To Whom It May Concern:

I’m delighted to recommend Nicholas Flores for a position in your district. Nicholas was a student in
my Foundations of Literacies and Single Subject Methods courses during his Teaching Credential/MA
program at the University of Redlands School of Education.

The School of Education prioritizes social justice, educational equity, and adaptations for English
Learners and Special Needs Students. As education’s landscape continuously evolves, Nicholas’s
involvement in our program places him at a theoretical and practical advantage for working with
culturally and linguistically diverse students.

Among Nicholas’s numerous strengths are his rapport with students, familiarity with student needs,
and creative lesson planning. During our methods course, Nicholas designed an interdisciplinary unit
on history, literature, and biology, which resulted in a Frankenstein study. Nicholas contributed the
historical points and educated his teammates about accuracy. I was especially impressed with
Nicholas’s knowledge of technological resources to enhance the unit. He makes an effort to connect
with students in order to enrich the classroom environment, as evidenced by his special education
classroom visit reports. Nicholas is a determined and motivated candidate who is eager to enter the
profession. I’m confident Nicholas will effortlessly incorporate these learnings into his own classroom
teaching.

I highly recommend Nicholas as a valuable asset to your district. Please contact me with any further
enquiries regarding his qualifications. Feel free to email at anne_castagnaro@redlands.edu or call at
909-374-6738.

Sincerely,
