Christmas Wreath

Materials

25cm polystyrene ring

4mm hook
DK yarn in small quantities. I used Stylecraft Special DK in the following shades: white, royal, violet,
empire, lapis, petrol, grey, cloud blue, lobelia, silver, duck egg, wisteria, aster, denim.
Tapestry needle for sewing in ends
Pins

Base

1) Work twenty-seven foundation single crochet (or

number needed to wrap around the ring).
2) Ch1, turn, sc in first stitch and next twenty-six
stitches.
3-150) Repeat row two (or number of rows needed to
make rectangle big enough to wrap around the ring)

Break off yarn, leaving a long tail to sew it around the

ring. Sew the rectangle onto the wreath, matching row
ends to make sure it goes evenly along the ring.

Assembly

I recommend pinning everything in place before you begin. Start with the larger elements (the flowers),
and build up everything until you can’t see the wreath base any longer.

I doubled up some of the stars – a larger and a smaller – to add to the textured busyness of the wreath.

Once it’s all in place, sew everything onto the wreath.
