DUTCHESS & DRAGONS CONSTITUTION

Section 1: NAME AND PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION


1.01 The name of the organization shall be Dutchess & Dragons Club (aka D&D Club)
1.02 The purpose of Dutchess & Dragons Club is to organize an area where like-minded
individuals can get together to interact in a world designed by a Dungeon Master to solve
problems using critical thinking skills as well as teamwork. D&D Club aims to include everyone
who is interested regardless of their experience level. This club hopes to develop the social &
communication skills of the players so they can increase their confidence to better support
themselves in the future.
Section 2: ORGANIZATION
2.01 The club will elect existing members to hold various positions which each will have
assigned roles.
2.02 All club decisions will need to reach a majority vote. Every member, position holder or not,
will have one vote.
2.03 Elected positions within the club includes President, Vice President, Scribe, Treasurer,
SGA Representative, and Public Relations. For specific responsibilities of each role, please see
Position Responsibilities.
2.04 All position holding members are required to hold an average of 2.0, or better, to retain
their position.
2.05 Budget will be looked at and adjusted at the beginning of each Fall semester. Please see
Budget Plan for specifics for current budget.
Section 3: ADVISOR(S)
3.01 The Advisor(s) shall be a member of the faculty who has volunteered for the position.
3.02 The Advisor(s) will not be allowed to run the meeting(s).
3.03 The duties of the Advisor(s) include breaking ties during votes, attendance of meetings,
mediator for club disputes, and advice for activity planning.
3.04 Any Advisor who falls out of good standing in the eyes of the club can be impeached by a
written petition, signed by ⅔ of the total membership, under the guidance of the SGA.
Section 4: MEMBERSHIP
4.01 In conformity with the Student Guidelines of Dutchess Community College, all students,
teachers, and staff of Dutchess Community College shall be eligible for membership and
activities in the D&D Club.
4.02 Members are not required to attend regular meetings. For attendance specifics, refer to the
DM & Players Agreement for information on game sessions.
4.03 Guests are always welcomed during regular meetings but cannot vote.
4.04 Please see DM & Players Agreement for information regarding guests, joining, or leaving
game sessions.

Section 5: ELECTIONS
5.01 The club members shall elect all officers within the first three meetings of the fall semester.
Please see Election & Term Protocols for term periods and re-election procedures.
Section 6: IMPEACHMENT
6.01 Any club officer who has fallen from good standing in the eyes of the club can be
impeached by a written petition signed by ⅔ of the total membership under the guidance of the
SGA.
Section 7: MEETINGS
7.01 The club shall meet twice a week, once in-person and once over Zoom later on the same
day, during the Fall & Spring Semesters.
7.02 Game sessions may continue to meet in the Winter & Summer semesters. Please see DM
& Players Agreement for more information regarding Game sessions.
7.03 Regular emails will be sent the day following a meeting, for members who cannot attend.
7.04 Voting will take place online through a link.
Section 8: ARTICLES
8.01 New articles shall be added to this Constitution by a ⅔ vote of the total membership and
shall not take effect until such time as the Student Government Association accepts them.
Section 9: CONTINUANCE
9.01 Until such time as this Constitution is ratified and adopted by both this club and the Student
Government Association, the previous Constitution shall continue.
