Valves of types WP and WH are fluidi-
cally operated directional spool valves.
They control the start, stop and direction
of a flow.
These directional valves basically con-
sist of housing (1), one or two actuat-
ing elements (2) (hydraulic, pneumatic
actuator), control spool (3) and one or T P T
two return springs (4). The connections
for controlling are arranged radially (type
4WP) (5) or axially (type 4WPZ) (6) . Typ 4WP 6 E6X/... A B
In the non-operated condition, control
spool (3) is held by return springs (4) in
the central or initial position (except for 6 5 2 1 3 4 5 6
impulse spools).
Control spool (3) is shifted by the actu-
ating elements to the required spool po-
sition.

Throttle insert
The use of a throttle insert is required
when, due to the prevailing operating Typ 4WH 6 E5X/... A B
conditions, flows can occur during the
switching process that are higher than
permitted by the performance limits of
the valve.
It is to be inserted in the P-channel of the
directional valve.
