PATTERN
A cute blouse with a peplum skirt. The blouse is knitted top down. All ribs are knitted in garter stitch and you
can find a little vent on the back of the blouse, which is closed with a button.
The blouse fits perfectly both small and older girls.

YOKE
Cast on 60 (60) 66 (66) 72 (80) 80 sts on needle 3 mm.
1 st – 5 th row: slip 1 st knitwise, k the rest of the row.
Change to needle 4 mm and divide the sts as follows:
6 th row: Slip 1 st knitwise, k 9 (9) 10 (10) 11 (12) 12, yo, m st, yo, k 8 (8) 9 (9) 10 (11) 11, yo, m st, yo, k 20 (20) 22
(22) 24 (28) 28, yo, m st, yo, k 8 (8) 9 (9) 10 (11) 11, yo, m st, yo, k 10 (10) 11 (11) 12 (13) 13.
7 th row: Slip 1 st knitwise, k1, p all sts until 2 sts are left, k2.
8 th row: Slip 1 st knitwise, k all sts and knit a yo before and after every m st.
Repeat 7th and 8th row in total 11 times. The vent is now finished and you close the work to the round. Knit as
follows from the right side:
Knit the last 8th row as before; place the last 2 sts on a cable needle, behind your work. Knit the last 2 sts on
the cable needle together with the first 2 sts of the next row.
Continue knitting stockinette stitch in the round, place a stitch marker at the round’s beginning and repeat
the 7th and 8th row in total 16 (18) 19 (22) 23 (26) 28 times. You now have 194 (210) 224 (248) 262 (286) 310 sts
on the needle. Let the sleeve sts between the 1st and 2nd m st rest on a cable needle or a piece of yarn, as well
as the other sleeve sts between the 3rd and 4th m st.
BODY
The next round, cast on 2 new sts under each arm and continue knitting stockinette stitch in the round until
your work measures 20 (22) 24 (26) 28 (31) 33 cm, measured mid back.
SHORT ROW S
For shaping the blouse longer on the back, you have to knit short rows.
Mark the middle st on the back with a stitch marker and knit 22 (24) 26 (28) 30 (34) 38 sts past this marker,
turn your work, yo, p 22 (24) 26 (28) 30 (34) 38 sts past the marker, turn your work, yo, * knit until 4 sts
before the last turn, turn work, yo *, repeat from *-* until you have turned your work in total 4 (5) 5 (6) 6 (7) 7
times on both sides of the marker. Watch out: knit sts on the right side, purl sts on the wrong side. Turn your
work to the right side and knit all yo together with the following st.
PEPLUM
The next round, you create the peplum by kfab (= 2 sts in 1 st (k1 st, k1 tbl in the same stitch)) the complete
round, so that you double the amount of sts. Knit stockinette stitch until the peplum skirt 6 (6) 6 (6) 7 (8) 8
cm. Knit 4 rounds garter stitch: *p 1 round, k 1 round*, repeat *-* and cast off sts with knit stitch in the 4th
round. The edge will flatten after washing and blocking.
SLEEVES
The sleeves are knitted in stockinette stitch in the round and you decrease sts every 6th round. Place the sts
on double pointed needles 4 mm. Knit 1 round and cast on 4 new sts under the arm or pick up these sts from
the body. Place a marker in the middle of the sts under the arm.
Knit the decreases as follows: k1, k2tog, knit until 3 sts left, k2tog tbl, k1; every 6th round in total 7 (8) 8 (9) 9
(10) 10 times and continue until the inner sleeve length measures 17 (18) 20 (23) 26 (28) 30 cm or has the
desired length. The next round you decrease 6 sts by k2tog evenly. Change to double pointed needles 3 mm
and knit 4 rounds garter stitch: *p 1 round, k 1 round*, repeat from *-* and cast off sts with knit stitch in the
4th round. Knit the 2nd sleeve the same way.
Weave in all ends, crochet a button hole loop at the vent’s beginning (approx. 8-10 chain sts – you might
want to google on how to a crochet a button hole) and sew the button on.
