Simply bad

A book can only be as good as its conflict.

This book had so many half-assed conflicts they all combined to make this almost unbearable.

🔻 The slept-with-MMC-twice-and-became-a-stalker psycho ex
🔻 The I-want-to-be-alpha tantrum throwing, wife-beating, wants to r*pe a 14 y.o, has the most obvious sabotage plans uncle
🔻 The ancients laws that don't allow them to use truth magic on the alpha contestant (seriously, why? it won't affect them during the competition)
🔻 Catty women left and right
🔻 Three brothers that love each other but pretend to hate each other for stupid reasons
🔻 Evil elders that want things to be bad... for reasons?
🔻 Random laws that keep popping just to make life easier for the villains, but would have no reason to exist if their actual goal was to keep werewolves secret.

and as if the alpha trial drama wasn't enough there's a random kidnaping 90% in with
🔻 A crazy, I-want-power human secretly turning himself a werewolf
🔻 And his crazy, evil psycho father.

Instead of leaving us to our misery with all that mess of a plot, the author brought this sentence into existence:

He French kissed her p*ssy.

⏭ 50% in I listened to this x 1.60 to finish it because... I don't know. I feel as if this book would've won if I had DNF'd.

One more book that's making me wonder if the audible subscription is worth the price...
