First of all, I want to say I like Pamela Ann's style of writting!
Simple, like that. I have fun while I read her work, even when I already noticed her characters are kind of... the same ones, but with different names. lololol
I know, this sound bad (and mean), but if I didn't enjoyed the writing I would quit easily this book. lol
The plot verging the absurd and nonsense all the time. Callum is stubborn as hell and wise as a door. But Stela did a fine progress.
Maybe have some spoilers...

Once upon a time, Callum fell in love with a greedy bitch who prefered to marry with his father... and that broke him for the rest of the world, irremediable. Then he become a womanizer, playboy... Oh, wait! But there is a 18 girl, Stela, that he agrees to protect (and her heritage) until she reach 25 age. The obvious way to ensure that is the marriage, of course, folks!!
Ok, so she, as a defenseless rich heir, need a man's shade to protect her and make the mainly decisions for her until she can make that for herself............WHAT?????? Absurd. I had to go back and confirm if that story really happens in XXI century. Plus, someone explain me what's the deal with that age? Why a person could put in his will that his heir can only access the heritage after wait for so long?)
Back to the blurb:
Callum made his tutor role for Stela successfully for three years, they have their lifes and minimal personal contact... But then, his family made pressure on him to get married and quit that shameless style of life he takes. To prevent the bother, Callum appeals for his fake wife to pretend to be his fiancée in front of his family, which she quickly agrees... since he take her virginity. Because she is tired to be a virgin. That's a fair, fair reason! But she also argues that she promissed for her already passed away mother that she would delivery her virginity only to her husband.
They discussing everything in his office room in a afternoon, while drinking coffee. Then, acted like bunnies, falling in lust, so in love... but Callum have unfinished issues with the bitch who married his father. And that goes for all the book along.

Unreal.
Unlikely.
Nonsense.
I read until the end, I did have funny moments but most of the time I was rolling my eyes until my neck.
I think is a challenge for a writer make distinct characters (not only different storylines). Above all, the heroes's features are so, so, so overdone and beaten. We already have a lot of tattoo bad guys on motorcycle, huge and brave cops or FBI agents, or wealthy and dark magnates on black and tie (I'll not include in that list hot aliens, sorry). What they have in common was the skills on sex, the good looking and the caveman behavior. (Am I hearing a complaint, folks??... un-uh, not from here! Actually my only complaint is not meet them)

Callum remember me a lot Blake from the Chasing serie. And God knows I have a crush... a deep cliff for that man! He is gorgeous. Sienna don't deserve him.
Also, I think marriages of convenience is like popcorn on microwave. You can't fail in cook popcorn on microwave!!

Now, lets talk about the best in the book: THE COVER!!
What a luscious cover!
I want the female model's dress!!
I want the female model's hairstyle!!
And, mainly! I want the male model to marry me! Ok, ok... not for marriage... but I still want him!

@Jill Hahahaha Sometimes, an abusrd plot is just what we need to let it go of dramas and rationalization. It was so "we are rich people, we live in Laland and everything is great" that you can't help but laughing XD
And you? Are having fun with your currently book?
hehehe, you are in good, big, callused hands then! Lucky girl!
My pleasure!
No, really! I'm just jealous here, don't pay attention on me.
Since my boys don't care about breasts, I have to crave this in other updates. Btw, let me say again: I loved your explanation in Cut&Run's review about 'why you prefer straight romances'. Is flawless. I wish I could quote you sometime <3
Hugs
I really, really appreciate your saying..."
Sometimes I feel like give rating a books is a blur. I tried to be coherent and rational, but my emotions always wins over it.
I gave 4 stars for books that now I barely remember the story. Even 2 stars means to me a 'didn't-rock-my-world-but-is-a-ok-book'.
Now 5 stars must to be something big. *_*
I'll wouldn't lie to you, I'll never give up of f/m books exactly for the reasons you exposed so well. But is a old resentment that most of the times, in f/m books, you don't have believable and likable characters. How many awful books you read it until you find a good one? What about a VERY GOOD ONE? Is like find a needle in a haystack. :(
By no means I'm criticizing the sex factor in books. If I see a romance in GR recs that I can tell by the blurb the maximum that I'll get would be hands holding and light smiles, I ignore it without a blink. My point is the 'lazyness' of some writers to do a plot's good development and give us not only a gorgeous (and unlikely) man to fall in love but also a honest and worthy heroine, not 'willing and horny bitches' or 'stupid and dull virgins'. Not to mention insta-love, 'two weeks in a beach acting like bunnies and suddenly I love you, lets marry and have babies'. Of course I know is a trend though sad.
So, you don't have that in m/m books? Of course you have it, but on a small scale since m/m is still a little market, which means only good writers reachs acceptance and credit for their books. But I can tell you fine works of writers that gave to me not only one character to love, but two. Those long readings you see in my update or Lena's is much more than sex.
Plus
Anyway, I keep return to f/m books for the same reasons. After all I can't trick my heart
I do understand why readers ..."
Oh, I'm not trying to pushing you on this stuff. You have your mind made up, and this is good for my feed, hehehehehe #selfish
I'll tell you a secret, my secret, taking off Special Forces, all the others m/m I read failed to avoid me to compare and deep inside wishing. Right now I'm reading a book that constantly I wonder... could be a woman here. And that would make this book: golden reading! =P
But silver is good too!
hahahaha
that is easy!
Please have a sit, my fair lady! I know you are a very choosy and classy reader! So, in historical romance's department, I'd suggest Judith Mcnaught. I think is pretty possible you already know her, since you read a lot of historical, even so... :)
My fav (is hard to pick one) is Something Wonderful and Whitney, My Love.
Now Sandra Brown have gorgeous contemporaneous romances. I have next to my heart: Mirror Image, Led Astray and for a quick one: Breakfast in Bed
HAHAHAHAHAHA!! You have me! You have me!!
I'm all yours!!!
Jesus!! I still dream about Tate from Mirror Image! I want to marry him! And I even like the idea of marry someone!
You took the words right out of my thoughts, I can't think in anyone beside him.
I'd love read again. Plus Avery is a very likable heroine! So, it was like bonus!
Now that I'm thinking about it... Tate only could be a Senator. What other office would be? Even Sandra Brown couldn't make a mayor, for example, looks atractive and sexy.
Now buddie read...... you can count on that!!
I have to refresh my memory about the details. Just tell me when! Any book of McNaught would be fine too!
