Σπάνια διαβάζω ποίηση, κυρίως γιατί δεν την κατανοώ, δε με αγγίζει, συνήθως δε με συγκινεί.
Τα Γράμματα σ' ένα νέο ποιητή, όμως, δεν είναι ποίηση με την έννοια πως δε μιλάει για κάτι αφηρημένο κι έννοιες αόριστες. Θα μπορούσε να είναι βιβλίο αυτοβοήθειας, φιλοσοφικό εγχειρίδιο, οδηγός ζωής. Σίγουρα αριστούργμα. Δε θα το περιγράψω γιατί σε τέτοιες περιπτώσεις οι λέξεις το ευτελίζουν. Άλλωστε, το λέει καλύτερα ο Franz Kappus στην εισαγωγή:

"And where a great and unique person speaks, the rest of us should be silent."
