relatively slow-burns I've ever read. It's about the struggle of coming out - not just in sexual way - recognizing the feelings and needs buried deep inside of someone's who's not supposed to have any souls left. This is an an opposites attract/enemies to lovers story that I'll probably never forget. For the time frame - according to some reviews I've read people are confused - it's happening approximately 3 years after Guns and Boys, so it definitely can be read as a standalone....more

Imaginative world, great character and plot building, with a side of humor, but it should not be read as a standalone, because the plot from the book one continues and thickens. Actually the general idea of the world building is very similar to Charlie Cochet's Soldati Hearts series, so if you've enjoyed that one (I know I did) you're in for a treat. I'm looking forward to the next book, because the mystery remains unresolved and there are many characters that deserve a story of their own....more

A fewDown in Flames starts with a jaw dropping revelation about West. I needed a few minutes to close my mouth and after that I couldn't put it down. A few years ago after I wasn't even halfway into the first chapter of book one in Down Low series I've decided that I found one of my favourite authors of all times and I wasn't wrong. To really comprehend my feelings about these books you definitely need to read this whole series, because once again I'm lost for words. "Books" is not a mistake because I can hardly rate this book on it's own without mentioning the other amazing reads in this series. In theory each could be read as a standalone, but do yourself a favour and read them in order. I hope you'll enjoy the ride as much as I did, because every single one in this series has thorn my heart to pieces and put it back together in realistic deeply felt way. The depth of understanding one's feelings and emotions, the place they stem from, no matter man or animal is out of the charts. It's the kind of empathy that I'm sure many authors are trying to put into words but rarely succeed on such a deep level that Parker St John does. Frankly I was afraid that this will be the last book in this series but I couldn't be happier that I was wrong. I'll be waiting (very impatiently) for Derek's story. Scratch impatiently - I'll wait as long as it takes because It'll be worth it. In the meantime I'll just reread the whole series (again) despite the fact that my TBR list is unmanageable....more

I just feel that no words can be enough for this brilliantly written very angsty rollercoaster of emotions. The complexity of characters and the story which is dealing with some difficult issues and some general prejudices and misconceptions is amazing. This book broke my heart over and over again and put it back together in most wonderful ways. I loved the first book in this series Rookie Mistake and after reading it I felt that the authors set the bar pretty high, not just for others but for themselves, that it would be very difficult to match. Well they did it. This is hands down one of the most beautiful love stories I've read in years, although this is not just a love story. It's a story of a beautiful friendships, loyalty, family found/chosen, laced with humor and banter that made me laugh out loud more than once. It's a very slow burn, but the heat and attraction between Elias and Nisha could keep a mansion very warm. I'm very much looking forward to the next book in this series, no matter how long it takes, because I'm sure it will be worth the wait....more

I can't give up much without major spoilers but I'll say that there were problems with continuity, some time frames and definitely with police procedure. Let me give you just a few examples. The police is not obligated to wait 24 hours to start an investigation on a missing person report - it's an urban myth which many authors are parroting without doing some research. Miguel arrives on a date on Harley and the next minute Sam sits in his police cruiser. By the way - since when are patrol cops in Nashville allowed to use the police cruisers in their free time to take their dates to a ball game? And my pet peeve - we never get to know what Sam looks like. There's much more, but I'll stop here. This could easily be a 5 star read with some more research and maybe if some more eyes were put on it prior publishing. Despite the really good writing I doubt I'll be coming back....more
