FOOD FROM THE EARTH. TO KNOW ABOUT DIFFERENT CULTURE ABOUT FOOD ALL AROUNDTHEWORLD.
1 You have to look for or find out about some food and culture in 4 countries of
you preference
- (Including your place of origin); describing their geography, climate, and food. (Paragraph, no single sentences)
Describing some food and dishes (specially your favorite)
*Dominican Republic: The Geography of the country is greatly diverse, ranging from arid semi-desert plains to
verdant valleys of tropical rain forests. This endows the island with a wide variety of vegetation. The Dominican
Republic’s shores are washed by the Caribbean to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north. The climate is
generally hot with tropical temperatures all year, although it does vary from region to region. About the food, a
traditional breakfast would have in it mangú, fried eggs, Dominican fried salami, fried cheese and sometimes
avocado. This is called "Los Tres Golpes" or "The Three Hits" and that´s my favorite. Other dishes are Rice that is
the main staple of Dominican cuisine, Sweet cream of beans that is uniquely Dominican dish and is an important
tradition in the Dominican Republic, and it's one of the most popular Dominican foods.
*Italy: Italy is a boot-shaped peninsula that juts out of southern Europe into the Adriatic Sea, Tyrrhenian Sea,
Mediterranean Sea, and other waters. Its location has played an important role in its history. The sea surrounds
Italy, and mountains crisscross the interior, dividing it into regions. Italy is known for its Mediterranean climate,
which is found mainly on the coast. Inland, it is generally cooler and wetter but usually hotter during the summer.
Southern Italy has a hot and mostly dry climate while the north has more of an Alpine climate, getting lots of snow
in winter. Italian cuisine has a great variety of different ingredients which are commonly used, ranging from fruits,
vegetables, sauces, meats, etc. Examples include spaghetti (thin rods), rigatoni (tubes or cylinders), fusilli (swirls),
and lasagne (sheets). Dumplings, like gnocchi (made with potatoes or pumpkin) and noodles like spätzle, are
sometimes considered pasta. They are both traditional in parts of Italy.
*Spain: The climate of Spain is temperate with hot summers and cold winters inland and cloudy, cool summers
and cool winters along the coast. Spain occupies most of the Iberian Peninsula, stretching south from the Pyrenees
Mountains to the Strait of Gibraltar, which separates Spain from Africa. To the east lies the Mediterranean Sea,
including Spain's Balearic Islands. Spain also rules two cities in North Africa and the Canary Islands in the Atlantic.
Spanish cuisine is heavily influenced by historical processes that shaped local culture and society in some of
Europe's Iberian Peninsula territories. Paella is perhaps the most famous Spanish dish of all, and certainly one of
the most abused. Authentic paella originates from the region around Valencia, and comes in two varieties: Paella
Valenciana, with rabbit and chicken; and seafood paella.
*France: The geography of France consists of a terrain that is mostly flat plains or gently rolling hills in the north
and west and mountainous in the south (including the Pyrenees) and the east (the highest points being in the
Alps). France generally enjoys cool winters and mild summers except along the Mediterranean where mild winters
and hot summers are the norm. The French have always been proud of their sophisticated way of cooking. There
are many dishes that are considered part of French national cuisine today. A meal often consists of three courses,
hors d'œuvre or entrée (introductory course, sometimes soup), plat principal (main course), fromage (cheese
course) or dessert, sometimes with a salad offered before the cheese or dessert.
