Cat of a Different Color (Halle Pumas, #3)

Cat of a Different Color is the third book of the Halle Pumas series. This is Adrian and Sheridan’s book. Sheri is on the run from an abusive wolf-shifter relationship; she also has albinism, and the author gives us some info on the condition. Adrian is the co-eye dr. with Max; he’s pretty quiet, not a player. This is the first book where the couple were both already shifters, it’s also the first h that had previous sexual relationships. There’s a little resistance because Sheri doesn’t want to put Adrian in danger by claiming him. Other than saying “owie” she’s more mature/grown up compared to the previous h’s.
The main conflict in this one is dodging the attacks of the crazy ex. The author also spends page time into “remaking” Belinda from bitchy sidekick, to Belle, sweet and misunderstood, shunned pridemate. I typically don’t dig the villain overhaul, but Belinda really wasn’t bad (she made a couple of bitchy-ish comments the first book) so I’m ok w/ it. :) We’re also introduced to members of the neighboring wolf pack. (I smell spin-off)
Bottom Line-Better than the last one. Sheri/Adrian are probably the lowest key, most mature of the bunch, so it wasn’t full of stupid jokes… a plus for me. The epilogue sets up the next book for a Puma/Wolf match up.
