Sheep socks

This is not a complete pattern, but a description of how I made the socks.

Material
Yarn Fingering weight 4 ply sock yarn.
I used: MC Tweed Meilenweit Lana Grossa color 149 and CC Drops fabel color 100 and 400

Needles
2,5 mm (US 1,5) circular needle, 80 cm (32 inch) for magic loop.
For colorwork I use a 2,5 mm (US 1,5) 23 cm (9 inch) circular needle, a 2 ,75mm (US 2)
needle as preferred.

Cuff
Cast on 64 stitches
Work in the round: *k2,p2; rep from* to end of round (15 rounds)

Leg
Knit 1 round (64 sts total)
Before we start the colorwork we increase to 72 stitches
*K8, M1L; rep from* to end of round (72 sts total)

Change to the bigger needle if you prefer.

Colorwork
Follow round 1-20 of the colorwork chart twice or more if you want the sock to be longer.

Heel
1 round before you start the heel, decrease back to 64 stitches
*K7, k2tog; rep from* to end of round (64 sts total)
You can also decide to just decrease the heel side from 36 to 32 stitches
Knit a heel of your choice. My favorite is the Shadow Wrap Short Row heel

When the heel is finished, increase back to 72 stitches total.

*k8,M1L; rep from* tot end of round or half if you only decreased half of the sock

Foot
Follow round 1-20 of the colorwork chart twice and one more time 1-11 or more if you have
longer feet.

Decrease back to 64 stitches before you start with the toe

*k7, k2tog rep from* to end (64 stitches)

Toe
Instruction basic toe.

Round 1: K1, ssk, K to 3 sts before and front of the sock K2tog,k1.
K1,ssk, K to 3 sts before and back of the sock, K2tog, k1
Round 2: K all sts

Repeat round 1 and 2 untill 32 (total) stitches remain.

Than you repeat round 1 until 16 (total) stitches remain

Close the sock with the Kitchener Stitch

Special notes!
If you want to make the socks in a larger size.

Cast on 72 stitches
Increase before colorwork tot 84 stitches
*K6, M1L; rep from* to end of round (84 sts total)

Decrease back to 72 stitches before start the heel.

*K5, k2tog; rep from* to end of round (72 sts total)

Increase to 84 sts before you start the colorwork for the foot and decrease back to 72 sts
before you start with the toe.

Colorwork: When you need to knit more than 5 stitches in the same color, carry the yarn
behind your work.
