The best parts of the book were the Whisper and Julien's cameos....more

From the little I was able to get before, he seemed like a sort of decent guy, but this book really confirmed it.
Practically kidnapped from his own country, Vana is adopted into the royal family and has with him his blood guard, Daromir. These guys have been besties for 14 years and have the most codependent relationship, and yet they think they are just friends.
Having them get together was well done; you can feel the yearning and pining from both sides until they finally give in to their feelings.
The plot was nicely set to expand Vana’s brother., I just hope we get to see more of the original characters, too....more

I understand that Charlie was afraid of Tanner’s connection to his fraternity and all, but having him be a secret just felt wrong. In addition to that, it felt like Tanner was the one who was always pursuing him and doing his best to accommodate him; it didn’t feel very reciprocated....more

This book starts with a devastating prologue. Max wakes up at the hospital just to learn his life has been irrevocably changed. Fast forward a year later, and he is still barely surviving. Then he meets sunny and flirtatious Luke, and everything changes for the better.
This is one of those stories that emphasizes that yes, meeting your person is amazing, but also getting professional help and a support network can do wonders for you.
The plot is sad because Max struggles through the whole book with the repercussions of what happened to him, but Luke provides all the support and Love he needs. Their relationship was so lovely to read, I just wished it had an epilogue!...more

The book starts literally with that scenario, and then it just goes downhill; the chemistry is nonexistent, the dialogues are weird, and the inner monologues are absolute cringe. ...more

The story is very well written, and even though I think it could have been easily one book, I was never bored.
I’m probably at least 85% influenced by the amazing narration from all the cast, but especially TJ and Jude, seriously, 10/10, it’s one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to.
The story in itself it’s a 3rd chance romance, where it feels like everything that could happen happens to keep them apart, and once they are finally in the same postal code, we’ll the miscommunication becomes central to their relationship, the angst is angsty, and the inevitable happens.
After all it’s said and done, Jude and TJ have to play a fake relationship that feels straight out of a TJ book, they have to handle their rekindling romance and learn to trust once again in their feelings.
The romance was super swoony, and that epilogue! ...more

I didn’t really remember Jesse from the Stick Side series, but I sort of can remember that Emery had a teammate who was a bully, so it sort of made sense.
Jesse has been suffering for 15 years after the death of his brother. He lashed out and acted pretty much like a dick for a while until he reformed himself, his done work, and he is actively trying to be a better person. The book starts with him coming back home to PEI to attend his brother’s memorial and to make peace with himself.
Parker is struggling; he lost his dad and had to change his career to take over the family business. He is basically miserable and drowning in sorrow. All until he reconnects with Jesse, his best friend and possibly more.
Their love felt like a very real and mature love; it was sad and hopeful at the same time.
Loved the setting, and now I am adding PEI to my list of places I still want to visit in Canada....more
