I vehemently hated the female character, Tayla, for 80% of this book, possibly more. She's stupid, whiney, angsty, emo, and super fucking annoying. Hated so much I thought of DNF-ing it, and I might have, but I ate chocolate mousse while I read.

Eidolon is the male mc. I liked him, he's a hot demon doctor who doesn't seen to find Tayla super annoying. He's rather enchanted by her fiery judgmental behavior, which made me wonder if he had a degenerative brain disorder. Seems he kind of did, but he still wanted to get hot with the idiot female.

The book is all about Tayla being a whiney emo and making everyone want to end her. Eidolon is all patient & kind with her. Then the "murder mystery" continues. Lots of sex and denying attraction between all these things.

I hate Gem, too.

Kira Tayla was obnoxious. The book would have been better if Eidolon had killed her instead of dated her.

Gem was a half demon doctor who worked at a human hospital and she was secretly in love with Kynan (who's married and (view spoiler) Then you find out Gem is (view spoiler) See, Gem might be worse than Tayla. I can see why your internal "this book is going to be awful" radar went off within a few pages.

I think my awful book radar is getting too sharp, I DNF books before the 10% mark now, haha. Do you know that IA talked about "preemptive DNF" in a blog post the other day? She read a book blurb and decided to DNF. Hahaha, I love that woman!!

Monty Cupcake ☠ Queen of Bloodshed ☠ Nope, not evil, just even more whiny and irrational than Tayla. And she's hopelessly in love with Kynan, even after finding out who he really is & knowing she has negative chance at even being friends with him now, she still chases after him. Also, zero fighting skills for Gem.

Monty Cupcake ☠ Queen of Bloodshed ☠ Ok, Aileene, I retract the above statement, I didn't like book 2 either. I gave it 2 stars. Book 3 I gave 4 stars, so books 3-6 are good, haha. I'm on book 7 right now.

Laiba Mobusher I've noticed this one thing in all of larrisa ione books. The female leads don't have the back bone..they may seem like they have it, like fighting demons n all but when it comes to the male lead characters they forgive them so easily 🙄as if they haven't just cheated on them (in shades case) or lied to them (in wraith's case).
