                                     Abstract
In the high-stakes world of roulette, where fortunes are won and lost
on the spin of a wheel, a revolutionary strategy emerges: ”The Magic
7.” This paper unveils a meticulously crafted approach that challenges
conventional wisdom in casino gaming. Unlike traditional systems focused
on loss minimization, the Magic 7 strategy embraces a bold ”hit-and-run”
philosophy, designed to maximize profits in the shortest possible time.
Through a combination of strategic start conditions, recovery bets, and
positive progressions, this system offers players a tantalizing opportunity
to beat the house at its own game. While no strategy can guarantee long-
term profits in roulette, the Magic 7 presents a compelling case for those
seeking to optimize their chances of walking away winners in this timeless
     battle of probability and luck.
1 Introduction
Many roulette strategies that are posted online are concerned with attempt-
ing to minimise the player’s losses. By taking this approach, most systems
are guaranteed to fail, as there exists no system that remains profitable over
the long-term. This strategy is designed with a ’hit-and-run’ mentality, where
the goal is to score a big win in the smallest number of spins possible, thus
minimising the likelihood of the player losing their bankroll.
To accomplish this, this strategy implements start-conditions, recovery bets,
and positive progressions in order to maximise the possibility of walking away
from the roulette table as a winner.
2 Disclaimer
For the purposes of this report, all of the probabilities and calculations are
performed on a European Roulette wheel, with only a single zero. Whilst this
strategy will work for American Roulette (simply place a 0/00 split instead of a
0 straight-up bet), the author advises that a European wheel should be sought
instead. The inclusion of an additional zero on an American wheel, increases
the likelihood of the player suffering a loss and decreases the maximum profit
of this strategy.

Additionally, it is important that the reader fully understand the inherent
risk present within gambling. Regardless of the strategy used, there is no pos-
sible way to remain profitable whilst playing in the long-term. Gambling is an
innately risky activity, that should never be thought of as anythign more than
entertainment. The author’s goal is not to deceive you into believing that this
strategy possess any special ’magic’, but to educate the reader such that their
own game-play can be more well-informed.
3 Step-By-Step Guide
    1. Wait until 0 or 13-18 hits
       (a) IF 1st 12 wins then re-bet, proceed to next step after another win.
       (b) IF 19-36 wins, proceed directly to next step.
    5. Place 4 units on 1st 12 & 6 units on 19-36.
    6. Place 1 unit on 0-3 & 13-18. Place 4 units on 2nd 12 & 6 units on 1-18.
4 Probability Of Success
In order for the betting sequence to reach it’s conclusion, we require that each
successive bet after a win, also wins, until the final stage of the system is reached.
As such, the total probability of success can be calculated as the probability of
each event, multiplied by every other event, mathematically this can be ex-
pressed as:
                            PT = P1 ∗ P 2 ∗ P3 ∗ P4 ∗ P5                          (1)
Where PT is the total probability of success and PN is the individual prob-
ability of winning at any given stage N .
                                          2
                                          18
                             P1 = P2 =       ≈ 48.6%                            (2)
                                          37
                                        30
                                P4 =       ≈ 81.1%                              (3)
                                        37
4.2 Calculating P3
In stage 3, there exist multiple outcomes. The total probability of winning this
stage is the sum of winning either the first case, or the second case. That is:
4.3 Calculating P5
Calculating the probability of P5 is the most difficult. Doing so requires that we
not only consider the probability of winning on the first spin of this stage, but we
must also consider the cases in which re-betting is required. Since technically,
we could theoretically get a series of spins that would cause us to continue
re-betting forever. Luckily for us, the odds of this ever occurring are so slim,
that we can exclude these possibilities from our odds calculation with minimal
impact on the accuracy.
Since we know there are seven spaces that are considered ”win-spaces” that
end our strategy, we know that the possible outcomes are:
   • We land on 0 or 13-18 on the first spin.
                                         3
    • etc...
We can express this in a succinct mathematical format using summation
notation:
                                       ∞ K
                                   7 X 18
                             P5 =    ∗                                        (7)
                                  37 37
                                        K=0
Its important to remember, that this expected value is over the course of a
minimum of five spins, thus the expected value of any one spin is at maximum,
−0.019 for any given spin.
Whilst this doesn’t sound impressive, its important to remember that NO
strategy will be able to obtain a positive expected value. If there were such a
strategy, many clever mathematicians throughout history would have also been
the richest men on earth.
In order to make this strategy profitable, additional techniques must be
implemented.
5 Improving Profitability
It can be seen that on any roulette wheel, that there exists 6 double-street bets.
On a truly random roulette wheel, it would be expected that each double-street
will be hit 1/6th of the time. This is the key ingredient to this strategy that
allows it to become more profitable.
                                        4
By first waiting until the ball lands on 13-18, we can assume that the chances
of this happening twice in a row is extremely unlikely. Therefore by setting up
our bets such that they win on numbers outside of 13-18, we can assume that
our bets will be profitable more often than not.
By placing these bets on numbers outside of 13-18, we can then proceed to
build up a bankroll, that can be used later on when we are expecting out 13-18
hit.
Whilst this is an extension of the ’gamblers fallacy’ I have noticed that
implementing these start conditions has significantly improved my own profit
margin whilst allowing me to avoid long streaks of losses. If at any point I feel
as though the wheel is acting unfavourable, or statistical anomalies (such as
15 reds in a row) make themselves apparent, the author recommends that you
simply leave the roulette wheel and return after some time to a hopefully much
more unbiased wheel.
6 Conclusion
The Magic 7 roulette strategy represents a bold departure from conventional
gambling wisdom. By embracing a ”hit-and-run” philosophy and leveraging
strategic bet placements, this system offers players a tantalizing chance to
capitalize on short-term opportunities in the unpredictable world of roulette.
Through our analysis, we’ve demonstrated that while the overall expected value
remains negative—as it must in any fair casino game—the Magic 7 strategy
provides a structured approach to potentially maximize profits within a limited
number of spins. The implementation of start conditions, particularly waiting
for specific outcomes like 13-18, adds an extra layer of tactical advantage, po-
tentially improving the strategy’s effectiveness. However, it’s crucial to reiterate
that no roulette strategy, including the Magic 7, can guarantee long-term prof-
its or overcome the house edge indefinitely. The allure of this system lies in
its potential to capitalize on short-term statistical fluctuations and the thrill of
high-risk, high-reward gameplay. As with any form of gambling, players must
approach the Magic 7 strategy with caution, a clear understanding of the risks
involved, and a commitment to responsible gaming. While the system presented
here offers an intriguing approach to roulette, it should be viewed as a form of
entertainment rather than a reliable method of income. In the end, the Magic
7 strategy stands as a testament to the enduring fascination of roulette and the
human desire to outsmart chance. Whether it leads to a triumphant walk away
from the table or serves as an exciting way to engage with the game, the Magic
7 adds yet another chapter to the rich tapestry of roulette lore, inviting players
to test their luck and judgment in the eternal dance of risk and reward.
