COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
35-0L5
The SMART system software controls the operation of the
instrumentation system for UUT testing. It includes :
- a man-machine interface,
- the interface between the TCC and the instrumentation system,
- the software environment to execute test programs,
- the functions necessary for the development and debugging of ATLAS
test programs,
- the functions necessary for the software configuration of the
instrumentation system.
The instrumentation system provides :
- source and sensor resources,
- ARINC 608A defined switching unit.
The Unit Under Test (UUT) and its Test Unit Adaptor (TUA) are
connected to the instrumentation system via the ARINC 608A standard
interface. A wide range of ATEC configurations is available, each
including a different set of test instruments.

4. Test specification of the unit
A. General
This specification written in ATLAS language gives the general actions to
be carried out to test the Unit using an Automatic Test Equipment.
ATLAS (Abbreviated Test Language for All Systems) is a standard language
for describing test functions and programming test procedures in
accordance with ARINC 626 specification.
B. Preliminary tests
It is recommended to test insulation and electrical bonding of the unit
before starting test procedure written in ATLAS.
(1) Equipment required
- a megohmmeter.
- a milliohmmeter.
(2) Insulation test
- Short circuit all pins of rear connector (P1) except pin (P1-E).
- Connect the megohmmeter between interconnected pins and pin (P1-E),
under 45VDC voltage.
- Measure : R greater than 400 Mohms.
- Disconnect megohmmeter and interconnected pins.
(3) Bonding test
- Connect the milliohmmeter between pin (P1-E) and box structure,
under a 1A current.
- Measure : R lower than 20 Mohms.
- Disconnect milliohmmeter.
C. Description of ATLAS testing with ATEC series 6
(1) Preliminary Conditions, Test Equipment and Materials
(a) Test Conditions
1 The tests are done in these environmental conditions :
- Temperature : 15 to 30°C.
- Pressure : No specific environmental level other than the
ambient pressure level.
- Relative humidity : Refer to the Standard Practices Manual
Ref 20-00-02, Introduction page 2.§3.B Special instruction in
relation to SSD.
NOTE: Before the tests, let the equipment stay in these
conditions for two hours.

1004-07, 35-0L5-1005-08 and 35-0L5-1006-08:
(a) The ATLAS Test Specification for the equipment is referenced by :
"SOURCE SPECIFICATION: DATED JAN 31/10" contained on related file
24-38-34A_ATS_6-E13E.pdf.
(b) The SOURCE Specification corresponds to the ATEC Program PN :
- 6-E13E release .. (on ATEC Series 6) Where :
.. = 01 to 99 : correction of test program independent of test
specification (example : typographical errors).
NOTE: Equivalent test programs and test benches can be used.
