3.5 stars. Ok, the whole storyline was a bit unbelievable but I must say I did enjoy this one. Rich man, younger woman, promise to her brother to take care of her, live separate lives, ex-lover, rotten father, London townhouses, yachts, dinner parties, friends .... it kinda worked for me.

Well.. if you're into love triangle with a guy who can't decide who he wants.. then FALLING FOR MY HUSBAND is for you!

I'm a masochist, I love reading heroine who suffer emotionally. I enjoy reading doormat/tstl insecure heroines. lol! (yes, I'm weird!) Unrequited love and cheating heroes? Heck! Sign me up please!

I know...

description

I thought Falling For My Husband was going to be a light sexy read but I was wrong.. gosh, it has full of angst that in 50% of the book I was already emotionally drained! I wanted to throw the damn book because really it was a train wreck but for some unknown reason I just couldn't look away!

“Is she still in here?”
He paused, breathing hard. “Yes, I’m sorry that she is.”
I swallowed what little saliva I had left. “You’re going to end up hurting me, Cal. I’m scared.”

Stella..

description

She's selfless and willing to give way just to see Callum find his own happiness. The way she was hurting inside but put up a brave face was heartbreaking to read. I just wished she let Callum grovel a lil bit more.. every time he touch her or kiss her seems like her wits went out of the window.

“Like the fuck it would! I won’t let you!” he fiercely gritted out. “I want your love, in my hands, in my arms, next to me, every night. So, no, you don’t get to say that you’re wishing it away because I’m claiming that heart of yours, Stella.”

Callum.. sigh. I have a love/hate relationship with this guy! He's a major jerk, alpha possessive, demanding, confused, cheater.. geez.. you name it.. that's CALLUM! Don't get me wrong, he was nice but most of the time a jerk that makes me want to..

description

“I didn’t know what I wanted. When it came to Zara and Stella, I was confused.”

The love triangle was amazingggg! It's rare to find a book where the hero is in between. He was confused and undecided which gave me joy but frustrate me at the same time! Reading Callum's pov and the way he was hurting Stella emotionally brought out my masochist side!

description

Overall I liked it! Sure there were a lot of editing/typos issues but that didn't lessen me for liking the book! So 4 stars for me!

1.5 stars; I thought this one was going to be short, sweet & smutty...Not!

I disliked the hero. The love between the h/h was a bit one-sided and underdeveloped.

Tis a shame because the heroine had potential and the story could've been better, given its premise. I don't know what the author was aiming towards--middle to end of the story.

And of course the need for editing didn't help it.

DNF.
Man, this plot is plain stupid.
No chemistry whatsoever, cheating hero, childish and annoying heroine, arranged marriage... should I go on?
I rarely post bad reviews, but this was a waste of my time.

First and last read by this author. What was I thinking. The premise sounded like a book that I would enjoy ,so started my reading into wtf ery.
The heroine was an idiot who yeah was a virgin who promised her dying mother she would only give hymen to her husband ,but she never said anything about having anal sex!!!This she had with her ex bf.
The hero on the other hand, semi liked him,but he pissed me off a few times.
Okay,rant finished....

First of all, let me tell you what I DO love about this book. It was set in London! YAY!!! I love the city, I love the Brits, can't say it enough.

Anyway, back to the book. Liked it, but didn't love it. While it had all the formula to be my kinda story, I feel it's lacking something. I don't know, maybe all of these billionaire romance started to get old for me. Lacking in a dose of reality, I'd say.

Character wise, Stella was great, I could relate to her because I could do what she did reacting to a man-child named Callum Kensington! I wanted to slap him a few times! Him being older, had an alpha attitude and overly possessive, but mostly he's just a boy, was plain infuriating. Took a lot to get him to realize.

Few years ago, this story would appeal to me, was into more sweet, sappy romance. But now my taste has been changed a bit. It's a nice quick read.

------------------------------

I didn't like the hero, he is undecided about the love for heroin until the end of the book.
He is also thinking about his ex all the time ... a bitch who traded him by his father.
What an idiot!
He fucks another woman when he was already with the heroine ... I found it disgusting.
The story had potential ... but I was disappointed.

This is another arranged marriage via favor of a loved one and somewhat similar to The Guardian. Callum is nursing a broken heart after being rejected by his lady love Zara (she married his dad two weeks before their planned elopement) when he gets an urgent call from his best friend Richard. He’s dying and wants Cal to marry his 18-yr-old sister (Stella) in name only with an expiration date to protect her/be her guardian.

Then we FFW several years with Stella breaking up with her bf (Derek) and Cal participating in 6-week dalliances. (his heart is dead) Stella requests Cal to deflower her to fulfill a promise to her dead mother (waiting until marriage) because she wants to move on. He eventually agrees and starts the push/pull 〰️ back-and-forth that goes until the end.

Bottom Line- I liked this one better than The Guardian because Stella was MUCH more likable than Giselle. There’re also less OW/OM shenanigans but plenty of drama-llama. It’s still soap on steroids but didn’t feel as nutso as that book. (although I felt it dragged a smidge too long) The ex -GF causes some OW drama but most of the conflict comes from Cal sorting out his man feelings.

PPFF Rating: 4/5 Stars
The (stupid) things people do for and because of love.

I was feeling a bit generous after reading this book, thus the 4-rating. To be honest, I almost shelved this one as DNF after only several chapters in.

So why 4 stars?  Well, for all the things that were bad about this book, the good parts, overall, made me quite happy in the end.

First, let's talk about THE BAD.

When I added this to my to-read shelf on GoodReads, I immediately got excited about the premise of the story. I like me some marriage of convenience books. But right from the start, the tone and how it was written seemed off to me personally. I'm not sure if it was just me but they sounded awkward in my head. I mean, it did get better halfway but it was initially one of the reasons why I almost gave up on it.

After all, it's always going to be a struggle when the flow doesn't run as smoothly or as naturally as it should.

Another issue that I had with the book was the abundance of typos. I really don't get how this was allowed to get published when there were clearly still A LOT of proofreading to be done. Seriously, I've never been one to be anal about technicalities but this was just terrible in that aspect.

And the love scenes? I must admit I skimmed over several times. The descriptions were ridiculous. The dirty talks were just plain dirty, it simply didn't work for me.

I also have to mention how I loved/hated Callum Kensington. He made me so frustrated that there were times when I really wanted to beat the crap out of him for being SO STUPID! Ugh! Until now I'm feeling a bit riled up just thinking about how he was being such a douche to Stella von Berg.

Speaking of Stella, her character was the book's saving grace for me. Actually, she was basically the GOOD part of the whole book. Although I was shaking my head a few times at how much of a martyr she was because of her love for Callum, I was also admiring her for it. She wasn't the typical strong heroine that I liked but she wasn't, by any means, a doormat either. She didn't easily cry even when she was obviously hurting inside. In the end, she was able to hold her own against Callum.

The moments I enjoyed the most were the times when Stella was with other guys. Callum wasn't supposed to be affected as part of his I-don't-get-attached persona but he ended up being so jealous and possessive anyway. Nothing like a good ego boost!

Falling For My Husband had a lot of potential to be a great read. All the elements were there but it just wasn't written well. If you can get over the bad parts, you may end up liking the book just like I surprisingly did. Unfortunately, I think a lot of people would either hate this or end up not finishing it.

I'm not really a book prude. I enjoy the steamy steamy stuff, but this just made me a bit uncomfortable. I felt like I needed a shower.... And not a cold one, but a long one with a loofa and antibacterial soap.

The typos are REALLY bad. You can tell spell check did a number on this because words that should be "life" are subbed in with "wife". Or "Gave" should be "Have". So words are correctly spelled but incorrectly used. There are several instances where words are just all together missing and you have to re-read several sentences to try and determine the intended meaning.

I felt like all the story lines were too far fetched as well. He's a billionaire with a GF, Father steels her (but only to hurt the son, doesn't sleep with her but enforces her to be contractually bound to him for 3 years only), dying BFF ask Callum to marry sister and both participants agree w no hesitation even though they don't know each other. Idk, it just wasn't my cup of Earl Grey. Basically, i just didn't connect or have any affection for Callum. I don't like leaving reviews that are negative, but what I don't like even more is reading the book that wasn't worth my time or money. :(

The bad editing just got worse as the story progressed. When I hit the 75% mark it seemed there was no effort to edit or proofread at all.

The main characters in this one did not really generate any empathy/sympathy from me. This is my first book by this author and I was not impressed. I enjoy this genre and the blurb peaked my interest, but the execution was disappointing.

It is true - I am a huge Pamela Ann fan!
Her new series "British Billionaires" did not disappoint.

NOTE: While this may be a new series - I recommend reading Chasing Beautiful (Chasing, #1) by Pamela Ann series & the Scornfully Yours (Torn, #1) by Pamela Ann series before this one. There are spoilers in this book from those series.

Callum is a Billionaire (of course he is scorching HOT!). Stella "the child" is Richard's little sister (Richard is also a Billionaire)... This story is their tale. Their battle to find happy. I was happy and sad while reading this book - I even was brought to actual tears! I felt the love and the battle to get to it...

"You're a great listener and a good friend."
Ouch.
F*&^. The friend part did me in.

I can't scream it loud enough - read this book.

Stella and Callum!
Callum and Stella!
Mmmmm....

A steamy and short read!
I have to say that the dirty talk was off the charts!!! And I enjoyed every moment of it.

The on again off again couple was likeable and I enjoyed the chemistry and Callum's alpha possessive side.

Some of the "events" that took place were not very realistic but I set my expectations correctly and fully enjoyed the experience of Falling For My Husband.

And did I mention that Callum is British? And HOT and Sexy?

Overall, I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a hot and short read. : )

I could not put this book down. Pamela Ann is already my favorite author, but she continues to amaze me with each book. She gets better and better. I loved this book and this story. Cal is now my new book boyfriend. The way she wrote the characters is amazing. The sex scenes are hotter than I can even imagine! This book has everything.... You will laugh, cry, hold your breath and experience extreme sadness in one breath and then pure happiness in the next. This is a must read for anyone that wants to experience an amazing love story that is hot, hot, hot!

This was super fun! I devoured this thing. The two of them were super hot together. I loved how crazy j/p he was and how adoring she was. She just makes him absolutely snap lol. I loved seeing this dude lose it with her. He was a total asshole but she still was so considerate of him and their situation while also serving his shit right back to him. The best thing about this one was that it was a total unpredictable read, I never had any clue what was going to come out his mouth or what either of them were going to do next.

Overall: 3.5

My main problem was the hero because if anyone dared to pronounce the L word he was like...

L word
 photo tumblrmkyycoz3bl1rmwky5o5500_zps0de2f524.gif
 photo tumblrmkyycoz3bl1rmwky5o10400_zpsf7f20fae.gif

 photo tumblrmkyycoz3bl1rmwky5o4400_zps012dbeb8.gif

Besides that, he didn't know what he wanted so that caused a lot of pain to the heroine.
I don't know if I totally reommend it, mainly because of Cal's attitude a lot of people may find it annoying, I find him insecure, jealous, possesive and sometimes a little mean, while Stella was much more considerate and understanding towards him, I believe it was a tipical case, when the girl falls over and over again just because the guy knows how to sweet talk, until she thinks that's enough then after a while she falls again, but I liked it and I want to read the next one.

Sex Scene is WOW, but i don't like how Callum still sex with other woman after he and Stella became real couple.

and his feeling for Zara (Callum ex), get it over man. She married to your father, he still think Zara the most beautiful woman he ever met, still feel aroused toward her, and confused about his love to her even after he spend time with Stella.

Callum can't give his love for Stella because he still love Zara or he afraid about being in love again. Hmmm????

i have nooooooo idea why i even "read" this book. i skimmed through the entire thing.

one word to describe this book: whiplash-inducing. juvenile characters who couldn't make up their minds. a male protagonist who positively was an asshole without the redeeming qualities. this is probably the end of the journey in this series for me.

First of all, I want to say I like Pamela Ann's style of writting!

Simple, like that. I have fun while I read her work, even when I already noticed her characters are kind of... the same ones, but with different names. lololol

I know, this sound bad (and mean), but if I didn't enjoyed the writing I would quit easily this book. lol

The plot verging the absurd and nonsense all the time. Callum is stubborn as hell and wise as a door. But Stela did a fine progress.

Maybe have some spoilers...

Once upon a time, Callum fell in love with a greedy bitch who prefered to marry with his father... and that broke him for the rest of the world, irremediable. Then he become a womanizer, playboy... Oh, wait! But there is a 18 girl, Stela, that he agrees to protect (and her heritage) until she reach 25 age. The obvious way to ensure that is the marriage, of course, folks!!

Ok, so she, as a defenseless rich heir, need a man's shade to protect her and make the mainly decisions for her until she can make that for herself............WHAT?????? Absurd. I had to go back and confirm if that story really happens in XXI century. Plus, someone explain me what's the deal with that age? Why a person could put in his will that his heir can only access the heritage after wait for so long?)

Back to the blurb:

Callum made his tutor role for Stela successfully for three years, they have their lifes and minimal personal contact... But then, his family made pressure on him to get married and quit that shameless style of life he takes. To prevent the bother, Callum appeals for his fake wife to pretend to be his fiancée in front of his family, which she quickly agrees... since he take her virginity. Because she is tired to be a virgin. That's a fair, fair reason! But she also argues that she promissed for her already passed away mother that she would delivery her virginity only to her husband.

They discussing everything in his office room in a afternoon, while drinking coffee. Then, acted like bunnies, falling in lust, so in love... but Callum have unfinished issues with the bitch who married his father. And that goes for all the book along.

Unreal.
Unlikely.
Nonsense.

I read until the end, I did have funny moments but most of the time I was rolling my eyes until my neck.

I think is a challenge for a writer make distinct characters (not only different storylines). Above all, the heroes's features are so, so, so overdone and beaten. We already have a lot of tattoo bad guys on motorcycle, huge and brave cops or FBI agents, or wealthy and dark magnates on black and tie (I'll not include in that list hot aliens, sorry). What they have in common was the skills on sex, the good looking and the caveman behavior. (Am I hearing a complaint, folks??... un-uh, not from here! Actually my only complaint is not meet them)

Callum remember me a lot Blake from the Chasing serie. And God knows I have a crush... a deep cliff for that man! He is gorgeous. Sienna don't deserve him.

Also, I think marriages of convenience is like popcorn on microwave. You can't fail in cook popcorn on microwave!!

Now, lets talk about the best in the book: THE COVER!!
What a luscious cover!
I want the female model's dress!!
I want the female model's hairstyle!!
And, mainly! I want the male model to marry me! Ok, ok... not for marriage... but I still want him!

2022 = DNF'd

The writing is so bad it could win a prize for cringeworthy literature. The characters are bland and indistinct with similar voices. I tried to skim through, but I DNF'd after seeing some of the nauseating sex scenes. I didn’t know whether to laugh or look for a barf bag! 🫢

🤢 Sickening Sex Scene Excerpts:

▪️ The sight of her pink, untried slit, was epic beauty for my eyes.

▫️ ...I sucked on her essence...

▪️ ...humping the sheets of the bed as I paid homage to her sweetness.

▫️ I was a blue ball of racketing pain as I eyed her slit.

▪️ ...I pulled out my cock, stroked it and came all over her pussy, covering it with my white essence.

▫️ Her wetness, the musky scent that I laved on last night made me want to taste a drop of her nectar...

▪️ I felt the wall of her purity, and I felt it break open-it felt like it was peeling my cock...

▫️ ...I rolled her skirt up and ripped the scrap of hindrance that was blocking my way into her channel.

▪️ ...I'm going to f*ck it until I feel like I am blasting through space, blazing hot and ready to come to earth...

▫️ ...my orgasm peaked, about to spurt out of my dick.

▪️ ...she looked up, waiting for me to bless her with my seed.

▫️ ...the ropes of my essence landed on her cheek...

▪️ A quick glance at our joined sexes and I was delighted to see white liquid coated my length as I slid in and out of her hole.

ARROGANT HERO

Callum Kensington, did his BF a big favour three years ago, Richard was dying. He wanted Callum to marry his 18 year old sister. As an heiress she would be easy prey for the wolves after his death. Willing to do anything for his friend he agrees. The marriage is to remain until Stella Von Berg's 26th birthday. But until then Callum will control her money and generally keep an watchful eye on her.

They rarely meet during the first three years, but then Callum's mother is pushing for him to get married. So he asks Stella to help him out and go with him to stay with his mother for a week. Pretending to be his fiancée.

This is a difficult book to review, the premise is a very good idea. I just wish that I could have liked Callum a whole lot better than I did. He's an arrogant ass who cares little for anyone else. Stella was a likeable character, there were times though that I couldn't quite work out if she was being or clever, or just weak. The person from Callum's past added the angst. I was not keen on his handling of that. On the other hand Stella handled Callum very well on the whole. The sex in this is vey graphic. This one of those books that readers will either love or hate. I liked it, but I was disappointed with all the typos.

I read this because I thought it was a place-holder of sorts, like the book you read when you just want to pass time and a reprieve from heavy books.

I WAS WRONG HUHU

Things got so intense a quarter into the back and huhu I just love the angst part of this book, the perfect blend of self-angst and unrequited love. There have been moments when I absolutely hated Callum's dominance, 'cause it borderlined rude-asshole level, but then idk they both are just so intense. They keep on running on opposite directions because they both love each other (YES CALLUM, IT TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH, BUT I BELIEVED IN YOU, BABY) and it's kind of stupid, but they way these scenes were written, you cannot even think about it because the angst just drowns out every other thought.

There are parts of this book that seem so detached though. Could be improved. But the raw emotions it delivered makes up for this. :)

Also, I just love reading my name on books. Hihi. Really pleasant surprises when I stumble upon it. :P

There's not much to say. I read the book because I need a break from school and it made my inner female growl for some hot imaginary fiction character to drool over.

Seriously, take out the steamy scenes, you have characters that are so fucked-up you won't even try reading this book. There's this man who can't even decide what he wants in life. Even the mention of the L-word scares the crap out of him. And there's this girl who keeps on screwing this man even though he can't be hers.

I was looking for something..

Sadly, this book didn't give me that something.
