INHIB OVRD

Use of this switch is for operations when the normal landing flap position is not
FLAP used. Pushing the switch disables the TOO LOW FLAPS portion of the
OVRD Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) Mode 4b alert boundaries and
also selects the Mode 2b envelope. The OVRD annunciator illuminates amber
when the switch is pushed.

Use of this switch is to prevent nuisance alerts due to terrain or airport data-
TERR base errors, omissions, or low resolution. Pushing the switch deselects all
INHIB CPA and OCPA functions of the TAWS+ system. The INHIB annunciator
illuminates amber when the switch is pushed.

Use of this switch is for Instrument Landing System (ILS) operations without
GS a glideslope. Pushing the switch inhibits the GPWS Mode 5 GLIDESLOPE
alerting below 2000 feet AGL. The INHIB annunciator illuminates amber when
INHIB GPWS Mode 5 GLIDESLOPE alerting is inhibited.

Use of this switch is to inhibit disruptive aural alerts due to system failures.
ALT
Pushing the switch inhibits all altitude callouts. The OVRD annunciator
CALLS
illuminates amber when the switch is pushed.

SECTION 2 - LIMITATIONS
AVIONICS LIMITATIONS
NOTE: This supplemental information supersedes all Honeywell Enhanced Ground Proximity
Warning System (EGPWS) information in the Airplane Flight Manual.

TAWS+ SYSTEM LIMITATIONS

1. TAWS+ Pilot’s Guide, Aviation Communications and Surveillance Systems (ACSS)

Document Number 8006772-001, dated July 2007 or later revision, must be available to the
flight crew when operating the TAWS+.

2. Navigation must not be predicated upon use of TAWS. The terrain display is intended
to serve as a situational awareness tool only. It may not provide the accuracy and/or fidelity
on which to solely base decisions and plan maneuvers to avoid terrain and obstacles.

3. To avoid giving unwanted alerts, the TAWS must be inhibited when landing at an airport that
is not included in the airport database. Refer to ACSS Document 8006417 for airports
contained in the database (see "TAWS Airports" at www.acsscustomerservices.com).

4. The current local QNH altimeter setting must be entered in the pilot’s altimeter for proper
terrain alerting. In particular, the TERR INHIB annunciator switch must be selected when
operating in QFE mode.

EXPANDED NORMAL PROCEDURES

NOTE: This supplemental information supersedes all Honeywell Enhanced Ground Proximity
Warning System (EGPWS) information in the Airplane Flight Manual.

TAWS+ SYSTEM INFORMATION

1. The TAWS+ terrain display is available only on the Present Position Map and Arc formats.
Selection of Weather Radar and the Terrain Display are mutually exclusive.

2. In the event of a terrain alert, the MFD will automatically switch to display terrain, if not
currently displaying terrain, and the pilot’s PFD and the MFD will auto range to 10 miles.
After the alert has ceased, the display(s) can be returned to weather radar by pushing the
TERR/RDR line select key on the display(s).

3. Operations within 15 nm of an airport not contained in the TAWS+ database with the CPA
function active may result in nuisance terrain alerts. Select TERR annunciator switch to
INHIB. Refer to ACSS Document 8006417 for airports contained in the database (see
"TAWS Airports" in www.acsscustomerservices.com).

4. If there is no terrain data in the database for a particular area, the affected display area is
colored magenta.

5. The obstacle database accounts for limited cataloged obstructions. If a particular obstacle
is not in the database, the obstacle awareness alerting is not available for that particular
obstacle.

6. The obstacle database contains both "verified" and "unverified" obstacles as provided in the
state data (FAA, etc). A "verified" obstacle has been reviewed by the publishing state and
a reliability assessment has been assigned. "Unverified" obstacles have not been reviewed
by the publishing state and could potentially result in missing or nuisance alerts.
