“Bravery is a fleeting beast, isn’t it? Always there to get you into trouble, but quick to disappear once you’re where you want to be.”
I love and respect you immensely, Jennifer L. Armentrout because of which I really want to be biased and rate this book five stars straightaway. But I'm afraid I don't want to mislead people. I want to convince you all to read it (especially for the last 20 chapters) but I'm afraid you might resent the middle, slow parts.

Major spoilers for A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire and extremely major spoilers for From Blood and Ash
The Crown of Gilded Bones picked up right where Book 2 ended. No sooner had Poppy set foot in the Kingdom of Atlantia than she realised that she has been betrayed in the harshest possible manner by her very confidante. Reeling from the betrayal, Atlantians' distrust and meeting with Prince Casteel's parents who may or may not like her, Poppy has to endure a long yet rigorous journey to help Atlantia free their other Prince, Malik. As she embarks on her journey, she learns more about her heritage, parents, power and also the Rise of Gods and the History of Atlantia (most of which I skipped).
She is also faced with the responsibility of overtaking the throne to become the next Queen but even before she takes the decision, truth bombs and shocking revelations are thrown her way, and she has to decide what to place first- her unconditional love for her husband or the future of Atlantia. She also has an important decision to make: Instill war and watch many of her own die or ensuring peace and watch her enemies survive.
“Unrest and unease are two very powerful destabilizers of any society. No matter how great one is, they can be taken apart piece by piece from the inside, often weakening the foundation to the point of collapse before anyone realizes what is happening.”
Is it just me or was Poppy depicted as super powerful beyond any existing measure? I mean I get that she has the blood of gods running through her blood vessels (I need to wear a rubber band on my wrist and pull it whenever I say this, honestly), but I felt like Casteel's power was downplayed constantly to show her extent of strength. He is the Prince of Atlantia for a damned reason and I just couldn't help but feel like his role in this book was mostly that of a hype boy for Poppy.
Also, I'm glad that we got more Kieran-time in this installment. Without him, I'd probably have skipped the middle portion of the book completely, no kidding. I'm glad to have witnessed another angle, a whole new facet of his character that I didn't in books one and two. He came off as extremely caring, affectionate and emotional and I can't help but swoon over him.
“The heart doesn’t care how long you may have with someone.” Kieran looked over at me, his eyes sheltered. “It just cares that you have the person for as long as you can.”
If you want to read this book, I won't promise you that it's going to be all daisies and rainbows and unicorns. If you hated books 1 and 2, then don't even give this book a try. You'll hate it with all fringes of your consciousness. I'm sure of it.
But for those who liked/loved the first two books. Hold on to the book, despite the few chapters in between. Because when you read the last few chapters, you will poetically wax on about it for hours together.

So true. 2020 needs to go back to the hell-hole it came from. Everything is utterly chaotic.
Ahahahaha 😂
Fortunately, nope. There will be a fourth book too!
It'll cause you too much pain if you read it now. The wait is slow and torturous lol. You should probably read all of them in March. If i could go back and change what I did, I definitely would 😂💔
Exactly argh
I've heard that the author mentioned the fact that there would be four books (one in Hawke's pov) but I however, haven't seen her post/announcement directly
Me too!! But I'm also really scared because my expectations for this are sky high
6 BOOKS? BRB while I go scream to the top of my lungs😱😱
I deactivated my Facebook account, so I had no freaking idea!!
THIS!!! It's not like the author didn't mention it's NA 🙌
IrI didn't know anything about more books for this series but this are GREAT news!!!!I need moreee, more of Casteel and Poppy and of course Kieran!!!!I need to see the bond!!!!!I am sure that this will be epic!even better than the previus ones!
GURL, me too!! Back in August 2020, I strictly decided for myself that I would not read these books until all of them came out. But my will power couldn't resist people in the Update feed going "OMG I'm in Love, OMG my favourite book of 2020". So I have my Goodreads pals to blame 😂
I haven't waited for a book like this either (Maybe for ACoSF).
Have you read the sample chapters? That's my first biggest mistake for 2021
Ahhhh I can feel ya! It feels like time's running especially slow now that I'm awaiting something desperately. Have you read the first three chapters? Something tells me I'm going to love this book, but I'm trying hard to have an open mind. If JLA disappoints me, then I can only imagine the amount of trust issues I'll have with other books lol.
If you come across more books of this trope, please let me know 😍
Yes of course!!!I found this serie thank goodread comunity and god!!!I am so grateful to all of you!!!this book has changed my life!I always love YA fantasy books but this is a superb masterpiece!!!the romance between Cas and Poppy is soooo lovely!!!!i can't get bored with their pretensions!!!let's find more books like this and have a better lifeeee🥰🥰🥰🥰
ASTONISHING is an understatement OMG. I never knew so much would go down in just three chapters. I'm trying my best not to give you spoilers lol because I'm freaking out. I totally shouldn't have read those three chapters.
TWO DAYS!!!!!!Glad to know we agree on so many things related to this book :) More books like this? I'd sell my soul honestly.
Holly crap!!!is it??Now I don't know if I am going to punch myself in the face for not reading those chapters..I am still checking the clock, sometimes it seems that the time is not running correctly....FINALLY this waiting will FINISHED TODAY!!!!oh yesss!!!!I am ready for the book!!!!!!I want to close my eyes so harddd and see if in a blink I can have the book in my hands!!
Oh please!!!!there has to be some books like thissss!!!!we still have those 3 books that the author is probably writting now (or cooking in her head, giving shape...)so that means we have to waitu a longggg time ....I can't guarantie that I will survive this hype after finishing this book without having another one for calming myself
Holly crap!!!is it??Now I don't know if I am going to punch myself in the face for not reading those chapters..I am still checking the clock, somet..."
You can read it now considering this book will come out soon. I might have to wait longer if it's released in US standard time :(
Or maybe we could check her other series out ( they might have a similar plot line)
They just talk about it, and... Nvm I'll end up giving minor spoilers 😂

Wow I had no idea 😂 There is a threesome but it doesn't include the MCs 😁
A massive one. In book 2? (view spoiler)
Yup there are too many such scenes. I skipped some of them, and I also skipped some of the history lessons about Wolven, Nyktos and other crap. I was able to catch up without any difficulty :)
another cliffhanger?! Gosh!
Ohh yeah...
