THE LITTLE FROG THAT DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO SING

Once upon a time in a very far away forest there lived three little frogs. They
were brothers, two sisters and our protagonist little Croky. He really liked to
sing, but unlike his sisters who sang very well, when Croky sang he seemed like
a balloon deflating.

His voice was thin and squeaky. For this reason Croky felt very unhappy. He
was quite unhappy, when he heard his two little sisters sing he always thought
why couldn't he do it as well as them. Croky struggled to try. He would go into
the forest, where no one saw him, and he would sing and sing. But his voice
always sounded the same, no matter how hard he tried.

One day, while he was striving to achieve this, he did not see that near him,
behind some bushes, was an old turtle. When it ended, as so often, it had been
disastrous. This time he could not resist the despair and began to cry
uncontrollably.
Forest fairies

Once upon a time there were two 11-year-old girls named Jennifer and Yaisa.
The first of them was a good student and had a big heart; On the contrary,
Yaisa was a terrible student and quite arrogant.

Jennifer lived in a house next to the blue forest, her parents were farmers and
although poor, they did not suffer economic hardship. Yaisa, on the other hand,
lived in a large house located on the hill, her parents were rich and therefore
she had all the whims she wanted.

Although they came from such opposite worlds, they had become great friends
and had been together since kindergarten.

Yaisa's parents had opposed this friendship but they could do nothing about the
girls' determination to remain friends.

As I had said before Jennifer lived next to the blue forest. This forest was called
that by the locals, since a large number of blue butterflies lived in it.

Many believed that these butterflies were actually nymphs and that they would
take possession of anyone who entered the forest at dusk.

This curse had been fed for many years, when a girl disappeared in the forest
and nothing was ever heard from them.

Searches were organized in the forest and no trace of her was found, not even
her bones or personal objects were found, so it was ruled out that she was
eaten by vermin.

This event gave rise to the legend of the blue forest, a legend that lasted to this
day, passing from generation to generation.

One afternoon Yaisa suggested going to the forest.

-It's not dangerous. - Jennifer responded.

- Why? Do you believe that story? -.
-Umm... Yes, I once heard my grandfather tell it -.
-Those are lies, what happens is that you are afraid and you don't want to admit
it.-
-I'm not afraid!!
-Yes, you have it, you are a coward!!
-I'm not a coward! Okay, we'll go, but you have to promise me that we'll be back
before nightfall.-
-It's okay, I promise.-
As they entered the forest Jennifer began to regret having accepted.

-What if the legend were true? What if I don't see my parents again? - I thought.
-Hey Yaisa, I'm going back home.-

-That?-
-What happened, I'm sorry, I'm leaving -
-Come on, if we're inside, you're going to leave me alone now.
-If I go. You come?
-Okay, I'm going with you.
-Welcome to my kingdom.
-Who has said that?
"I haven't been," Yaisa answered, scared.
-Up there!!! - Jennifer exclaimed.
-But... but what is that!
They looked up and saw an ethereal being that remained suspended in the air.
Around her hundreds of blue butterflies with a strange human shape illuminated
her and gave the figure a gloomy appearance.

-Who are you?.

-I am Ethea, queen of this place, you will surely know me as the fairy of the
forests. The butterflies are Suthereis, they are my nymphs. What are you doing
here?
-Nothing, we just went to play a little, but we were leaving.
-Let's play, huh. Aha, I propose a game.-
-Let's see, tell us.
-Of the two, the one who brings me the object that weighs the least will win and
will be led out of the forest, the loser will stay with me forever and will be turned
into a beautiful blue butterfly.
"Ma'am, you can't do that to us," the two girls pleaded in unison.
-Because? You have invaded my kingdom and this is the only way out. All these
butterflies were people like you who dared to enter. They were losers. You have
one hour. Each one of you go in the opposite direction and bring me that object.
The time begins now.
-No, Yaisa, don't move, I have the solution.
-Come now. You only want to beat me, but I will manage to take that honor from
you. -You will stay here- Yaisa answered angrily.
Yaisa ran off, heading to the left, while Jennifer stayed still.

-You say you have the solution? I hope so, although within an hour we will clear
up the doubt.
Time passed inexorably and after an hour, Yaisa was carried by the nymphs.

-Well, what do you have?

-I, this feather, light as the wind. - Yaisa shouted excitedly.-
-And you?
-Yo, here you have it- and making a fist, he handed it to the fairy.
-But it's a joke, there is nothing here.-
-Yes there is. There is air. That is my object. There is nothing lighter than him.
-Ingenious!- Exclaimed the fairy. Here is my decision.
-You Yaisa, to win you have indeed brought me a very light material but you
have had to kill a little bird. -You have attacked nature. Your Jennifer, on the
other hand, has obtained the lightest material that exists without harming the
environment. Jennifer you are free to go.
-No! I want my friend to leave, I prefer to stay.
-You continue to surprise me. Do you change your life for that of your friend? -
-Yes, she is an only child, on the other hand I have 2 more brothers, and for the
rest of my life I would not forgive myself for leaving my friend here.-
-Jennifer, forgive me. I have only thought about myself and you instead give
your life for mine. I can't accept it, I've lost and I'm left.
-Incredible! In my 500 years of life, this is the first time something like this has
happened to me. After this, I think you both deserve to go home. You can go.-
-Thank you, ma'am- They answered in unison.
-You can come back whenever you want. You have learned the most important
lesson of your life. Your friendship has saved you.-

The two girls returned home and remained friends throughout their lives.

The Rainbow
A long, long time ago, our world and the fairy world were separated by a magic
crystal. And such was the power of this crystal, that only the fairies saw what
was happening on the other side.
But back then, our world was not as we know it now. Everything was a dull
gray: the houses were gray, the people were gray, even the sky was always
gray... Meanwhile, in fairyland, color was pouring out everywhere. Red, green,
blue, yellow... everything was color and joy.
However, there was a being, a young and beautiful fairy, who felt very sorry for
the sad and gray world in which humans lived.
Iris, that was her name, cried bitterly about it and dreamed of being able to
cross the glass and bring a little joy to the other side.
Seven of her best friends one day devised a plan: with magic dust from their
wings they would build a bridge from one world to the other and, thus, Iris could
fulfill her dream. They would build a bow for Iris with the seven colors of each of
her wings.
And said and done: thanks to this arc of colors, our friend crossed the magic
crystal into our world. And such was her emotion that thick tears flowed from
her eyes; Tears that, when filtered through the Rainbow, mixed with the magical
dust of the fairies and, to everyone's surprise, filled that gray world with color.

Since that day, every so often, Iris and her seven friends recharge our world
with color. Think about it every time you see a rainbow and fine raindrops wet
your face.

The baby elephant

I am the anteater, and I am going to tell you a unique story. If I tell you that
there was unusual excitement and excitement at the zoo, I won't lie to you...
despite my long nose.

It was born on the first day of autumn, while the leaves decorated the streets,
transforming them into fluffy golden rivers.
The sun was coming out, still a little sleepy. While he stretched, he fulfilled his
daily task of illuminating life.
And speaking of life and enlightenment... all of us animals were waiting for the
new member of the pachyderm family.
Exactly TODAY was the day the new little one arrived.
People lined up to see the newborn baby. At the entrance to the zoo there were
long lines of kids voting on what name we would give him.
My cage, which was right in front of the elephants' field, allowed me to observe
everything that was happening there, almost without losing any detail.

Time passed, and Junior, as we had called the baby who is now 5 years old,
saw that he was somewhat different from his parents. Its trunk did not grow, its
mouth was enormous and full of teeth, it dragged its belly when it walked, and it
had a long, robust tail.
- Mom - said the little one - I get the feeling that I don't look too much like you...
that I'm very different. -

Two days passed with Junior's disturbing question, until one afternoon, when
the people had already left, the proud elephant parents sat down to chat with
their little son.
Then they explained to him that since mom couldn't have elephants in her belly,
they had decided to adopt a baby... and they were lucky to have him. Which is a
bit different, it's true... after all it had come out of the belly of a "crocodile". But
who could care if he had big or almost invisible ears...?
After all, a son is a son as he is, and is known by the heart and not by color or
shape.

"Love is the only one capable of deciding who is whose child."

The little crocodile-like elephant thought for a long time. Then he looked at his
parents and said:
- Mommy, daddy,... now I really love you much more than before.-
From my cage, I could then see a new miracle. While Junior was sleeping, a
beautiful little trumpet began to grow. And let there be no doubt that this
transformation was due to the strong feeling of love that united this great family.

You may wonder how I know so much about this... Well, I will tell you that the
family of this anteater that speaks to you is made up of a gray bear father and a
panda mother.

The sun began to set, letting the moon reflect on the lake of the pink
flamingos... the silence absorbed the bustle of the crowd, and autumn continued
its way towards the not-so-cold winter of the Zoological Garden.
The girl and the snowman

It had stopped snowing and the children, eager to play, left the house and
began to run around in the white, shiny, soft snow.
The blacksmith's daughter, taking handfuls of snow with her little hands, very
skillfully, devoted herself to the task of molding it.
- I will make a doll like the little brother I wish I had, he said to himself.
A beautiful little boy came out, round, with coal eyes and a red button for a
mouth. The little girl was enthusiastic about her work and made the doll her
inseparable companion during the sad days of that winter. I talked to him,
pampered him...
But soon the days began to be longer and the sun's rays warmer... The doll
melted, leaving no more trace of its existence than a puddle with two coals and
a red button. The girl cried in dismay.

A little old man, who was looking for warmth in the sun for his winter, said
sweetly to her: Dry your tears, darling, because you have just received a great
lesson: now you know that you should not set your heart too much on
perishable things.
