Pattern Notes lc - left cable
This highly textured hat is worked in the round from the lh - left hand
bottom-up. Featuring twisting cables that open up into mb - make bobble
beautiful lilies with crocheted bobbles inside. Narrow p - purl
inserts of simple lace break up the cables as they gradu- p2tog - purl two together
ally come together in the crown of the hat. This pattern is pm - place marker
written in ONE ADULT SIZE but will fit between a 16” and psso - pass slipped stitch over
23” head circumference. The pattern is charted and also rem - remaining

Approximately 180 yards/165 m of DK weight yarn ssk - slip, slip, knit

US #3 (3.25 mm) 16”/40 cm Circular Needle for brim Stitch Guide
US #7 (4.5 mm) 16”/40 cm Circular Needle & Double MB - 3-Half Double Crochet Bobble
pointed needles, for hat body and decreases (Worked in one stitch on a RS row)
Using crochet hook, insert hook into the stitch and pull up
Notions a loop, (do not drop stitch off of LH needle), *YO hook,
1 stitch marker for BOR insert hook into the stitch and pull up a loop from stitch,
5 additional stitch markers for marking pattern repeats, if (do not drop stitch off of LH needle); rep from * 2 more
desired times. (7 loops will be on your hook) YO hook and pull
4 mm Crochet hook (for bobbles) through all 7 loops, ch1. Bring hook to the front of the work
Cable needle and lift up the left leg of the stitch in the row below, YO
Tapestry Needle hook and pull through this leg and the loop left on your
Blocking materials hook. Slip the completed bobble to the RH needle.
K2tog: Knit 2 stitches together.
Gauge P2tog: Purl 2 stitches together.

With smaller needles, CO 120 sts using a Longtail Tubular
Cast-On. Join in the round. Place unique marker for BOR.
Chart

Work Rnd 3 for 2”/5 cm from CO.
Work all rows of chart from right to left.

Break yarn and pass through the 12 rem sts, using a tapestry
needle. Pull tightly and secure with a knot inside the hat.
