In fact, I really didn’t like this story. It had nothing to do with the writing. I just didn’t like either Jeremy or Stuart. They were both jerks that I wouldn’t give the time of day. Jeremy was a lier, and Stuart had a chip on his shoulder the size of Texas.
I loved most of the side characters. Cassie was great. She even won over Jeremy. I also loved Mrs. Wimpole. She was an absolute hoot. I’m not going to give up on the series as I have high hopes for the next book. ...more

I want to give this book 10 stars that’s how much I loved it. I’m a huge fan of E. M. Lindsey. I love a lot of authors, but E. M. Is right up close to the top of my list. It’s funny that I love her stories so much because I usually try to avoid too much angst. I know her books have a lot of angst, and this one is right up there. After I quit crying happy tears in the end I had to sit and think about it before writing a review.
As far as I know all of E. M.’s novels deal with people with disabilities. This book is no exception. Kane was abused by his ex lover who was hit by a truck after raping him. Soren had an abusive childhood followed by breaking his back so badly that he was left permanently damaged. In addition he has to deal with an ex husband who uses their son to punish him. It sounds daunting, but it was beautifully written. ...more

I liked the story, but I had one big problem with the book. There is way too much inner monologue. Nothing is more boring than reading page after page of someone arguing with themself.
If that doesn’t bother you then I recommend the story. This is a great grumpy/ sunshine romance. Ivy is sweet and open and Harrison is closed off and hurting. ...more

However, I wasn’t a big fan of this book. There were just too many things that bothered me. First of all was the drama. Both Rafe and Theo were broken and sad when they met. Although they found happiness in each other the sadness kept creeping into their relationship. If you add in hateful mothers and mean dangerous ex boyfriends it just got to be a bit much for me. I’ll certainly read the rest of the books in this series. After all , I was looking for a light rom com romance so it’s probably me and not the book....more

I went from smiling and laughing at Brody with the two girls to frustration and sadness at Kacie’s actions. I loved Brody. He was just the perfect boyfriend. Kacie has so much baggage that she can’t handle any commitment. I know the story continues in the next book and this one just sort of ends in a cliffhanger, but I don’t care. This ends for me here. I don’t want to say anything else because I don’t want to give away anything. By the way, the two little girls are adorable. ...more

I have very little patience with main characters who constantly question their partner’s intentions. Robin was like a broken record saying the same things over and over. I hate breakup scenes at 75% into the story. This is such as tired plot line that it really hurts the story for me. The biggest problem for me is the dreaded inner monologue.
