I'm honestly not sure where I first heard about or saw this book, but I'm glad I did. I'm always on the lookout for the oddball shifter books. I'm a huge fan of sci-fi romance, and I'm a huge fan of the weird. This book ticked all the boxes. It was fantastic. I enjoyed it immensely and you should read it ASAP....more

Sal's attitude is just perfection, and Max is just complete unprepared for the force of nature that is about to hit him. The only thing that bothered me was that I was hoping that it would tie in more with the Minotaur book. It's obvious that they are in the same universe, but....oh well. LOL. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review....more
I really liked this one. I'm becoming a bit of a broken record, but if you follow my reviews, you know I like MM and I like my unusual shifters. This I really liked this one. I'm becoming a bit of a broken record, but if you follow my reviews, you know I like MM and I like my unusual shifters. This one is a bunny (and there's an otter thrown in on the sidelines!). I love a good pun in a title and I just can't resist it. This book actually has a story, and I enjoyed it.
I would like a bit more on the back story to the Sheriff, but I suspect as the series moves along, we'll figure out what the burr is up his butt....more
WAY back when, I started the F.U.C. series because of the acronym. It gave me a giggle and I'm just stupid for silly puns. I love how all the authors WAY back when, I started the F.U.C. series because of the acronym. It gave me a giggle and I'm just stupid for silly puns. I love how all the authors that participate in the series absolutely EMBRACE the F.U.C. culture. Every single new acronym had me giggling. I love how the bad guy ones were all gross. LOL.
This story had me beyond frustrated. I wanted Tony to just absolutely sucker punch this snake (literally, he's a ball python shifter) in the nose. MEGA BOOP. Damon is just...so aggravating. There's a reason for it, but man, listening to this man be a complete raging misogynist for most of the book was painful. Julietta was having none of it, though! She let him have it with a double load of Jersey attitude and I loved it. I did wish we had a bit more of "slice of life" with the two of them to resolve the "oh hey sorry I was a double-dick to you for literal months". (HA....the only double dick in the book, sadly) Also! That nurse! WTF!
We do get a nice wrap-up to the trilogy story in this book and then get a lead-off into a new story at the end.

I can't wait to read about Rig...but I have to read WYN first...which I am unbearably excited for!!! Seriously, read the books already. You don't need me to convince you....more

I was a bit put off that there wasn't any resolution to the side character issue, but I'm guessing that will come along with book 2 and the issues there.
I liked how this book took a bit more of a realistic approach to a human suddenly having another being saying "Yo! You're my forever! Let's boink like rabbits now. Also, I have a fur rug I wear like a cape and turn into a seal. Cool? Cool." Sometimes it's nice when the human reacts in the way that we would actually react. :)
I also really liked how the book explored all of the Selkie lore and talked about the probable origins, etc. I thought that was very interesting, and neat how the author worked it into the plot. (That character arc will be interesting, for sure!)
I didn't check on my kindle for a glossary, but I was glad that I read this on kindle, because then I could highlight the French swearing and get translations. LOL Henri is definitely a colorful linguist.
EDIT: It drove me NUTS that the H kept correcting the h for calling the selkie pelt his coat, and then would turn around the NEXT SENTENCE and call it his coat. (and then also call the book that) LOL...more

I love the family grouping idea. I love the aliens themselves, their culture, how they shift...all of it. This series is my favorite. I liked this book because the h already knows what's up. She's basically the alien/human liaison on the ship, so we get right into the story and don't have a lot of plot re-telling while the heroine gets up to speed. It's an enemies to lovers and a forced proximity trope, so if those are your thing....here you go! This book continues the story of the same family grouping from the previous book, and I'm very curious for the spin off that I'm guess is coming from the semi-cliffie ending to this book! I can't wait. This book was just as amazing as the rest of the series....more
