Dear Human Resources Director:

My name is David J. Leperi and I am a Teaching Associate and University

Internship Supervisor at Coastal Carolina University. I am also a retired teacher
and school administrator from the NJ public schools. I have been asked to write a
letter of recommendation on behalf of a student, Delaney Carone, and in support
of her application for an Elementary Education teaching position in your district.
Delaney was a student in three of my CCU Education classes and received an “A”
final grade in all three classes over the past 3 years.

I have known Delaney for three years and in that period of time have been
most impressed with her honest, responsible, and respectful qualities. She had
always completed her assignments in a timely manner and participated in all class
discussions many times leading the way for other students to follow. Many times
she would ask our guest speakers relative questions which set an example for
classmates to follow in a positive manner. Delaney’s written and critical thinking
skills are without a doubt her strengths. She enjoyed questioning our class notes
and followed up with meaningful research. Delaney also has unique qualities of
positive decision making, organizational skills to include detailed planning, and
attentive to student needs which demonstrates cultural diversity and inclusion. I
have observed these qualities during her time in class. Delaney is a team player,
unique problem solver, and always enthusiastic to learn new teaching techniques.

Delaney’s attendance and punctuality to classes and during her internship was
exemplary. Perfect attendance and punctuality has certainly always been one of
the priorities in overall student performance and student achievement. She also
writes impeccable reports and article summaries with personal reflections. She is
also very well educated on technological issues and updates. During the COVID
crisis Delaney acted as my class assistant helping with Zoom activities and
required technology.
Delaney has always demonstrated a most respectful attitude toward myself
and other staff members and peers and follows the chain of command without
question.

Some of her outstanding achievements include the following:

*4.0 Undergraduate GPA, will graduate in Dec.,2022, Summa Cum Laude (the
highest honor possible)

*HTC Honors College

*President’s List-all 4 years

*University Scholar Award

*Coastal Scholarship Award

*CCU Honor’s Student

*Dalton and Floyd Mentoring Program member

* Vice President of Student Council

*Teaching experience at Loris Elem., Ocean Bay Elem. and Socastee Elem. (all in
SC)

*Passed the PLT exam

*Fire Dept. volunteer in NJ

*There are many more achievements listed in her personal resume.

I have been teaching at the University level for 20 years after my NJ retirement
and have to rank Delaney in the top 5 students that I have ever worked with to
include Georgian Court Univ., Campbell Univ., UNC at Chapel Hill and Coastal
Carolina Univ. students. She is a quality individual both in and out of the
classroom and will absolutely be a positive asset to your school district.
I wholeheartedly endorse her application for a teaching position in your district
and urge you to give it every consideration. If you have any further questions
please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time and consideration
regarding this recommendation letter.

Sincerely,

David J. Leperi
