well that was really good!! I didn’t know it was a teenagey trilogy, but I actually loved it. I think is one of the only (teenage) series that isn’t cringey.

So Layla was fun. i’ve read in other reviews that Layla was a bit annoying but I personally loved her. Everything she did seem very appropriate for her age and the thing with Zayne and Danika, I couldn’t even fault her because I’ve been there so I was like “no girl, do not apologize he’s being a dick”. And the end?? GIRL I WAS LOVING FOR HER FIGHTINGGGG!!!! Oh and her not being “I’m in love” after a week? Thank you JLA🙌🏼🙌🏼 I’m so glad this wasn’t insta-love.

Now Roth I looooved. He was the typical bad boy you know, and while I usually love those type of heroes, at the beginning I always find them a bit cringey or a bit overboard. But it was just a natural for Roth like it was just him, it fit him, so I don’t know I really like him like we met him and in the next chapter I was a goner. He was really funny too and Idk I like him a lot.

My gaze dropped to our clasped hands. Warmth had traveled up my arm, and I really didn’t trust that feeling. “And you don’t need to hold my hand.” “But what if I get scared?”

So Zayne at the beginning I was like “oh this is gonna be the typical best friend who doesn’t like her” and you know like very cliché, then I kind of hated him with all the Danika stuff and I don’t know, he kinda treated Layla like trash sometimes. BUT THEN at the end when everyone came together, and he and Roth became like acquaintances just for a minute for Layla and the cause and omg I love that, when the three of them became like a little team I— I need more of that. Please. I need more of that.

I didn’t give it five stars because while it was really good, I think there were some information missing at times about a certain things. For example, that big bad evil villain at the end. I wish we could’ve seen him more during the book he was like “oh this is my plan ha ha ha I did it”and then they fought and that was the end. I don’t know it’s felt very disconnected from the story because the book spends a lot of time just focused on Layla and Roth’s relationship and you know Layla been an outsider and all the stuff. I like that, I did like that but I wish we got more than just everything at the end. I don’t know I wish we could’ve seen more throughout the book.

But I’m so excited for the rest of the story like I’m not sure what’s gonna happen, are they gonna go for Roth? they’re gonna free Lilith? like what’s going to happen??? I don’t know but I’m excited and if we get a love triangle between Zayne, Roth and Leila, I’m gonna be pissed. Because we already know Roth is endgame so I don’t wanna go back to Leila being confused about her feelings, like no thanks, give me more plot!!
