Effictiveness of Kamias (Averrhoa Bilimbi) and Kalamansi (Citrofortunella Microcarpa) Extract As An Alternative Stain Remover

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of kamias (Averrhoa bilimbi) and kalamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) extracts as alternative stain removers. Specifically, it seeks to determine if the extracts can remove stains from fabric, how long it takes to remove stains, and if the extracts are harmful. The researchers hypothesize that the kamias and kalamansi extracts are not harmful and can effectively remove stains. They will test the extracts with and without additional variables like vinegar and baking soda. If proven effective, the extracts could provide an affordable and natural alternative to synthetic stain removers.

CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

One of the major problems of people nowadays is stain. No matter how hard we try to
protect our clothes, still we cannot stop stains from developing. This is why people use synthetic
stain removers to remove the stubborn stains on their clothes. We all know that teenagers today
are very eligible especially in wearing dress. We are more confident if we are wearing
comfortable clothes. So it is very important for us to have a a clean and neat dress. All over the
world, it is not ordinary to have a problem with our clothes. Many of the housewives has a
difficulties to remove the stains in the clothes of their husband especially those who are working
construction helper, chef and etc. Dirty marks or stain are not easily removed by just rinsing a
water so it need something that can remove the dirty marks. As we conduct this study we want
Kalamansi and Kamias (Eba) fruit is known to be as natural bleaching agent because of its
acidity to help remove stains. This study aims to know the our natural bleaching agents
(Kalamansi and Kamias) are better as stain remover under a given time. We researchers are
going to test it if kalamansi and kamias with some other variables to mix like vinegar and baking
soda so it can have an more effect to remove dirt or stain in some kinds of fabric.

Background of the study

Many products out there that are proven to remove stains to our clothes using bleaching
agents, but these products are very dependent to the times you need it. Some of their product
is even expensive and not all of us can afford. Not like an extract of Kalamansi and Bilimbi we
can use it anytime and because it is affordable but it would be a big help to us a lot. An extract
of Kalamansi and Kamias or Bilimbi fruit is basically an affordable product that can remove stain
in our clothes because of the high acid of its juice that makes a good agent for removing stains
from metal blades. Clothing stains can be classified into permanent and temporary stains.
Permanent stains are those stains which include iron rust, mildew, human perspiration stain, and
also blood stains while temporary stains are those stains which include chocolate stains, protein
stains, oil stains and many others. Some of these stains can be easily removed, but some are not.
With the use of the stain removers, stains can be removed. But not all stain removers can remove
all kinds of stains because there are stains that need to be treated with strong bleaching
agents.Bleaching agents may damage our clothing if we don’t take extra care in using this. We
have to know also that not all bleaching agents are safe to use, because there are some bleaching
agents that can be harmful not only on our clothing but also to our skin.We have to take note that
in choosing a bleaching agent to use we have to consider the effect of the bleaching agent to us.
We can also consider using the natural stain removers as an alternative to bleaching agents.
We conduct this kind of study to be able to have another background study about natural
bleaching agent and to build natural product that is a solution for a stains. This kind of project is
very affordable as well as the materials are easily to found. We want to solve the problem of
most people in removing stain. So, aside for this product is natural, health-friendly and
affordable we also conduct this study because it is not harmful to use and easy to experiment.

Statement of the problem

In this study aim to know the effectiveness of our productThese questions and problems
are to be concluded and generalized below.

1.) Can Kalamansi and Kamias extract really a stain remover?

2.) Could it really remove the stain in fabric? If it can,how long does it take to do so?

3.) Is it harmful to experiment and use?

4.) What’s in with kalamansi and kamias contain that makes it remove the stain?

5.) Are there any variables to use with Kalamansi and Kamias to be more effective?

Research Hyphothesis

Ho: Kalamansi and Kamias extract is harmful and not effective to remove stain.

Hl: Kalamansi and Kamias extract is not harmful and effective to remove stain.
