Chinese symbol for year of 2012

The toy is 35 cm (13.8”) tall
INTRODUCTION:
Probably you haven’t known there is a magic country far away where dragons live!
Oh, how good and beautiful, and friendly they are!
The dragons from that country can be of different colors – blue, and orange, and
raspberry, and even purple; and they all have a rainbow crest, that’s because they
are Rainbow Dragons that bring luck, happiness, joy, and love.

Acrylic yarn (100g/240m)
Colors: mustard-brown, yellow, white; a bit of lettuce-green, red, orange, blue, and black

A piece of white felt for the wings (optional)


Polyester, Size E (3 mm) crochet hook, tapestry needle
Styrofoam ball (7 cm in diameter)

Abbreviation:
ch - chain
sc – single crochet
ss – slip stitch
rnd - round

Attention!
When you crochet in a spiral I advise you to make a magic ring at the
beginning of the item and then to make the necessary number of single
crochets into the ring (usually you make 6sc).

To do this, work 4 sc between each two of them (see Photo 2)
When the toes are joined together, start working in rounds; the round starts between the

see Photo 2 below)

Now attach the legs as seen in the photo below, inserting a thread through the body.

Fix with a few stitches so that the legs could be movable and the Dragon could sit and
stand.

Each wing consists of two white triangles that are joined together with mustard-brown
yarn.

Work in rows with a turning ch at the end of each row
Row1: ch 8+1, sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, sc in each ch along – 8 sc
Row2: 6 sc, 2 sc together – 7 sc
Row3: 5 sc, 2 sc together – 6 sc
Row4: 4 sc, 2 sc together – 5 sc
Row5: 3 sc, 2 sc together – 4 sc
Row6: 2 sc, 2 sc together – 3 sc
Row7: 1 sc, 2 sc together – 2 sc
Row8: 2 sc together – 1 sc
Break the yarn
With mustard-brown yarn, join the triangles together as seen in Photos 2 and 3
Work a row of sc along the edges (Photo 4)
If you have a bit of white felt, attach it to the outer sides of the wings (Photo 5)

Attach the wings to the Dragon’s back

Ears:
With mustard-brown yarn ch 4, join with a ss in the first ch to form a ring. 6 sc into the
ring + 1 ch. Turn.
Rnd1: 2 sc into the 1st and the last sc of the row – 8 sc
1 ch. Turn.

Rnd2: 2 sc into the 1st and the last sc of the row – 10 sc
Break the yarn leaving a long end for assembling
Attach the ears in place.
Embroider the mouth.
