Rye Whiskey

The Bushwick is a rye whiskey drink invented during the New York craft cocktail revival in 2009. It's a slightly modified take on the pre-Prohibition Brooklyn cocktail, itself created as a companion to the classic Manhattan.

Essentially a lightly sparkling Manhattan dose with an ounce of Champagne, the Boothby is a San Francisco rye whiskey classic that dates to the decades before Prohibition, but the most interesting thing about this cocktail may be the bartender who invented it.

The Manhattan Transfer, invented by bartender Phil Ward, is a drink from the early days of legendary NYC bar Death & Co that uses dark amaro and rye whiskey to connect the classic Manhattan to the world of Italian bitter cocktails.
